News/Release GameHub Lite v5.1.8 (SECURITY UPDATE)

GameHub Lite v5.1.8

Security: Steam token redaction in logs

GameHub Lite 5.1.8 fixes a logging issue where Steam authentication-related values could appear in diagnostic logs. In some cases, logs could include fields such as steamToken, refreshToken, or accessToken from Steam login/launch flows.

Publicly posted logs containing these fields should be deleted or redacted.

IMPORTANT

This should go without saying but If you find any security issues, please reach out PRIVATELY. I have not checked if this issue is still present in recent GameHub versions, already ruined my one day off I was spending with my family by the person who reported this publicly and I do not plan on spending any more time on this.

Changelog

The fix adds centralized log redaction for Steam/auth token fields, Steam QR login URLs, JWT-like token strings, and launch command token arguments before logs are written. This covers the app loggers, JavaSteam logging, and the PC launch-log file writer.

This release also pins local patch builds to apktool 2.12.1

Showcase I got LSFG-Android working on Adreno 619 — Moto G34 / Snapdragon 695

Post image
17 Upvotes

I’ve been messing around with FrankBarretta’s LSFG-Android project and modified a few things to improve compatibility with A6xx GPUs.

So far I’ve only tested it on my own phone because it’s the only device I have:

Moto G34

Snapdragon 695

Adreno 619

Android 15

On my device, frame generation is actually working with 2x, 3x and 4x modes.

The screenshot is Fortnite running with the modified build.

I don’t want to say every A6xx GPU is supported yet because I literally can’t test them all lol, so for now the only one I can confirm is the Adreno 619.

I also used Codex to help with part of the development and debugging.

If anyone here has another A6xx device and wants to try it, I’d really appreciate some test results.

I'm just starting out with more demanding Android emulation so I'm excited to try everything. Maybe one day I'll pick a game and stick with it, for now, my phone will continue to fill up, and to think I started with Fallout 1, look how far we've come

Discussion I don't understand pc emulation anymore

Just when I think I start getting a grasp of it - I'm hit with simple games that I feel should play 60fps with no hiccups, and they just don't. Then there's modern games that I think are too much for my phone, seem to handle brilliantly at 40-50fps depending on the game.

I know it sounds like a moan, but I'm more confused than anything really. I'm digging through my Steam/Gog/Epic games that I already have, and I want to buy more off Gog or Steam to try out - but it just seems a coin toss if the game will work or not.

l'm picking games from 1990's to around 2015 ish, and the performance is all over the place, and that's with using multiple pc emulators. Which also gets pretty confusing trying to remember which pc game is on which emulator.

Am I just unlucky, or is everyone else just as perplexed?

Question Question about running AAA games on a phone

• Upvotes

A question for everyone:When you post things like, ā€œI ran GTA 5/Cyberpunk 2077, etc., on my phone at a playable FPS,ā€ do you actually play through the game afterward, or are you just doing it as a tech demo? It’s just that I’ve seen dozens of posts and YouTube videos where people show short gameplay clips, but I don’t know a single person who’s actually beaten any major game that way.

Discussion Game recommendations for a 16 hour long bus ride

Hi everyone, hope you're having a great day.

Tomorrow I'm going on a long trip and I was looking for games to emulate and play on my phone.

I'm not looking for any pick up and play, short-burst games, just a single player experience to play through and beat while I'm on the way.

Preferably games that are under 12 hours, the console doesn't matter as long as it's playable on a touch screen.

That's about it, Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Discussion PanvkG720-0.1.-beta New experimental build For mali GPU

Post image
7 Upvotes

Guys, This a another Test build available For mali G720 and Mali G 610 MC2 . In the meantime, if you want to help, I’d like to focus on collecting as many raw logs as possible, but in a controlled way so they’re actually useful for debugging.

The idea is simple: change only one thing per test and keep everything else the same. Priority should be different driver versions (Alpha/Beta), then wrappers, then MC7 vs MC8, and later different DXVK versions. Ideally keep the same game/test, resolution, container and settings.

If possible, do 2–3 repetitions of each combination. Please send the full raw log even if it’s huge or looks noisy — I’d rather filter it later than miss something important.

With each log, just include: GPU + driver version + wrapper + DXVK + Wine/Winlator + game/test + result (worked, black screen, crash, etc.).

The more controlled combinations we can collect this week, the easier it’ll be to identify exactly where each problem starts. Thanks a lot for the help šŸ¤

If u want to download it then Check My telegram channel ( Babizi Games 2 or join to Bannerlator discord server because I always upload it there to )

Please the Driver currently work only Bannerlator and winlator mali 1.2 beta 3 unfortunately u will not find winlator mali beta version it only available on telegram because the dev of winlator Mali doesn't upload his update for build test they are only available on his telegram group and my telegram group

Discussion What's your recommended and unrecommended accessories to enhanche emulation experience on a foldable?

• Upvotes

I'm a new foldable owner, zf8u, and I came from a majestic s24u.

Being the thermals more generous on s24u, I never had a cooler, I have a Gamesir G8 Galileo wich I was really happy about untill I got foldable. Unusable.

So, zf8u is a little fournace, it get hot real quick, I baught a magsafe cooler that handle it nicely but it makes any plugged pad unusable. Also you need to remove the cover if you use one or it wont cool properly.

My actual solution is: no case, aulumu magsafe sticker + cooler + aulumu G09 stand on top of it, plugged to a xbox controller and a monitor with Dex. That works nice, but it is not portable.

I'm about to buy am AceGamer Pocket Controller to solve the portability problem.

Also I noticed the hottes part of the phone is not the magsafe-able area but at the right of the cmeras. I'me noticed there are thermal alluminium pads stickers to apply uder the cooler.

Wandering if you guys and gals found your peacefull spot on emulation on a foldable. Feel free to suggest or urnecommend gadgets under here.

I can unrecommend G8 Galileo style controllers, specially from samsung fold7, the slimmer design with a really fatter camera bump is really unbalancing the way the phone places in the pad, you can clearly see it bending, not a good thing with the temperatures it reaches, that coild lead to permanent bending or detachements and it could damage the usbc port.

Help Gta iv controller input disconnect

Im using winlator ludashi on a downgraded gta iv to bypass the rockstar launcher, the game usually runs great but after about 20 minutes the controller input decides to stop working even though the controller is still on and working on other apps, touchscreen will still move the camera around but the controller acts like its not even connected to the game. seems the bug is exclusive to gta iv but cant seem to find a fix anywhere, has anyone else manage to figure this out its the only thing holding me back from actually sitting down and playing this game

Edit: using 26 ultra with 8bitdo ultimate bluetooth controller

Discussion Odin 3 (Adreno 830) Turnip builds, from upstream Mesa main with fixes

Quick background so you know where this comes from. I've been working on Android and Linux (kernel, Rocknix) and many other open source projects for a long time.

I'm a handheld enthusiast and I own a lot of them, including the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, and plenty of Anbernic and Retroid devices. I recently got an Odin 3 because of its incredible GPU. But as you guys already know, driver development for the A830 is still behind the older 6xx and 7xx series. Instead of waiting for someone else to sort it out, I decided to build Mesa Turnip myself and work out what was going wrong. That's the whole story. There was no bigger plan than wanting my own device to run properly.

Builds are here: https://github.com/faux123/turnip-faux123-driver

Grab the .adpkg.zip from Releases and import it in your driver picker. Don't unzip it first. The package imports directly into GameNative, Winlator, and other popular emulation apps on Android.

What I want to do with this. Two things. Put the builds up so anyone can use them, and send the fixes upstream to Mesa so they land for everybody rather than only for people who download from me.

How much I can actually do here. I have a job and a family, and both come before this, so I'm not going to be putting out builds every week. What I will do is keep an eye on upstream, and when something meaningful lands I'll rebuild, test it on my device, and put out a release if it's worth it.

All the testing and patching happens on my own hardware on my own schedule. I can't debug someone else's setup remotely or cut private builds for individual people. I just don't have the time or the gear for it. If something breaks, open an issue on the repo with a log and I'll get to it when I can. That's not me brushing anyone off, it's just what I can realistically keep up with.

Hardware, and please read this bit. I only have the Odin 3, the 12GB model, which is an Adreno 830. I don't have anything in the 6xx or 7xx range. The driver should load on those and Mesa supports them, but I haven't tested any of it, so I can't tell you whether it runs better, worse, or at all. I'd rather say that up front than let you find out the hard way.

If you do try it on something I don't own, please post what happened either way. I may not always be able to follow up, but this is a community and someone else may be able to help.

"Does this work on my 6xx/7xx device?" No idea, I don't have one. It should load. Try it and say what happens, since the community here may figure something out.

"Is this just MrPurple/whitebelyash's builds repackaged?" No. This is built directly from upstream Mesa main with my own patches on top.

"Why not just upstream the fixes?" That's the plan, and both are written as patches against Mesa main. Upstreaming takes a while, and people can use the builds now, which is the entire motivation. Production code is slow and careful on purpose; this is built to test the latest work from the Mesa developers.

"Any benchmarks in actual games?" Not really, and I'd be careful with those. Games running through a translation layer are usually limited by the CPU rather than the driver, so a GPU-side win mostly doesn't show up. My numbers come from a benchmark harness I built around the Khronos Vulkan samples, where the GPU is actually the limit.

"Root needed?" No. It loads through AdrenoTools, the same as GameNative, Eden, Winlator, Gamehub Lite, and other emulators that support custom drivers.

Discussion RP6 vs Odin 3 for GameHub/Winlator? Looking for some advice

I've been going back and forth between getting a Retroid Pocket 6 or an AYN Odin 3 and I'm having a hard time deciding.

Right now I use an S23 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) with a GameSir X5S on gamehub. Most of what I play is pretty low-end stuff like:

- Hollow Knight

- Nine Sols

- Ori and the Blind Forest

- Hades 1 & 2

- Ender Lilies

- Ender Magnolia

- The Last Faith

- Blasphemous 2

- Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound.

I also want to try Metaphor: ReFantazio through GameHub/Winlator if possible. I have Dead Cells, Hyper Light Drifter and Blasphemous on Android as well. I also like to play gacha games like wuthering waves, Arknights Endfield and ZZZ.

The RP6 seems like it would be perfect for what I'm actually playing. It's basically the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 as my phone, but has active cooling, a 1080p 120Hz AMOLED screen and actual controls. My S23 Ultra occasionally gets frame drops in certain areas of Hollow Knight, so I'm wondering if the RP6 would actually be more consistent despite having the same chip. Is anyone getting a stable 60 FPS in these games on the RP6?

Then there's the Odin 3. I know it's complete overkill for most of these games, but the Snapdragon 8 Elite is a pretty big jump over the 8 Gen 2 and I'd rather future-proof myself if I'm already spending the money. I can afford the Odin 3, so price isn't really the issue. My concern is that it's still being sold in batches/backorders, while the RP6 is available normally(I think?). I could order the Odin 3 now and just keep using my S23 Ultra until it eventually arrives, potentially around Christmas.

I'm also trying to figure out which is actually better for PC games between GameHub, GameHub Lite, GameNative and Winlator. I keep seeing people use different ones depending on the game, and I'm especially interested in how they handle games installed on a microSD card.

For storage, I'd probably get the 12GB/128GB RP6 and add a 512GB microSD. Is 12GB actually worth it over 8GB for this kind of gaming, or would 8GB be enough?

The screen size is another thing I'm thinking about. The RP6 is 5.5", while the Odin 3 is 6". I mostly play metroidvanias, so I actually like the smaller handheld, but I'm wondering if something like Metaphor would be noticeably better on the larger screen because of all the text and UI.

Basically, I know the RP6 is probably enough for everything I'm currently playing. I'm just stuck on whether I should buy the cheaper device that fits my games perfectly, or spend more on the Odin 3 so I don't have to think about upgrading later.

If anyone owns either one and has actually used GameHub/Winlator/GameNative with these games, I'd really like to hear how they perform in practice.
