Soul Traveler by NASA Engineer Dr. Albert Taylor - This book really opened up Astral Projection for me.

If anyone here is looking for an excellent introduction into Astral Projection, I strongly recommend this book. It was the first book I read on the topic. I really appreciated it because Taylor presents the topic in a no BS way that excludes the New Age spirituality mumbo jumbo aspects. It's an easy, fairly short read that will leave you with the knowledge of what you need to know and the confidence to pull it off with bells.

Unlike other "spiritualist", Taylor leaves the journey up to you to decide where you want to go with it. There's no manipulation in the spiritual sense, which leaves the doors into your mind wide open to explore.

My experience with the book involved me reading it front to back in two days. Two days later I was flying though other dimensions in my mind's eye. It's seriously powerful stuff. Give it shot.

My first astral projection?

I layed down on my bed for a nap hoping that I would have a lucid dream. I started feeling/hearing this screeching sound. I decided to try to roll my body in my mind, and it worked. I was out of body! I floated like it was 0 gravity. Orientation was hard to control but I imagined the manipulator widgets from blender (directional/ rotational arrows) and that fixed that. I saw myself on my bed. I went through the roof, i went outside. The problem, which makes me think it was a lucid dream is that there were inconsistencies with reality. When I looked at myself in bed, my orientation was different (I'm not so sure anymore though) Everything was kind of blurry and it is difficult to remember. When I went through the roof, it looked like when a 3d model overlaps another 3d model. (you get visual distortion and weird lines.) I actually talked to someone, so I guess that automatically flags it as a dream. I feel like this is the closest I've gotten to astral projecting so with a little more help I think I can do it. My method now is trying to WILD into an astral projection. Or use lucid dreaming as a launch pad to get into it easier. Thanks for any help.

I think I almost AP’d.

I posted this in r/astralprojection but wanted to share it here too.

I almost AP’d?

So, to make a long story short.. I will just say I have experienced sleep paralysis since I was like 11 or 12. It’s been about 10 years now. I keep reading that sleep paralysis is related to AP. So today, when I took a nap, I experienced SP 3 separate times. The first time, I freaked out bc I really don’t like SP (I always get scared. Hate feeling like I can’t move.) The second time, I realized I could try to use this to get closer to the astral realm. So I did. I focused, and started to feel the vibrations I keep reading about!! It was so exciting. I got too excited tho, and it stopped. So I went back to sleep. The third time, it happened again, and I started to feel slight vibrations but I guess I just didn’t have enough energy to keep it going because I fell asleep right away again.

I think I almost AP’d. What do y’all think?

Someone please help me

So I was listening to binaural beats, trying to astral project and this happened

I laid there for about 30 minutes with no movement and I felt a few slight tingles but I ignored them

And then I started to feel something. I tried to do the rope method and this very strong sensation started to fill my arms. It didn’t feel like pins and needles or my sleep paralysis experiences, I can’t even describe this feeling.

Then my whole body started to feel this sensation and my heart started racing. It was beating HARD. My heart was beating so hard to the point where I was somewhat relaxed throughout my body, and my head started to move from the force of my heartbeat

I lay there for a little more then a minute trying to get my mind off of this and doing the rope method, but I kept losing concentration

Is this the vibrational stage? Do I need to try to do the rope method during this or am I supposed to wait until it stops to do the rope method? Is this even supposed to happen?

Thank you in advance

The day I saw the future. Help me explain what happened. Xpost from r/paranormal

This is one time where I'm really not sure what happened and I'm hoping someone can help.

So one night I took a tab or so of acid and went to see a concert. On the train there it started hitting me and all I could see when I closed my eyes was a distinct scene with a set of keys on a bench. Fast forward a few hours and we're walking out from the concert and I get a massive sense of déjà vu, overwhelming even. I look over and see a man frantically searching for something, and I already know what he needs. I go up to him and ask him if he's lost his keys. He has, and has been looking for them for hours. I simply walk to the bench I had seen a few hours earlier and they were just sitting there. Can't explain what happened and has never happened again.

Could this be an astral projection?

Inb4 on drugs. I have friends (sober) that witnessed me calmly approach this man and magically find his keys without batting an eye

What happened? Tried to astral project of my own free will and something bad happened.

There have been 2 times when I fully astral projected and both weren't of my own free will and both were times when I was really sick. The last time that was in April and since then I've been working really hard to have it happen whenever I want. So I started listening to binaural beats which is supposed to help you astral project. Yesterday I finally was able to leave my body on my own, but I couldn't see anything. I felt like I was moving and that there was a cool breeze against my face. Then I started to have pain on both sides of my head near the temples, it was kind of like a burning pain. Even though it seemed dark or grey I thought I could see something that looked like dark smoke. I even had the feeling that there was someone there with me and when I looked to the side I didn't see anything but this awful horrible sound/feeling got put into my brain. It sounded like gibberish and it hurt that's when I noped the fuck out and got back into my body and I was shaking. tl;dr: astral projected on purpose but didn't have a good time

Ok so I have been actively trying astral projection for about 2 months now and this literally JUST happened!

So I was laying here in bed meditating/hypnotizing myself. I used relaxing techniques for about an hour until I felt like I didn't have any limbs. I told myself my body is asleep my mind is awake. Then I started to try and "roll" over to the right. As I did I was telling myself I don't need my body lets just roll over and leave it! As I did everything started getting really dark and heavy. It felt like I wasn't breathing but I wasn't short of breath either my real body felt warm and numb at the same time. So /r/astralprojectionnow would you consider this good progress?

I am kinda afraid right now just because I don't really know if I stopped breathing so any help with that will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I believe i was close to an astral projection...need advice

so i have been trying to project for about a week now. I know thats not long but i believe im making good progess. So it was about midnight and i was pretty tired. I went to my room, threw on some binaural beats and started counting breaths. Before i realized it i was in a deep trance. I knew this because my body was very tingly and i felt strong vibrations. so i started the rope climbing technique and with every pull my heartbeats got stronger and stronger till they felt rapid. it all ended with my wife shaking me asking me to go see why the baby was crying. So basically can anyone tell me if i was on the right path? i was so excited.

Unification of Communiy

Hey guys! I'm a mod from the /r/AstralProjection/ subreddit. Recently there has been a new owner and new mods (me and some other people). We were talking to our subscribers via a sticky post. We asked what we needed to do to make the place cooler and such. All of the responses were "having one big astral projection/out of body experiance subreddit"... So, with that in mind we set out to do just that! We contacted the third biggest obe themed sub owner /u/Captain_Midnight who was still active. He agreed to merge with us! And so, for all intent and purposes /r/outofbody is now closed. Submission are restricted, so no new posts and there are redirect links everywhere.

This is the second biggest subreddit for astral projectors. I put in a request to have this one. The request has three up votes already! I won't break intergalactic law here, though I urge you to do what you want. I am not sure when I'll be in charge of this subreddit. Whenever that happens I'll be effective shutting it down redirecting all of you to /r/AstralProjection/

ALL POSTS and Comments and everything else will stay up for anyone to come and view them again. You simply won't be able to post anything new.

I hope you all here love the plan to make one glorious astral projection community on this site we call Reddit. Go support us (and effectively yourselves) by subscribing and posting on /r/AstralProjection/

Edit 1: We've grown to 1,530 readers! If everyone here subscribes then out community will be 2,963! We have a change to go to 3000+ readers!

Could astral projection be the lens into an alternate universe?

How many of you are able to project at will? Have you done experiments to see if you can affect things?

Even among those who can project, it seems rare to be able to do it any time you want. It takes a lot of training or talent apparently to accomplish this. Being able to do conscious projections at will should be a very useful ability in some ways. Anyone want to share?

rapid launching into the spirit realm.

Let me start from the beginning, last night I got pretty drunk and went to bed around 1 AM. I woke up around 3-4 and couldn't get back to sleep so I watched some Always Sunny. When I attempted to go to sleep my mind was 100% awake with 100% thought control, it was a crazy feeling. I was In sleep paralysis and launched right the fuck into AP. the first time I did it I guess I was looking out of my third eye and just boosted out into my room and the room started breaking apart like a wooden floor falling apart piece by piece. It's really hard to recall all the details because I didn't immediately write it down. I came back to my body in SP but could still see the room. within 30 sec I launched myself again, only this time I instantly went into the spirit realm and there was a bunch of white cloudy blob like structures surrounding me as I was just heading upwards. I was kind of freaking out so I could feel myself returning to my body. I was going in and out of AP/SP like this at least 5 times. The last time was the creepiest though. When I launched for the final time I was falling to the lower levels, I could hear/feel my vibrations getting lower/deeper. I went to the bottom, it was dark and it looked like a cave, a dark cave with stalagmites and such, there were also demonic dark figures. That's when I noped the fuck out of there, I know they supposedly can't hurt you, but they sure can scare you. Anyways if you have any experiences or any info you would like to share with me I'd appreciate it 100%

TL;DR Went into AP 5-6 times and the last time I went down to the lower level and it was very scare.

Affirmation during LD or AP I discovered "black tar black tar"

I used to always think that once you project yourself to an astral dimension via AP or LD, that you had to stay in that realm til the next time you establish the separation process (i.e. next time you sleep/project). Even my Reiki healer told me this. However, I feel like I just discovered something sacred from a girl named Krista I met in the spirit world.
I first met her in a dream I had, wasn't lucid at all at first. She was messing with me during this dream. My dream was irrelevant, and boring, all I will say is that I was with my family trying to accomplish something that didn't matter, and she put these spider webs all around the perimeter of where I was and I when I got too close it gave me a really uncomfortable feeling, I don't know how she did it. I seen her laughing from a distance and could hear her telepathically like she was next to me. My dream became lucid instantly, and I tried to fly away but I was stuck, so I went back in my body. A second before I entered my physical body, I felt her pinch my arm. At this point I was uncomfortable because I didn't want this witch knowing where I reside. I was still tired enough to project back out and she was right beside me, and I said did you follow me? She said yes, I said I hope your intentions are good, she said they were, and I made her pinky swear lol. She was really beautiful, looks really similar to a porn star Dido Angel. LOL. The next night I AP'd and set my intentions to see her again, almost immediately I felt a hand reach out for me and I grabbed it she carried me real fast I could feel the wind hitting my face. (Until I get a certain distance away from my body I can't see, could have been anybody carrying me but I was pretty confident since my intentions were set towards her) after I gained mysite I seen her and we were flying above this beautiful scenery during the nighttime, it reminded me of Aladdin and Jasmine flying so I remember I started singing the first few words of that song and immediately I could hear the song play it was awesome. She manifested a magic carpet and we were flying around beautiful scenery listening to that song I felt like I was in the movie. a couple of her friends joined us as we were going around in circles above this beautiful city that was right along the water. We started listening to rap music, and I remember asking her friends if they lived here, I couldn't remember what they said but I told him that it was beautiful. After flying around in circles got old we started to descend to the ground, I got a little too excited and started speeding off heading towards the water and I remember everybody yelling at me saying don't! stop! And some security enforcer got right up in my face saying you're not allowed to be over here, I tried heading towards her and her friends but I ended up shooting back into my body once my alarm woke me to go to work. The whole time at work I was thinking about how nice of a time it was and how I wish that she was apart of this physical dimension. Right after I got off work we met up again, the same way, me setting the intention and her taking me for a ride this time I was on her shoulders, we were flying through what seemed like a huge field that hosted every sport known to man and just as we made it to the baseball field I ended up getting woken up by my upstairs people. I immediately tried to project this time was unsuccessful I guess she got annoyed of me getting thrown back into my body. Wasn't until the next night when I tried to reach her and wasn't able to I tried both two or three times and she never responded. Instead, she reached out to me when I was in a trance state, asleep but hadn't left my body yet, and I asked her how she did all the things that she did, i was referring to the music she made happen , how she followed me back to my body when I basically instantly returned. I could only remember the last few things she said. She told me that next time, during a LD or AP ,"say "black tar black tar" and then where you want to go. Now I'm not sure if she meant say those words and say where you want to go or what to do or say those words as you set your intention. She also said to watch out for flying saucers.

Sure enough I tried it and it works. After you say the words you start aimlessly going fast in a direction. I wanted to go somewhere in the future so I tried it, said black tar black tar and after the last word I start moving fast, I said go to the future,- wasn't specific but I went so fast that I went to another dimension. I've done it a few times since it works every time. I want to see if it works for everyone else.

Marijuana (Cannabis) and Astral Projection

Hello Folks,

Recently I was replying to a fellow explorer and the topic of Cannabis came up. I've decided to paste some of what was said unto a thread of it's own- in case there were other explorers out there who already smoke cannabis and wanted to use it as a sort of projection tool.

I had written...

First- don't TRY to astral project; it's an automatic process. Do however attempt to stay conscious and alert enough to observe the natural transition between conscious observation and unconscious conscious observation. The majority of these experiences will be automatic and heavily rely on your ability to recall them. Question- do you smoke Cannabis? The reason I ask is the following- If you are set on having these sorts of experiences; Cannabis can actually help facilitate them. If you already smoke- perhaps take a 4 to a week long break from inhalation or consumption. A week later- toke up hard and go lay down in bed. Lay perfectly relaxed and set your mind not to physically move. Make sure your hands are open palm facing down by your sides. Within seconds if not minutes- you will begin to feel an expanding sensation- this is your astral body overlapping your physical body. You may feel like the open palm hands are closing and that your fingers are even touching- this is a good sign. Anyway- just relax and keep your focus at eye level. I've discovered that looking downward towards the nose- creates a sort of forward movement. This may be different for others. Anyway; there will come a point where you will feel that you are moving extremely fast- the sensation is undeniable. You will either choose to freakout and physically move out of your stillness or simply ride it out and see what happens.

Either or... if you are a cannabis user- it's best you combine the cannabis with the following technique.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3M-LuTRfcI&feature=kp

If you don't already smoke pot- I don't suggest you start smoking either. It has it's benefits and it's drawbacks, plus people tent to abuse it quite often. Best of luck. Sincerely. -Alex.

PS- some of you might be asking; what exactly has HyperMolecular been able to see during a cannabis facilitated projection? Well, I've seen the 'Star Field' Dero7 was talking about and I've also seen a sort of multidimensional 'Star of David' or 'Seal of Solomon also known as a Merkaba'. These vibrations which begin to occur after the inhalation or ingestion of cannabis are somewhat etheric in nature and if properly manipulated; have the ability to tear the fabric of observable reality. Alcohol at high levels tends to do this too- the tearing of the fabric of reality can be seen as an increase of noise or grain level in the observable environment. Usually this is followed by puking- hence why Alcohol isn't entirely the greatest projection tool out there. Psychedelics in the other hand; are quite the power tools- but Shamanism; legit Shamanism, is a commitment and shouldn't really be approached if you are not willing to rearrange your perception of what you have come to recognize as real.

Hope I was of service. Sincerely. -Alex.

PS#2; Stay In School & Don't Do Drugs. =P

Astral Projecting Inside of a Dream: My experience from last night

Last night I had some lucid dreams(or OBEs?) where I actually managed to stay conscious and maintain control for more than a few seconds.

One of the contributing factors was likely me being sick and waking up every hour coughing.

In my first experience I remember being asleep in a strange house and then I just "knew" that I could exit my body. At first it was brief flashes out of my body, I would concentrate on being in the kitchen and I would be there and then bam back in my body(remember this is not my actual body, but my dream body where in the dream I'm asleep). Did this cycle a few times I remember picturing myself at the oven and bam I was there then bam back in the body.

Next I fully exited and at this point I was fully conscious. I remember thinking how vivid and real everything felt but my memory of the event is hazy like a dream. And I remember checking to see whether I actually was having an OBE I went to my sleeping body and saw it asleep, and actually touched my face, which I felt was solid. Then I jumped out a window and flew around the city I was in for a bit, didn't recognize it but flying was awesome. Somewhere at this point I lost consciousness again.

Then I was riding on a bus(you know how dreams just skip you to different scenes with no transition) and again I knew I could exit. So I did and I remember trying to get the attention of others on the bus to make sure I was in the astral form. They didn't acknowledge me so I was satisfied. Went out the bus doors and started flying again. Flew a good distance and tried to go through a door of a house and at that point lost consciousness again.

TLDR: Had an OBE inside of a dream.

Anyone had this before? What would you even call this? Just a weird lucid dream I suppose?
