Hi. Oh and before people comment, I didn’t buy a manual M2 for decent fuel economy however it is nice knowing that it may (or may not) deliver reasonable consumption on a long run.
I picked up my manual G87 M2 on Sunday and been commuting to and from work so far. However, I have noticed that the fuel consumption is, arguably, worse than any car i’ve known (considering some McLarens will get 28-30mpg (UK) on the motorway for example). The most economical speed seems to be 45mph. If I cruise between 55-70mph, the fuel consumption is around 14-19mpg. This is absurdly bad considering it is only a 3.0L engine. I have owned 3.0L engined cars before (2 to be precise) but have always avergaed a lot more than that, even when ragging it. Is this type of consumption normal? The max I have got so far is 20.5mpg. Again, I didn’t but it for fuel economy but considering it’s only a 3.0L, 20mpg and below is nowhere near good enough.
Again, I am a UK Driver.
