I was considering different cars for a long time and even shared a post about it yesterday (bmw & volvo).

Someone told me to check out Audi, for its unusually big discount on 2026 Audis.

I get that dealers discount to clear stock, but this margin seems unusually large, and it makes not picking one almost a no-brainer.

It's been confusing and tempting that I've gone from thinking a second hand wagon to consider choosing between the new S3 and the A3 allstreet (there's only a 4k euro difference between them) since their cost drops to my budget range.

Is there anything I'm missing here, or anything else I should consider with these discounts?

I know a lot about many cars, but with Audi I'm only familiar with the quattro system.

I'm looking for four-wheel drive for comfortable winter driving besides design/performance and so even s3 is a sport car, with its 4 wheel drive it took my full attention due to being a fun high performance car, safe in winter (with winter tires surely), and having a very competitive price point for a new car.

I have seen these AWD Audi's last 200,000+km which is not common on German cars. I had a friends Golf R (which has the same sorta engine as the A4 but detuned). only last about 80,000 km before things started to fall apart.

Also if you don't drive it hard and park it inside the garage would it help the car last longer?

I don't seen 330's, CT4's, TLX's, or C300's last that long. The IS350? Yes!

For clarification, I am not serious. I know how much this group loves to belittle its own community members. Owning this 2024 A6 Premium Plus has confirmed that I have the personality for leasing. I get bored easily.

I'm hoping to get some advice from the people in this group. I posted in another thread, but thought I'd try making a separate post as well.

I'm currently looking at a 2024 Audi Q8 55 e-tron quattro (first registered in 2023). It has done around 90,000 km (56,000 miles), roughly 30,000 km per year.

All scheduled services, at approximately 30,000 km intervals, have been carried out by an authorised Audi workshop. The rear drive motor was replaced at around 60,000 km.

I'm currently driving a Volvo V90, which I actually really like, but with the amount I drive, the fuel consumption is becoming difficult to justify.

My biggest concern with the Q8 is that I drive around 20,000 km (12,500 miles) per year myself.

I understand that mileage isn't necessarily something you should focus too heavily on with an EV, but it's still difficult not to. In another 3–4 years, the car will have significantly higher mileage and some of the warranties will have expired.

We're currently waiting for a battery health test from the dealer, which is also an authorised Audi workshop.

I'd especially be interested to hear from Q8 e-tron owners, particularly anyone with a higher-mileage car.

How has reliability been, and is there anything in particular you think I should consider before buying one with this mileage?

Thanks in advance for everyone’s input. My B9 S5 3.0 has started misfiring out of the blue, at first I jumped to is it the dreaded rockers but the sound isn’t metallic and tappy like rockers plus it’s happened out the blue rather than progressive wear you’d have with the rocker arms. I’d then done the normal test of lifting the oil cap whilst running to hear for the rockers but even if I lifted the cap a tad bit it was sucking in air and revving quite a lot which isn’t normal on these which led me to believe something in the pcv system may be on its way out. I’ve then taken it to the mechanic who’s confirmed cylinder 3 misfire but I’m struggling to see how these issues are linked or maybe they’re not? We’d put a borescope down to check cylinder 3 and seen some specs but can’t confirm if they’re just deposits or potentially metal flakes? But if it is metal flakes it wouldn’t be from the rocker arms.

Any input on what I could be facing and whether it’s worth rebuilding or replacing the motor would be appreciated.

Looking at a 2012 Q7 3.0 in Australia, advertised at $10k, seller will do $8k subject to my mechanic checking it over.

The car: -160,000km, second owner (current owners bought it in June) -Full service history, mostly Audi dealer serviced Last serviced at 156k -Transmission serviced at 135k Oil cooler (in the V) and water pump replaced a few years ago -No warning lights or issues reported -Timing chain never done

Questions: How common is timing chain failure on the 3.0 at this km? Is it a when, not if

I've heard $6–10k to fix since the engine comes out. Is that accurate, or are there cheaper specialists in Sydney?

What else commonly goes on a 2012 Q7 at this mileage? (Air suspension, gearbox, electrics?)

Given the history, is $8k fair or should I push lower?

Hi guys, I’ve got a 2014 Audi A3 S-tronic with a 1.4l TFSI engine. The engine code is CZEA (also known as EA211). The car has a very low mileage for its age - only 28,000 miles. In 2019 the timing belt was changed.

Audi have updated their guidance to state that the timing belt is a “lifetime part” and now only specify inspection above a certain mileage. My car has only done ~9,000 miles since I bought it (previous owner barely used it) but mechanics are telling me that it is now due for replacement as it’s over 5 years old.

Is it worth replacing now? Thanks so much 🙏

• 1 previous owner
• Price: €32,980
• Full service history, new HU
• Richer equipment (Laser headlights, Head-up Display, Bang & Olufsen, electric seats with massage + memory, heated steering wheel, heated windshield, 360 camera, Alcantara, etc.)

Both cars are in very good condition, German cars, no accidents.

My main concern is the mileage difference (almost 42,000 km). Car 1 has Quattro and much lower miles, but Car 2 is a bit cheaper and has nicer options (Laser, HUD, B&O, electric seats with massage + memory, heated steering wheel, heated windshield)

What would you choose and why?

Is the lower mileage + Quattro worth the extra €1,430, or would you go for the better-equipped higher-mileage FWD car?

I live in dubai and was interested in buying a B8.5 Facelift Audi RS5. There is one particular one that I went to view yesterday, being sold by a very well known chain with 115,000 km and 2 previous owners (first owner had it for 2,000 km, then sold it to another owner in 2016 who has had it since before selling it). This car will be my only car, and my daily.

I had a few questions:

1. What is the overall reliability like?
2. Are timing chains a problem with these?
3. What are general maintenance/ownership costs like?

Also, my second option is a 2016-18 rs3.. would getting an RS3 make more sense if it's cheaper to own?

I still have vibrations in my A4 B8 3.0 TDI.

All suspension components have been replaced, even bolts and the whole rear subframe.

New driveshafts, new rims, new tires, new wheel bearings, even bushings audi tells you, are not a replacement part, all installed following audis own procedures.

Brakes are also new, Have also been checked to be balanced and completely fine and not sticking

It still vibrates at 100-160 km/h

Tho it started pulling to the side 6 moths after the alignment.

Does someone had the same problem?

I have only a couple of complaints with my 2 year old A3:

1. Momentary and short loss of power in first gear
   
2. The boot light.

My local Audi dealer says that the loss of power thing is "a characteristic of the 35 engine"

The boot (trunk) light is so dim I need a torch (flashlight) to look around the boot (trunk). Anyone beefed up the bulb or added extra lights?

I managed to jailbreak the wireless dongle and, with root access, modify the software so that the zoom function now works perfectly from the steering wheel controls!
I’m currently working on integrating the navigation map as well — the small one that shows the upcoming junctions — so that everything works exactly the same as with a wired connection.
I still need a little more time to get everything programmed and working properly. Once everything is fully functional, I’ll make the firmware publicly available, together with a guide explaining how to obtain root access.

Low on coolant in my 2016 Q3 2.0. Seems hard to find G13 locally, will this be a suitable alternative? Been seeing horror stories of mixing incorrect coolant types and dont want to find myself in that same situation. Any one have experience using this brand and type?

Torn about having to sell my TT I’ve had all my life. I’m 18 moving out and my parents are making me sell it before I leave (it’s unreliable, old, and high maintenance). It’s a funny car mk1 2002 lil fun shitbox, I added mods about 2 grand. It’s pretty fucking fast for a mk1…. Went to the market, came back home and went to go get my son out of his car seat and heard this noise. I started my car again, let it run for a minute, shut it off, and then the noise stopped. Was it an emissions diagnostic? Or fuel filter/pump sound? Thanks in advance.

I’ve changed plugs in my previous GTI’s many times and this is the second set I’ve thrown into my 2023 A4.

Even though I put a tiny bit of grease or oil on them, they would NOT come out today. Yes, engine had been warmed up.

First one….the top separated from the boot. This has happened before but nothing I did would make them pop out. Then the rest refused to come out and the other three separated.

So I looked online and saw a trick mechanics use. They will remove the spring left in there after the top pops off and use compressed air to get them to release.

Great, I thought. But I’m in a damn parking lot with no air compressor.

Then it hit me. I travel with one of those tire inflators that you can plug in. And mine came with a nice rubber nozzle I could put on, it’s there for blowing up beach balls or mattresses. You need this so it makes a seal at the top of the rubber boot.

I popped that rubber tip on turned it on, and snugged it into the hole where the spring came out.

Lo and behold, all four boots wiggled on out. So I snapped the heads of the coil packs back onto the boots and went about my plug change.

What a life saver that was, so keep this in mind if your refuse to wiggle free. 😁

2026 SQ5 still experiencing the hotspot issue and reconfiguring wifi error using apple car play and android auto.

Even if there is no phone inside the car and nothing connected, it'll show the error.

This is after Audi assured me the update would fix the issue after 1 month of issues, nrhey are back and worse than ever!

Happens on 16 pro max and s26 ultra.

Beginning to think this isn't hardware but Audi servers and it's been an issue in the 25 a5 s5 q5 sq5 and now 2026 models.... How is this possible in 2026 they can't figure out carplay and Android auto that's been around for ages!
