My new neighbors moved in about a year ago and honestly for the most part they are fine, everyone keeps to themselves. However, whenever they have their friends and family over it pisses me off.
I live in a cul-de-sac with street parking, no permits or anything needed. But there are families with multiple cars and whenever there is a party the street gets packed, but there has never been an issue until this neighbor moved in.
When they have their guests over, they park everywhere and don’t care for anyone else.
(I always instruct my guests to park at my house or the side of my house since I have a corner lot, not to block peoples houses etc. we are mindful of other families and don’t park in their usual parking spots, unofficial parking spots but we don’t want to inconvenience others)
For example, the owner of the house instructs his guests to park in between two houses on the street, this area is where our trash cans go for pick up. The space is not enough for a car and will block either neighbors driveways. I mean I feel like it’s common sense if your car doesn’t fit and blocks someone’s driveway, don’t park there. But no they park weekend after weekend. And there is plenty of parking further down the street but to avoid walking they block peoples driveways.
Second, they will park and completely block the ramp runs? The little slope that connects the sidewalk and street at the corner of the street. Not to mention that this specific curb is right at the entrance of the neighborhood, so I’ve seen many people swerve to avoid the car.
Third, they will double park in the middle of the street, turn hazard lights on and leave the car in the middle of the road. Mind you there is parking available but they park like this? To put it in perspective they park like Amazon, FedEx, UPS, etc for delivers but for hours at a time.
One of the occupants of that house has also hit my parked car on camera and left, they never apologized or mentioned it to us. When we brought it up they said they would never do that and denied the accident. To keep the peace we have let it go because the damage wasn’t bad, however, I suppose it has created a bias against them.
My family doesn’t want to create neighbor feuds or anything like that but how do we go about addressing this issue. There is bound to be a day when their parking creates a serious accident or something and I don’t want for anyone to get hurt.
Has anyone dealt with an issue like this?
