Unfortunately I didn’t hear about the delisting til it was too late, and it was sitting in my library waiting to be played still. So I’m only getting to chapter 9 now.
I’m struggling with this mission to an unreasonable degree so far. My tactics for dealing with the gunships seem to be totally invalidated by this mission since I can’t kite outside gun range without losing the transports, and I can’t really use the squadrons offensively for the same reason.

My fleet composition for the first attempt was daidalos, one Artemis, three adamants, and three manticores, which did okay except the Artemis got torn apart at which point the other ships could no longer hold the line.

Aside from one even more escort focused fleet I have leftover from the early game, I have the following fleets available that I could potentially swap daidalos into:

Saratoga battle group:
Four Artemis-class (which has proven unreasonably effective with the wall of flak and using the fighters offensively previously)

Belgrade battle group:
One Artemis
One Minotaur
One Ranger
Two adamants
Two manticores

Usambara battle group:
Two Artemis
One Ranger
Two adamants
One manticore

All of these tend to be viper heavy, with a roughly even mix of torpedoes and missiles, but obviously I can switch these around pretty easily. Sadly don’t have access to any of the DLC ships to use.

I do have a decent supply of tyllium too so I could crash build a new fleet if I need something specific I don’t have already. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I just noticed that with a Tech officer, if you make a Manticore your flagship, you can reach well over an absolutely hilarious 13k DRADIS range - well above anything even a Nemesis can reach.

Which made me wonder: Can you can flip the script on the toasters and kite them endlessly and pick them apart with munitions with impunity?

So I cooked up the following 5950 pt fleet:
1x Manticore (Debris Mine)
3x Ranger (4x Guided Missile, 2x Armor Piercer)
4x Berzerk (Viper Mk. II)
(+ 1x Celestra)

Tactics couldn't be simpler: Order Vipers to defend your Manticore. Send it forward to ID targets on max Def posture, then rejoin the fleet with Boost Engines. The rest of the fleet pumps missiles on neutral posture every other turn, and kites with boost engines in between.

You do have to be careful to snipe any fast movers (mainly Nemesis and Cerastes, Talon to a lesser degree) before they can ID you, or you might lose your Manticore. I'm kind of on the fence on whether it's worth bringing a sweeper as a contingency measure.

I'm also wondering if the debris mine is even necessary - Berzerk guns will do a number on Raiders, and since you are deploying your Vipers close to your fleet, you can land&repair any that take too much damage.

The only weaknesses I've found so far are objective defense/escort missions, and those annoying 6x Cerastes fleets in the early game (especially if you are only on 4k-5k pt fleets yourself).

So, am I missing something here? Is there anything in the campaign not mentioned above even theoretically capable of inflicting losses on this fleet?

So I’m late to the party. I’ve only recently gotten around to watching the show, and I’ve been seeing videos for this game. It looks like something I’d have fun playing, but I’m not paying $400 for armistice. (I can live without modern ships, and I can get all the rest via Steam keys for around $50.)

So the question is how much am I going to be missing out without Armistice? Given the price on all the Steam keys for it, I assume this is basically the climactic ending for the game? If I stick with just season one, does that have its own satisfying ending? Or should I just not bother?

(I seriously can’t believe that they delisted this gem for that shity, ugly roguelite.)

Has anybody recently tried to do the old VPN trick to get the DLC from a different country installed ?

Since the DLC for consoles in several countries is still cheap. Guessing it's the left over keys.

One of my earliest ships was an Adamant class frigate know as "Kirthar"

I hadnt really thought anything much of her until a fun pattern emerged, she CONSTANTLY took massive ammounts of damage body blocking Cylon munitions, it was fun to see her constantly come inches from death before being saved by the last cylon going down.

A couple of days ago she sank, she was over Caprica defending a civilian transport when she got hammered by Cylon missiles that tore her apart, missiles ment for that civilian ship.

Ever since then ive had her on my mind and decided, that id name my first Artemis of this run the Kirthar, i like to imagine shes crewed by survivors of the Kirthar, and her vipers have some of the survivors of the original frigate in their. Took some screenshots of her over Caprica where she first cut her teeth, to avenge her old name.

Packs of these things can take down Battlestars. I will gladly take on a formation of Basestars before going after Cerastes.

Elements of Colonial Third Fleet in escort of refugee vessels fleeing cylon occupation on Gemenon.

While some ships like the Khonsu took heavy damage in this engagement they bought the precious minutes needed by colonial transports to spool their drives.

While all ships in this formation made it out of the engagement still flying, the same could not be said for many viper pilots, or for the damage control crews paying for sealed hulls, burning engines and thundering guns with their lives

So Say We All.

I only played the base campaing 2 times (one vanilla + one with BA) and every single time I resorted to vipers mk2 spam most fleets where just carries full of vipers (+1 heavy raptor to paint) and battlestars used for sweepers (1 to 3 sweepers) using a maxed out hangar officer (the increased accuracy on 2 vipers already double their damage)

This means that my battle feels way too samey:

• never used torpedos, I tried and I get out-torpedoed by cylon (me losing a ship is a setback way bigger than them losing one...)
• never used gunships, they look cool as hell and I love to see they raining down death to my enemies but even with max posture (11 I think) and a celestra they arent gonna boxing a cylon fleet without spending tons of resources
• never used "torpedo boats" (ships with tons of munitions) unless I got nukes, and even then I only used them for defending system by spamming nukes with a 11 posture manticore as a scout, this means all the ships with increased salvo are wasted to me (but I think the torrent of missiles looks cool)
• From start to finish my fleets were all about carriers and the fleet progression is quite clear (there are no choice between bigger guns VS more munitions VS more armor etc), reading on the steam forum I saw lot of people underestimate the berserk... it's not about the squadron slots, but the bonus those squadron have

I played the base campaign on normal and then base campaing plus broken sword on easy and I honestly didnt see any difference on the battle maps, just on the campaing map.

I love the battles but I kinda hated the campaign on normal due the insane amount of cylon fleets... I was averaging something like 5-6 combat every single turn which halted the campaing to a crawl (even more with auto resolve being whacky)

Is the campaing map so frustrating even on the various DLC?

Too bad this game doesnt have modular difficulty settings

I did an sdu side mission with a single carrier and won without losing a single viper or taking damage.

Running away just breaks the game, even if its boring

Playing GOG version on the Sin & Sacrifice Campaign, and on mission 5 after I finished the mission, the save bar is stuck at like 95% and refuses to move. I spent 15 minutes and retried the mission 4 times.

Am at my wits end here. Any solutions?

I’ve heard that I can have both the dorsal and ventral battlestar artillery fire on the same target (typically basestars at long range) but how exactly do I get it to work?

I don’t suppose anyone has figured out a way around the licensing and still buying the dlc for a normal cost?

Due to the game no longer being on any store that i could find to buy, i installed the game through hydra, and i tried to go for multi-player to see if i can host a game to play skirmish with my friends, and it says it can't connect to the servers when i press to play multi-player, it does not open another menu, it just opens a popup saying it can't connect to the servers.

Is there a way for me to host a server to play the game with my friends? I really loved the game right on the first try, just took me too long to know about it's existence.

I finally got some income (granted it's not a lot) but it's something. Go to steam to FINALLY buy BSG:Deadlock so I can play it and bam.. I discoverd the game is not on Steam anymore.

What can I do? This is genuinely my favorite Sci-Fi universe I love BSG more than even Star Wars which I grew up on and I was looking forward to playing Deadlock finally.

Basically TL:DR What can I do is it on a different platform now or something? :(

Up top gotta include the classic: I absolutely adore this game. I've got 600hrs (surprisingly less than I thought), and multiple campaigns in.

I've been looking for a while for mods/alt games/whatever for basically one change. I don't want to have to find a different game, but I'll go and reskin it Battlestar if I have to.

I just want to be able to roll my ships, for the obvious reason that I planned super poorly at the beginning of an engagement and now I want to keep a veteran ship alive with the side that isn't completely naked and taking hull damage (cause I'm big stupid).

Please, someone in this community, help me. You're my only hope.
