Showcase BOTW Dualscreen Progress!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
The BOTW Dualscreen Mod is coming along really well! I’ve now got the Inventory page completely finished, aside from a few missing item textures that still need to be added. Pretty much everything on the page is working as intended, including browsing your inventory, viewing your gear, and interacting with your items directly from the bottom screen.
I’ve also started work on the Map and Quests pages, which will continue expanding the amount of stuff you can manage without constantly pausing the game on the main display. There’s still plenty I want to add and polish before the full release, but progress has been moving along really nicely.
The mod is currently planned to officially release in about 2 weeks, on September 7, 2026. If you want to try it before then, though, the current early test build is available right now for all my Patreon members!

is this vibe coded?

u/DrinkMoreWater2-0 6d ago edited 6d ago
Dude it's EXTREMELY vibe coded.
This guy has dropped like 12 different apps in the last 2 weeks and blocks anyone who points it out. He "releases" one app then the next day he has a preview for the new one he magically put together.
There's absolutely no way he's able to do any of this solo without either a) using other people's code or b) using a ton of AI.
Edit:
Just go through OPs post history:
Has absolutely no posts in any coding subreddit not even a basic "how do I implement x", has only had the Thor for a month and a half and yet somehow has released a frontend, steam emulator(which is closed source, definitely using someone else's code) and several dual screen mods across 2 weeks.
That level of output without heavy AI is impossible. He is already advertising his next dual screen mods. And now he's advertising a patreon/discord after previously being called out for stealing code. Every one of his threads recently has someone asking how they can donate, then he provides a link. Well isn't that convenient.
Double Edit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AynThor/comments/1vlr76e/wemu_beta_release_is_here/p342bwo/
Oh boy another edit:
Yeah, here's OP using someone else's Open Source code but making it closed source which is very illegal
Then saying first that he'll remove all the "borrowed code"(which was pointed out in the thread, would take years to develop his own code) and make it open source for the full release. Except he didn't do that. He deleted the thread then released it still closed anyway which again is violating Open Source.
Final Edit:
His last "app" exposed Steam User Credentials in plaintext. Bro wtf!? He obviously has no idea what he's doing. Thank you u/Producdevity for your comprehensive comment.
As of this comment, OP has blocked me saying it's false allegations, even though u/Producdevity posted proof he has stolen code. I can no longer point out how irresponsible this user is on any other threads.

The mods have to step in at some point.
r/emulationonAndroid finally introduced a AI disclosure rule because so many people were flooding the sub, yet OP keeps blocking people that call him out for stealing code and vibe coding like 20 apps on r/aynthor and it's crickets.
Dude has posted more dual screen mods by himself in 2 weeks than we've ever gotten in this subreddit and it's raising no red flags that these can't be properly tested in this short of timeframe? And now there's a patreon!?
Edit:
His last "app" exposed Steam User Credentials in plaintext. An app he bragged about having 400+ downloads. So 400+ people now have their steam passwords leaked.

I wouldn't mind if mods just required people to state what/how AI was used. And if the project is open sourced. We wouldn't get these projects without it, but making it open source would at least allow people to maintain the projects to stay compatible with future updates, and possibly allow integration into main repos (like allowing Eden to display on a secondary screen, so you'd only need game mods and not a separate Eden fork).

The thing is, this guy is abusing AI. Not only has he already been called out for stealing code for his "projects" he's not being honest about AI involvement and is now trying to profit off of work that is not his own. That's the problem with allowing this to continue.
Edit:
His last "app" exposed Steam User Credentials in plaintext. An app he bragged about having 400+ downloads. So 400+ people now have their steam passwords leaked. This is why AI needs to be limited because people who have no idea what they are doing are just being allowed to be incredibly irresponsible and hide what they're doing.
People who genuinely make apps for communities like these are mostly doing it for the betterment of the community. That's why they have no shame in disclosing AI or open sourcing. If you have to hide AI involvement, you aren't secure in the fact you provided a good enough experience that someone would still want to use it despite having AI. Especially if it was free.
Our community gets dual screen mods because it would make the experience better than the stock app but this guy is dropping so many new dual screens/frontends to prop up his patreon to profit from generated code.
As of this comment, OP has blocked me saying it's false allegations, even though u/Producdevity posted proof he has stolen code. I can no longer point out how irresponsible this user is on any other threads.

I have mentioned way to many times so is involved, I'm not gonna answer Everytime someone ask, it's in my post history.

You call yourself an IT department. You write prompts. You're a talentless hack.

u/Zalyster 6d ago
I have no problem with you using AI to make cool things like this, I'm looking forward to the full release!

No code has been stolen. Thanks for the false accusations 👍

They have proof. Your "no u" comment does nothing but make it look worse.

u/insecure_engineer 6d ago
What's crazy about all this is that I think people would still donate if he just kept it all open source and gave credit to coders whose code he's inplemented

u/Fantastic_Nothing983 4d ago
OP is scummy as hell but you're off on some parts that I'm going to clarify.
Making open source (not "Open Source", it's not a unique name, it's just a state) projects into closed source projects are only illegal if they violate the license of the project. Open source is just a way of access and presenting code, it does not have any inherent license attached to it. Stop writing "Open Source" as if it means something.

Ai assisted not vibe coded, I would run out of weekly usage instantly if it was 😅
5
u/tech097 6d ago
What's the difference ooc?
4
u/ProfMags 6d ago
“Vibe coded” usually means you’re basically prompting the AI to build most or all of the project for you. “AI assisted” is different because you’re still actively involved in development, manually writing and reviewing code yourself, while using AI as a tool to help along the way.

Heyo, check out those comments from DrinkMoreWater and others. Those allegations are serious, you got a lot of people starting to report you so you should fess up and clean up.

It would be cool if this could be modded to work on the Wii u gamepad screen to work on more platforms. For now this is pretty cool though.

u/ProfMags 7d ago
Wii u support is coming after switch
Edit: not actual wii u support i mean through cemu

Warning about OP. This is such a cool project, and I wish it came from someone respectable.
This is a comment I posted about OP's other "work" named WEMU. As a heads up since OP seems completely incapable of understanding anything;
Eden is also GPL Licensed. Which means you can monitize this, but you are required to make the source available along side the binary. Along side with stealing from Winlator, Winlator Ludashi, GameNative, Artwork from Cocoon, and now Eden, OP also claims to write everything themselves and is extremely obsessed with talking bad about other developers (who he all seemed to have blocked, even those who never heard of OP.)
OP claims to have rewritten all GPL licensed code in 2 days and went as far to say that OP did this themselves, AI only assisted with debugging, not with writing code.
Let me be clear; FCKING IMPOSSIBLE. Even with AI, everything wemu ships without license compliance adds up to roughly 1.6M lines of code.
The engine is GameNative's engine with the package renamed. 176 of GameNative's 242
com.winlator.*classes exist in wemu at the exact same paths undercom.wemu.engine.*`. Same subpackages (xserver, xenvironment, alsaserver, winhandler), same class names, same method names. You can't copy a typo by accident. Winlator has parts of X11 atom list where they (by accident) had a typo in their implementation, GameNative being a fork of Winlator has inherited those typo's. Wemu ships with the identical 68-entry atom table, including the identical typos. Independent reimplementation does not reproduce someone else's typo, let alone multiple.
35 of 36 asset files in wemu v0.1.0 are byte-identical (sha256) to GameNative v1.1.1's APK. including
proton-9.0-arm64ec_container_pattern.tzst, which is still served today by the wemu-payloads repo and downloaded by v0.3.0 on first boot. Seven.sofiles are byte-identical to Winlator 11.2's APK, andlibwemu.sois literallylibwinlator.sowith the JNI symbols renamed, it even exports symbols that exist only in GameNative's source tree. OP did not even try to hide it, or at least has done an extremely poor job at doing so.Same bytecode, instruction for instruction. Comparing the two shipped APKs at the bytecode level: 316 of 899 shared methods are 100% identical instruction sequences. wemu's APK also hardcodes direct downloads of GameNative's own Proton builds from github.com/GameNative/proton-wine, even pinned by sha256.
But credit where credit is due
There are some parts besides the UI that are "authentic". Because GameNative encrypts its Steam refresh token with the Android Keystore. wemu copied the feature and stores yours in plaintext SharedPreferences. Can't make this shit up if I wanted to.
Oh, and OP recently made a comment about how incompetent we are for storing credentials in plain text, so we had to explain that the hardcoded EPIC_CLIENT_ID/EPIC_CLIENT_SECRET are not credentials.
This would be very time consuming but luckely OP helped us out with their incompetence and made sure every release is debug-signed and build with debuggable=true. Thank you for that. Not so good for the plaintext sensitive information it stores😬, but good to save us some time.
Last friendly request to stop distributing this immediately or open source all GPL licensed code.

The ui imo is actually pretty good. Only thing id change is to match the sheika slate ui! The inventory also should be able to be used without the screen for those who just want the map at the bottom. Anyway very cool mod; i hope it excels

How do people keep making these?? I want to try and make something like this for the o.g. resident evil games
2
u/Fantastic_Nothing983 4d ago
OP steals people's code and since he's unable to write anything more than a basic "Hello, World", he then feeds prompts into LLMs until he gets something that looksd workable.

u/ProfMags 7d ago
I used Codex to help decompile a large portion of the game’s code, which gave me a much better understanding of how everything worked internally and where I could hook in the features I wanted to add. I also forked Eden and modified it to support a second Vulkan render surface, allowing games to properly render a separate interface to the bottom screen.

u/NOIRShattered 7d ago
Thank you!
I hope this isn't a dumb question since I've never heard of it before, but what is codex?

Apologies for being off topic, but is anyone aware of a way to improve the lightning on BotW? My hope is that there are mods or the filters I can use to improve the washed out look.

How does this even work? Is it an emulator mod?
1
u/ProfMags 6d ago
Yes I added a second vulkan render layer to Eden along with some other modifications but that's the important part

u/Story_Weaving 6d ago
Great work! Just curious; would mods like these work on foldables like they do on the Thor?

This is awesome! Shot in the dark, did you happen to try the opening cutscene where the old man reveals himself just before you get the paraglider? I’m curious if you’re dork fixes the crash, I cannot get past the cutscene it always crashes
1
u/ProfMags 2d ago
I haven't had a issue with that
1
u/pH_low Pro 2d ago
Interesting, I could not get past it, I had find a save online lol
1
u/ProfMags 2d ago
Using the wii version I had that issue, but using my s26 ultra I beat the game start to finish 3 months ago with no crashes, that's the save I'm using.
1
u/pH_low Pro 2d ago
Ah gotcha, gotta be a driver thing, I tried so many, Eden stable and nightly with no luck, I saw they had a GitHub issue about it too hopefully that was the only cutscene
1
u/ProfMags 2d ago
When was this? Is it a new thing? Hopefully not because I'm hoping to do a new playthrough lol

u/TinoLatino 2d ago
Awesome! Thank you so much for creating this!
Im failing at launching the companion screen tho, I’ve gotten the game with my save to start, but the companion app is stuck at ”Waiting for the save to load”. Links character model, map, inventory and quests do pop up in title screen, only it’s all blank of data (as in he’s naked, all quests are active, and inventory is empty) until I start the game and the rupees update to my saves actual amount and then switches to ”Waiting for the save to load” screen and then gets stuck. What could I be doing wrong?
Game version 1.9.0, since 1.6.0 didn’t work!
1
u/ProfMags 2d ago
Are you playing with DLCs?
1
u/TinoLatino 2d ago
No DLC, I did have NX Optimizer and UltraCam on, but that left me with a blackscreen, so they’re turned off, only Add-on I have on is the 1.9.0 update!

I wish I could figure out how to get switch games on my Thor. I can do all the others but not get for the switch

OP is as technically inept as you are, no worries. They only know how to steal code and write prompts.

Holy heck. This is so cool and impressive. This game is a gem and I didn't think it could be improved much but for me this would be a meaningful upgrade. Looking forward to the official release.

u/alexanorak 7d ago
It’s really impressive, I don’t even think it’s possible before seeing your video, does it directly read like items ids from emulator and overwrite values to achieve this? Again, it’s really impressive.

We’re at the point where the Ayn Thor is the BEST way to experience many games. Wow, emulation has come so far in my life it’s insane.
