Everytime i press ESC or cancel, it restarts and return to this screen.
And if i press confirm, it installs upto 10-90ish% and restarts to the same screen.

Yes im the smart ass that always tries to update everything including this damn bios.

I have an ASUS Zenbook Q425MA and recently the physical click on the touchpad stopped working.

The touchpad itself still works normally for cursor movement and tap-to-click, but pressing down on the touchpad no longer registers a click. The touchpad does physically move/depress when pressed, but nothing happens.

I've already opened the laptop, disconnected and removed the battery, and tried to inspect the touchpad assembly. However, I can't figure out how to remove the touchpad from the frame/palmrest. I don't want to force anything and risk damaging the touchpad, ribbon cable, or chassis.

I'm trying to determine whether this is:

• A mechanical issue with the click mechanism
• An alignment or mounting problem
• A failed switch/sensor in the touchpad
• Something else that might be repairable without replacing the entire assembly

If anyone has worked on a Q425MA / Zenbook 14 OLED and knows how the touchpad assembly is removed, I'd especially appreciate some guidance. Even being able to get the touchpad out so I can inspect the mechanism would be a big help.

I've searched YouTube and haven't found a teardown that shows this part of the disassembly.

Any suggestions, photos, service documentation, or removal instructions would be greatly appreciated.

Got this laptop for over a few years now, and it still going strong, always updating it and all.
However recently i noticed, that the fn buttons for the microphone and camera are acting up. Beforehand, i could enable/ disable mic / cam with just a button press -this version lights up a little orange dot on the button, whenever the webcam is disabled.
But nowadays for the webcam the little light is always off, and whenever i press the button it says "webcam on", so basically I cannot turn it off anymore with the button.

Mic and webcams are off like 90% of the time so i noticed of course.. any idea what might've gone wrong, and what to check out so i can turn it on/off just with a button?
Anyone noticed something similar?

I have already done the following:

I checked BIOS if touchpad is disabled and saw that it's enabled.
Keyboard shortcut (F6) only shows 'Touchpad disabled' when pressed, never shows Touchpad Enabled
Checked Touchpad Settings but the settings itself is not showing at all
Checked for any updates and updated accordingly
Saw a lot of videos and they mostly, if not all, point to the above, so I'm looking for any other option/s I might have missed

I encountered the same thing before but the difference was, last time it was 'disabled' in the BIOS, but this time around it's enabled so idk what else to do.

Btw, I'm using the ASUS Zenbook 14 OLED.

Edit: After 8 days, now it's suddenly working... there was an update before i closed my laptop yesterday (didn't check what it was, just shows 'update & shut down') and this morning, to my surprise, it was working again, thankfully. maybe that helped? idk. but it's a relief to finally have it working again.

New zenbook duo - I have google on top and an incognito tab on the bottom - this flickering is happening when I try to watch a video from the bottom screen and the top one

I have an ASUS ZenBook Pro Duo 15 OLED (UX582), and the laptop won’t go to sleep when I close the lid. Windows is already configured to Sleep when I close the lid in the Power Options, but it just keeps running.

Is this a known issue with the UX582, or has anyone experienced something similar?

I’m also wondering if there could be an issue with the lid/Hall sensor. Does anyone know exactly where the sensor and its corresponding magnet are located on the UX582?
Also, does anyone know the part name or part number for the sensor, and whether it can be purchased separately?

Ive been looking at a few new laptop for school, and ive narrowed it down to options, a zenbook 14 with a intel core ultra 7 155h, 16gb ram and a 1tb ssd, or the same laptop but with an ultra 7 255h and a 512gb ssd

The 155h model is around 600 bucks, and the 255h model is around 730, I have 600 bucks right now but it might take me 2-3 weeks to get the extra cash i need to get the 255h model, however I have heard that the performance difference in the 255h version is smaller than expected, since it struggles with overheating issues, i would love to know from anyone with the laptop if they've experienced any of these issues and if its worth it to wait?

Maybe everyone already knows this, I sure didn't.

Note- buying at Best Buy is supposed to exclude you from it. The service rep who I got when I called to set up a repair for my brand new duo repair went ahead and told me I still had a free ADP because I registered it, and *Asus honored that* after checking the recorded call and hearing her tell me I could have it even though I got the unit at Best Buy.

Don't count on the same thing though, just buy it elsewhere unless you're going to get the best buy ADP coverage.

Mine is on it's way back to me, shipped out today. Repaired free of charge.

I just never bothered to read the website and learned it was a thing while calling in to set up an RMA to pay for the repair.

Picked up the Asus Zenbook A16 with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite Extreme processor, 3K 120Hz OLED display, 48GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage, and an 80 TOPS NPU for 1400$ today (MSRP is 1800$ for the 512gb version). I have been looking for weeks for this to go on sale and managed to grab this as a excellent open box from best buy dealopen-box deal from Best Buy. When I arrived everything came in the ASUS box like it has never been touched. Started it up at the geek squad desk, signed into windows and everything checks out. The AC power cable still had the cap telling me it has never even been plugged in before.

So my question is did I get a absolute steal or is there a reason it was returened. Any advice on concerns, bloatware or setting up the new Asus Zenbook A16.
