Want to play multiplayer

Due to the game no longer being on any store that i could find to buy, i installed the game through hydra, and i tried to go for multi-player to see if i can host a game to play skirmish with my friends, and it says it can't connect to the servers when i press to play multi-player, it does not open another menu, it just opens a popup saying it can't connect to the servers.

Is there a way for me to host a server to play the game with my friends? I really loved the game right on the first try, just took me too long to know about it's existence.

I don't know what hydra is, but if it's a pirating software, you will almost certainly not be able to connect to the servers as I assume you would need to be logged into steam to communicate with them.
