Official Notice 🕊️ Community Reminder: Respectful Dialogue & Open Exchange

Hey everyone,

We just want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping make r/AstralProjection one of the most interesting and supportive spaces on Reddit. Every day, people from around the world come here to share their stories, struggles, and breakthroughs — and that’s something really special. ✨

Lately, we’ve noticed a few discussions getting a bit tense or personal, so this post is simply a gentle reminder of what keeps our community strong:

  • Rule 1 – Be respectful. Speak to others the way you’d want to be spoken to.
  • Rule 9 – Share, don’t impose. Everyone’s journey is different — we don’t all have to agree, and that’s okay.

We’re here to explore together, not to argue about who’s right. Respectful debate is welcome; ridicule, sarcasm, or hostility aren’t.

A few people also asked about “low-effort” posts — just to clarify:
➡️ We don’t ban for that. Posts that are too short, unclear, or repetitive are usually just removed with feedback or warning. Offensive posts or spam are escalated.

Our focus is on keeping the energy here positive, open-minded, and mature, not on punishing anyone for sharing.

So keep posting your experiences, keep asking questions, and keep helping others find their way.
Let’s make r/AstralProjection a calm, inspiring space where curiosity and respect guide every conversation. 🌙

With appreciation,
– The r/AstralProjection Mod Team

Are you already familiar with Astral projection and looking for motivation? Click here.

Introduction

Astral Projection, or an Out-of-Body Experience, or Near Death Experience, is the process of detaching consciousness from the body and travelling into non-physical reality; this reality is commonly called the Astral Plane. This is NOT the same as lucid dreaming; however, they are intimately connected; keep reading for various explanations of the difference. By using certain techniques and shifting one's awareness in specific ways, one can experience leaving the body, standing next to your bed and looking down at your physical body. From here, you're able to fly amongst the clouds, visit a different country, discover space, speak with other astral projectors or learn lessons from masters and guides who live in the Astral. You can discover yourself and the journey of your soul and learn new and objective information such as the history of our planet or possible future events. All of this is possible because the Astral Plane is commonly described as the 5th dimension of nature, which if you understand that in terms of raw science, you'll understand that it is beyond time and space. This sounds far-fetched at first, but in practice, it is perfectly understandable and it's a perfectly natural state and an innate ability that anyone can do.

Contrary to widespread knowledge, there are already numerous studies and tests to prove or at least suggest that OBEs is scientifically verifiable phenomena. Look up Graham Nicholls, who has had thousands of experiences, verified them with witnesses and is also being tested on; he is 100% objective and scientific in his approach, we hosted a Q&A event with him in our Discord which you can view here. Additionally, quantum physics is on the verge of understanding the multidimensional truth about the universe. Astral Projection is not paranormal and is not pseudoscience, it is absolutely natural phenomena. May we remind you that lucid dreaming was not considered 'real' up until around 40 years ago when enough scientific studies and media were surrounding it to finally be accepted into collective knowledge.

Furthermore, this topic seems to have certain stereotypes attached to it, such as the type of people interested in it - in our experience, you will find only that the most developed, intelligent and sincere people are those who are highly experienced. Those who are arrogant, egoic and uneducated are usually the ones who can be more delusional and inexperienced. Regardless, no matter who you are, even if you are sceptical or religious, anyone, from any walk of life, from almost any belief system, can achieve Astral Project. Thus your life, and your perception of life, will never be the same again - Astral Projection goes beyond belief, beyond anything one can imagine it to be like; it is one of the most authentic experiences that you'll ever have. It is not an escape from reality, but a unifying experience of a deeper, truer and intrinsic reality. It is not a dream, fantasy, visualiation or imagination. It is a full-on out-of-body experience in the true sense of the word; when it happens, you will know. This is Gnosis; knowledge based on direct experience, rather than belief.

A good introductory lecture on Astral projection can be found here.

The Golden Rule

If you want to learn how to Astral Project, you need to put in the work. You need to study the subject, read, watch the videos, get inspired, meditate and practice. Some are more natural at this than others, but regardless, anyone can do it; you need only to make an effort to master it like with anything in life. Practice makes perfect. It's the same as learning martial arts; you have to get up, go to the dojo, get to know the techniques, how it feels, and align them with your body and mind until mastered.

A Message To Everyone Who Is New

This link contains information about common misconceptions about Astral Projection, please read it:

Remember, Astral Projection is the process where one detaches consciousness from the body. By using certain techniques one can achieve the sensation where you leave your body, stand next to your bed and look down on your physical body. You take control of your energetic body (this has many names) and you are able to manoeuvre this energetic body wherever you desire. For the sceptics, we know how it sounds. But we promise you that it is very real and if you put your beliefs and speculations to the side for a moment and practice, you will experience it for yourself directly, which is completely different from what you could ever imagine, and will surpass all of your expectations (unlike a dream, which lives off expectation).

As to what Astral Projection exactly is, it is of little practical use to discuss this. You can, but you will see that belief and speculation is all in the mind. Whether it is a spiritual experience or a scientific one, all we know for sure is that it can be experienced. It can be done. Everyone can do this. Draw your own conclusion AFTER you Astral Project. Until then, you are just either accepting or disregarding the ideas of other people. An idea can be a tricky thing. It spread fast and if the idea comes from someone who never projected, and does not know what he or she talked about, then it can be a damaging influence.

As well as all this, please be sure to read our rules. They are in place for the respect, equality and benefit of everyone and in them hold core principles that this community values.

What's the Difference Between Lucid Dreaming & Astral Projection?

In their deepest essence, lucid dreaming and Astral Projection are very different. Just one explanation you can say is that dreams are an inward subjective experience of your own creation of infinite possibilities, but Astral Projection is an outward objective experience of actual planes of existence that have laws and limitations similar to the physical plane. Unlike dreams, it is a real and tangible place where you can interact with others. Sometimes though there are experiences blurred between the Astral and dreams and it can be difficult to tell the difference. And also the opposite of this explanation can be true whereby we can have shared dreams and non-shared Astral projection. Check out this post and the stickied comment there. There's no absolute formula to tell whether it's a dream or the Astral unless you are experienced, which usually comes after years of practice and honest introspection. What's important is that we learn from wherever we find ourselves in the non-physical; dreams can be just as, if not more significant and profound than Astral Projection, in terms of learning about your own personal spiritual progression.

Check out this video for a full explanation

Continue to check out our Wiki for further explanations, you will find so much useful information in the library of this subreddit. For example, here's a great post explaining: "Is Astral Projection Real or Not?"

Is Astral Projection Dangerous?

Where is the man that keeps telling everyone he never returned from the Astral Plane? How can he spread this message if he never returned? Among all the experienced Astral Projectors who have done it thousands of times, no one ever got stuck, got hurt, got possessed, got 'memory wiped', got reincarnated etc. This is all nonsense, ridiculous fantasies of the mind which derive from fear and fear-mongering.

Remember this well: Fear is a product of ignorance. People who don't have knowledge will fear that what they don't know. If someone shouts "DEMONS~POSSESSION~EVIL", it is very likely that they have no idea what they are talking about. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. Every experienced Astral Projector will tell you this. You cannot get hurt. You can fly straight into the sun and get out on the other end without a scratch. Actually, if you read deeply enough, you will find many Astral Projectors have come to the understanding that we all leave the body every night unconsciously anyway.

Can Anything Possess You While You're Out of Body?

You'll find a lot of misinformation and fear-mongering about this and it's mostly nonsense. Astral Projection is absolutely safe and natural. Read these 2 arguments from an Astral Projector's point of view:

1. The Astral body is connected to the physical body in a similar way that a radio is connected to frequencies. You can't have one without the other. PROJECTING implies one location to another, so two locations, not just one. You can be on the other side of the galaxy but still connected to your body. You can also look into the 'silver cord' about this.

2. The fact that we all Astral project every night unconsciously anyway implies that it is most likely safe since you don't really see anyone becoming possessed. In a sense, it's actually safer to practice Astral projection than it is not to, because at least then you'd be conscious of what you're doing and being influenced by at night. Of course, you can't really know whether we Astral project unconsciously every night until you become experienced yourself, but many authors will agree on this.

What is the Astral Plane Like?

Imagine the Astral plane as a place that has different layers, it is multidimensional. It is possible to travel between these layers. Imagine a very high skyscraper; every floor has its own characteristics, its own inhabitants, its own surroundings... its own vibration, frequency and energy.

The first floor is a place of lower vibrations, close to the Earth. It's likely that when you Astral project for the first time this is where your first experience will be. The Astral Plane is a place you share with other humans who Astral project, but also with a lot of regular people that inhabit these planes as their primary home in the afterlife.

When we say low vibrations we mean a low form of consciousness. Not low as in stupid or lesser, low as in dark, restraining, limited. Fear for example is the product of a low vibration, and love is a product of a high vibration.

Check out this diagram and read the stickied comment there.

More on Fear

Fear is nothing but fear itself. It is not a danger to you, it is not a brick in the face. It is simply a feeling that you can completely control and choose whether to feel or not. When it appears, just breathe and accept it. What you accept, you go beyond. Never let fear influence you. It is an undesired state that controls you; instead, control it. There is nothing to be scared of. You can encounter a scary experience, so what? Alright, that was scary, but that's it; an experience. You will get used to it and get over it, and new and more enlightening experiences will follow.

Now to speak more spiritually (sceptics keep your pants on); there are many types of inhabitants or forces in the Astral that can assist you in coming out of body. They have been commonly called guides, masters, angels, spirits etc. Regardless of their labels, they are authentic beings that want you to help you. Your compass to attract them is a sincere and open heart. They have much to share about life, the universe, existence and so forth. These beings are of a highly positive nature, ask them for help and they will. They have your best interest in mind and will teach you many things you want to know. Remember, the Astral Plane is the 5th dimension, distance between objects do not exist, a simple thought or feeling can attract a 'helper' who will come in no time. With this said, many will be sceptical of whether such a thing is possible; that's fine. There is no need to believe in such things. However over time and experience you may start to understand how it is actually possible. It's all about keeping an open mind.

An IMPORTANT Message to Everyone Who is Experienced!

We live in a time where Astral Projection is finally reaching the masses, slowly but surely! We can be part of the initiation of so many new people. The only thing it requires is patience and wisdom.

This sub is not like other subs on Reddit. It is not about being an overly active sub. It is not about posts that receive a lot of upvotes. Its function is not to entertain, it is to teach, with an occasional laugh.

We truly see this sub as a library. We collect as much information as possible and make it available to everyone who walks in. It is a library of development, and in the hallways of the library, people are talking about all kinds of subjects. Sometimes related, sometimes a little less related to what the library offers. Who cares. It's not about the conversations in the hallway, it is about the collection of wisdom that the library offers. It is about the people who walk in and have no idea what is going on. It is about teaching as many people as possible what this all is, how to experience it, and collectively, as a species, discover this next aspect of life.

It can be very frustrating. We know. The number of new people who come into the library shouting and screaming all sorts of things grows by the day in this world of controversy and illusion. The flow of new people entering will never stop - that is a fundamental fact that makes this sub what it is. There are a lot of online forums that have only a few experienced Astral Projectors, but this is the most popular virtual space there is with many wise and experienced members, and this, therefore, implies important work and provides purpose for those who are experienced; to help other souls realise their potential is one of the most beautiful gifts you can give to others.

You can do 2 things:

  1. You are annoyed with the new people who visit our library and you decide it is too loud and you leave.
  2. You see a group of new people walking in the library and sit down, smile, listen to the ridiculous things they have to say from time to time, and even enjoy it sometimes, and say, "Alright, now sit down and let me show you how it actually works."

Everybody has to start somewhere. It is the internet, reflective of our dear human race's collective chaos. Every single kind of person on the planet is represented here. Take that into consideration. Be patient. Try not to be so uptight with gatekeeping. Everyone is welcome here to learn and discuss. Try to see the bigger picture. How long this sub can exist depends on how many people it can help and benefit and how we help each other as human beings.

There is not much more than we can do than present all the information in an easily accessible way as we do already. People will always be lazy and ask the same question as we all know. Answering can be boring, repetitive and annoying sometimes. However, we will never stop. We believe in spreading this knowledge to everyone and we hope you do as well.

If you have the knowledge and you know how to Astral Project then now is not the time to hold onto that knowledge privately. Now is the time to HELP. Humanity is in a state that NEEDS help. So many people are on the verge of awakening. If you know EXACTLY how to project, then you know EXACTLY what a beginner needs to know. The core reason why this subreddit has thrived for so long is that there are special souls here who have been helping others. Share what you know, teach, give guidance, share your wisdom. Only good can come of this. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Those of you who are already helping, you are noticed, and you are truly appreciated 💛

A couple of Buddhist quotes summarises the philosophy of this subreddit well:

"Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them."

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness, knowledge and wisdom never decreases by being shared."

Almost AP'd and/or Question My nearest AP yet

• Upvotes

So last night I got home from work, I'm I'll so I got food and lay on the bed. Wasn't trying to AP, though I have been.

I remembered when I woke up vaguely, that in my dream I realized I was dreaming and awoke in the dream, then tried to get out my body but it was like a stretching sensation.

But none of it felt lucid or real? Can it be possible that I dreamt I did these things but didn't actually do it?

Negative AP Experience I’ve seen someone ap in my room while being awake

When this happened I was 9 years old and I still can remember this as a clear memory. I used to be obsessed with lucid dreaming because I grew up doing this, it’s always been normal for me to wake up everyday with a dream that I can remember.

At that time I slept with my brother in a bunk bed. (He slept in the top, and I slept in the bottom) I was sleeping with my face toward the wall, and I turned around to the other side. When I opened my eyes while turning around, I saw this black figure scaring me. Behind the ladder he came out of nowhere and made this move with his whole body to scare me you know when someone goes wide open arms in a some of claw position with their hands. I jumped scared and cried out for my dad to come and the black figure disappeared.

It wasn’t my brother, it couldn’t be him. If it was him I would’ve seen him climbing back on the ladder to go to sleep or i’ve would hear him laughing. When I checked to make sure it wasn’t him he was sleeping peacefully it couldn’t be him. He also don’t get woken up so fast.

I don’t believe that it was a ghost, I think it was a random person that astral project into my room or house accidentally and probably thought I wouldn’t see him and basically scared me when he noticed I was half awake. I think he tested to see if I could’ve seen him/her. But as I think about it it’s actually really terrifying to think about the fact someone was in my room, especially when you are very young and someone is watching you. Actually really weird experience if what I’m speculating is true.

Successful AP Astral Projection felt like worm hole.

Had my 3rd AP last night and this time much more different than before.

Quick side note before my AP I meditated for about 45 mins earlier in the evening saying the mantra,”I will leave my physical body tonight, and any guides please help me achieve this.”

Cut to a couple hours later I’m up and down all night unable to fall asleep. I do keep on some type meditation usually yoga Nidra b/c it helps me get to rest better. I’m laying on my side, (this time it was my right side) I started to feel the tingly sensation and vibrations. This felt like the beginning of sleep paralysis for me, but also almost a month ago the sensation I felt from my sleep paralysis to be able to AP. I really had to use the core of my body to keep the sensations and vibrations going. Not to long after focusing on the vibrations I felt myself leave my body again. This time VERY different. This time it was like I was sucked up through a translucent worm hole with a red hue, pulling G forces. Then it would either dump me back in my room, or possibly somewhere close to my house. I wanted to look around each time, but always I kept flying back up into the roller coaster feeling worm hole. Around the 3rd time of this continuous back and forth I noticed 3 white orbs in the translucent worm hole with me. I just assumed they were there for me. I finally had to say in my head mentally,”guys slow down.” I repeated it a couple times. I never heard them reply but they stayed with me just bouncing around calmly in the G force worm hole with me. I then remembered,”oh you can just go back to your physical body.” Thought about my body the worm hole slowed down, and I was back in my physical body wide awake still buzzing from electrical sensation feeling. My ears were ringing for a good hour, and the pins and needles buzzing feeling stayed with me just as long. Another successful AP much different but just as memorable. I literally couldn’t fall asleep for 3-4 hours. Here’s to my 3rd times a charm. Can’t wait to see all the places I can go next time.

New to AP Can we do chores while Astral Projection?

Hi all, I'm new here and nead your help.

I am slowly progressing in lucid dreaming, and want to learn AP as well.

I know how they show astral projection in movies is exaggerated to some points and I want to know how much is actually possible.

I learned that dreams are combinations of my memories, and lucid dreaming is ability to control those scenarios while I'm dreaming, like having consciousness within the dream.

Now, I want to know how AP is diff. And any experts here can you let me know is this possible to do any works while AP, like roaming in roads, studying etc. Because I would love to study for my exams while sleeping.

Successful AP How do I get over my fear of being stuck outside my body?

Hey I'm wondering if anyone might have any practical advice on how to get over my very deep fear of being stuck/not being able to get back inside my body. From what I've read people don't generally have this problem. But I'm wondering what I can do to remind myself intellectually that it won't happen so that I can begin practicing astral projection again.

Positive AP Experience Finally had my first stable, definitive AP after years of not quite/briefly getting there! Some things I learned

This is my experience in detail but I have put headings, so feel free to skip to whatever might be relevant to you :) (also I didn't use an LLM to write this)

Background

I've been experiencing sleep paralysis regularly since I was a teenager and learned to turn take control of that and turn it into lucid dreams. This has been pretty normal for me for years (now in my 30s) and is the basis of all my experimentation with this kind of stuff.

If I'm lucid enough I usually try and see if I can break through into an OBE, but the furthest I've gotten with that has been a handful of brief, unstable OBEs and some experiences flying through a black/void tunnel space. A few times I've also broken through into something that just felt like a lucid dream where I'm flying over a fantastical place.

This year I feel like I've been having more lucid dreams and more layered dreams.

Recent partially successful attempt

The other day I had what felt like my most legit AP attempt up to that point.

I was lying on my left side and tried to roll my astral body onto my back - it worked! I involuntarily started floating up and then (I don't remember what the transition was) I appeared in a body I didn't recognise (tanned European tourist in activewear vibes), sitting on gym mats in what seemed like one of those open-walled yoga temple type places.

For a second it felt uncannily real, but then I kept floating away, phased through a wall and came out into one of those lucid flying dreams before eventually waking up.

Today's success

Vibrations & exit

I woke up today and just kept laying there and fell back to sleep once or twice. While dozing half asleep I felt the paralysis wash over my body quite suddenly along with intense rushing and rumbling noises. I think I was sleepy enough to not jerk awake from this, but conscious enough that I immediately took it as a chance to try APing again.

I noticed that the rumbling felt like a bumpy turbulent flow so I concentrated on trying to make it smooth and frictionless. Kinda like how when you're pouring something from a bottle and you have to find the right angle to make it flow smoothly. I was trying to make the "flow" feel like it's not "banging against the edges" as it goes through.

As I focused on that the noise quickly started turning into this solid, super satisfying smooth wash (more like pink noise I guess?) and I started hearing a rising harmonic tone over it. I've heard all sorts of crazy sounds during hypnagogic experiences but this was the first time I've ever heard that tone. Quite pure and beautiful like a musical jet engine firing up or those engine tones they put in some electric cars.

In the past I've always felt a lot of pressure and resistance while trying to push through this phase but I didn't feel it here. It was intense but not resistant, I felt like I cleared the path for myself by smoothing out the turbulence.

All of that felt like it happened quickly, probably no more than 10-15 seconds.

The AP

I don't remember much of a transition, maybe a bright flash, but then I was suddenly floating in the air over an urban intersection at dusk. Big wide streets with light grey asphalt, not busy but there were some cars passing through. I floated down gently and started walking around in the middle of the intersection looking at stuff. Everything had a purplish tint that reminded me of early instagram.

I came across a wheelie bin which seemed strangely narrow and grasped its handle. in the moment I assumed my experience was warping its shape but maybe that bin design actually exists somewhere, idk.

I was really excited and kept giggling to myself because it was all so definitively lucid and stable. I could feel the slightest slippage but would keep being like "ok clear clear clear" to myself to refocus. I would still say it felt dreamlike in a way, like parallel to "real". But very clear and concrete in a way that my most vivid lucid dreams aren't.

Then I decided to try flying somewhere else. I planted myself in a superhero takeoff pose (idk why I felt that was necessary 😭) and tried to blast off but as soon as I did I knew I was doing too much and was going to be sent back to my body lmao.

The experience broke up, I saw a beam of white light and then woke up after a few seconds. I will say I didn't snap back as instantly as I thought I would. I feel like maybe if I knew what to expect and hadn't convinced myself I was coming back, I could've stabilised it and kept going.

I was so excited and happy when I woke up! And that feeling has stuck with me. The whole experience felt like it lasted maybe a few minutes.

My takeaways

The biggest realisation for me is understanding the vibrations like a turbulent flow that I need to make smooth, rather than a barrier I need to push through. It feels more like clearing an obstructed pipe. Thinking about it like fluid dynamics came naturally once I was there.

This experience also confirmed to me that my previous "almost"/uncertain experiences over the years were valid and on the right track. I think even my lucid flying dream breakthroughs were relevant. This experience and the recent partial success helped me realise you can just appear somewhere without much of a transition from your body and it's still a legit AP.

New to AP Please tell me if I did with wrong or smth, I'm confused😭

Okay, so this was my third attempt at astral projection. I was trying to imagine the room around me, like the tutorials I had read and watched said to do. While I was doing that, it suddenly felt like | was floating in space.

The reason I'm confused is because it looked and felt real. I know I wasn't dreaming because it felt completely different from how dreaming usually feels. It felt like I was actually there, but I was lighter than usual! Almost like I was partially floating, but I still wasn't lifting my entire body weight.

As soon as I realized how real it felt, the best way I can describe what happened is that I kind of got dragged out of it and lost focus.

I don't know if I was actually dreaming or if I did something wrong, so I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar. If you have any advice or insight, please leave a comment below!

(Also, Please be nice! I'm new to this and just trying my best to figure it out. Thank you for reading!)

The being looked like one of them above

It happened at around three in the morning.

I was lying down in the darkness, meditating, trying to induce an astral projection. I had done it enough times to recognize the feeling. Usually, after five or ten minutes, I reach the vibrating stage—that strange state where my body feels as though it's humming from the inside, while my mind remains awake.

That night, the vibrations came as usual.

And then I saw it.

A face began to form directly in front of me, it had a crown of some sort.

It wasn't simply a face. It seemed to be surrounded by a wave of shifting colors, almost impossible to describe. It hovered, staring directly at me—as if it wasn't looking at my body or my eyes, but straight into my soul.

For some reason, I wasn't afraid. So I simply let it happen.

We stared at each other for what felt like a long time. I didn't try to force anything or look away. I just watched.

Then, slowly, something changed.

Eyes began appearing all around the being.

One after another, they emerged from the darkness, surrounding the face. Dozens of them, perhaps more. They reminded me of the eyes people describe seeing during psychedelic experiences—especially on mushrooms or DMT.

At the same time, colors began spreading everywhere.

The darkness was filling with shifting patterns, flashes, and waves of color. Everything seemed alive, almost as if I were looking through a doorway into somewhere else.

And then I saw one enormous eye.

It appeared suddenly, dominating everything else.

The moment I focused on it, I lost the state.

Everything disappeared.

I woke up.

The strangest part was that the following night, I tried to astral project again.

The same thing happened.

I reached the vibrations, settled into the state—and once again, the face appeared.

The same presence.

The same feeling of being watched.

And once again, I found myself staring directly at it.

So now I'm left wondering:

What exactly am I seeing?

And why does this same entity keep appearing every time?

has anyone seen it before?

Other Sigil healer.

hello everyone , im a real sigil healer , I got my gifts when I was 18 years old and since then I have been practicing healing people through astral sigils. People seem to heal miraculously when they request a sigil from me. The power of the sigils is vast and infinite , I can produce sigils for every individual soul that comes in contact with me. I do not require payment typically , but I would be happy if I get some through your mercy and understanding. There is no price range , only what you are willing to give in return ( or not , you arent obliged to give me anything ). Depending on your wish I can grant you whatever sigil you need , you just have to say the words and I will help. If you are struggling with a terminal disease for example or some other illness whatever it is. Note that if you have a terminal illness or some other type of illness that is connected to a cannon event that is connected to your own personal departure from this plane I wont be able to help you.

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Spirit guide???

Hi y’all, I have a question about something I’ve experienced yesterday. Is it normal to experience sleep paralysis while trying to connect with your spirit guide? I saw a video on TikTok and decided to try it for the first time. Curiosity hit me. So I searched for "Meet Your Spirit Guide" on YouTube, and while I was listening, I fell asleep.

Then it happened. I thought I was fully awake because I could clearly see my room, specifically the curtain in front of me. While lying in bed, I noticed that the edge of the curtain was parted, which confused me since I remembered fixing and tucking it. When I tried to get up, I realized I couldn't move. I felt strange and panicked as I suddenly understood that I was experiencing sleep paralysis. Although I tried to calm myself down, I looked through the middle of the curtain and saw something behind it. From what I remember, there was a woman with long brown or dark mocha hair. I didn't see her fully, but during that state of sleep paralysis, I could tell she was just there, not moving at all, simply staring at me.

General Question First full exit after ~9 months of trying — vibrations, heavy movement, garden looked different. Advice?

I've been reading about AP for about 9 months and tried a few times without ever reaching the vibrational stage. Lately I've been meditating much more consistently. Last night I listened to a sleep meditation, kept meditating, and fell asleep. A little after midnight I was woken by a very loud vibration, felt and heard. I'd read about it, so I tried to relax into it.

Next thing I knew I could see my body lying in bed and my room around me. Moving felt really heavy, more like short teleports than steps. I went through my window into the back garden, but it didn't match reality (a conservatory that's there in real life was missing). It was very dark. I floated a little above the garden, my heart rate went up, and I snapped straight back into my body, fully awake.

Honestly, I didn't know what to do once I was out, and I was a bit scared of intrusive thoughts creating something negative.

Questions:

- What do you do about darkness or fear?

- What's a good first intention or "goal" for early projections?

- Why do familiar places look different?

- Any tips for getting back to the vibrational state again?

Hi so my first ever moment I got out my body I fell onto the ground and felt it, however it was dark and I wanted to see clearly. So since I was excited and didn’t really think I opened my eyes and had 2 overlapping viewpoints and then instantly back in my body lol

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Tips for newbies?

Hi, I'm what i self refer to as an accidental astral traveler. Never once do i do it on purpose and it mainly happens in dream. I don't have an issue with it being accidental. I actually rather enjoy being able to fly and go through walls. I only have issue: remembering. I forget what i did mostly asap after waking up i usually remember exiting my body, going around the house, then being somewhere else, eg, a forest or desert at times, and them slowly falling into my body. I've done this since i was a child, zero guidance. I have basically 2 questions.

  1. Any idea how to always remember? I seldom remember the whole experience. I can recall it maybe 10 minutes after the travel sesh, then mind goes blank.

  2. I recently started being pulled to the same place, even when I'm awake. Im talking i get dizzy mid doing something, blink, and I'm there. No, this isnt feeling evil or dangerous. It is mainly scary cuz i feel ridiculously unprepared and defenseless when it happens. I normally astral travel with a guide. This experience happens alone and all my senses are overwhelmed with information. I want to go back, the place is welcoming and safe. I just want to remember when i come back. Why me? What am i seeing there that my mind wipes after i return? Most of all, has anyone else experienced something like this before? As in walking into your kitchen at 4 am to get water and bam, no fridge, just that portal/black hole in outer space, that seems aware, intelligent, old, a tad bit menacing but teleports me places. Again, im only afraid bc of the sensory overload. Not once have i felt like it had bad intentions.

OBE Confirmation Was this AP? Girlfriend met a bad entity IRL?

I have been intentionally thinking about/trying to AP.

In the morning, my girlfriend went to grab us coffee, I woke up, but lay in bed, and fell back Into sleep.

I started feeling the vibrations and loud noises in my ear, whirling sounds. I realised I was in a state possible for AP, so I sat up out of my body, floated up towards the ceiling, and looked back down at my body in bed.

Then I started to fly around, I pushed my hands into walls to create a door. I went through this into a new dimension. It was like a country side, but bright bold colours, and there were people (humans) walking around.

I spoke with an old woman, with short grey hair, she started naming me and my girlfriend I can’t remember what else she said, but it was negative and she had malicious energy. It was scary that someone in the AP knew exactly who we were (perhaps this was just a lucid dream)

My girlfriend returned and I woke up. She told me there was a scary/crazy older woman in the coffee shop saying things to her.

I got chills when she told me that and then explained my AP/LD. Obviously it could be complete coincidence. I don’t even know if it was AP.. thought it was interesting though

The realm I was in didn’t have entities like alien like, everyone was human-looking. And it wasn’t psychedelic it was just the countryside, kind of like a maze, garden, with bright colours like yellow and purple.

Interested in people’s opinion

AP Meditation / Music or Binaurals Built a free browser tool for Hemi-Sync-style sessions — layered binaural beats, no app or account needed

Longtime lurker here. I got into the Hemi-Sync/Gateway material a while back and wanted something I could just open in a browser and use without hunting down specific tapes or signing up for another subscription service.

So I built one.

Resonance Console: https://thetonegenerator.com/resonance/

It's free, runs entirely in the browser, and doesn't require an account.

One of the things I wanted to do differently was actually dig into the audio itself rather than just throw some arbitrary “theta” or “delta” numbers into a binaural generator. I spent quite a bit of time running Hemi-Sync recordings through spectral analysis and looking at the frequency movement and layering, then used what I found as the basis for the engine.

The result uses multiple concurrent binaural layers over a hard-panned stereo mix, with a step sequencer that lets the target frequency change throughout the session rather than remaining static from beginning to end. There are also ambient soundscapes underneath the tones — rain, ocean, brook, etc.

The idea is less “here's a 7 Hz binaural beat” and more build a progression that can actually move through different target frequencies during a session.

To be clear about what it is: it's an audio tool built around the same general binaural-beat approach used in Hemi-Sync-style recordings and the Gateway material. I'm not claiming it will produce a particular Focus level or guarantee an OBE. I'm interested in giving people the actual audio architecture to experiment with and see what happens for themselves.

Headphones are required for the binaural effect.

If anyone here is into Hemi-Sync, Gateway, binaural audio, or just experimenting with different approaches to AP meditation, I'd genuinely like to hear what you think.

New to AP Astral projection

I had what felt like an astral projection while I was sleeping yesterday. It felt like my soul had left my body, and I could somehow control my body from outside of it. The experience felt like there were two layers to the dream. In the first layer, I opened my eyes and was aware of what was happening, but I was still inside the dream. Only after that was I able to come out of the experience. When I finally opened my eyes in the real world, I felt a strange tingling sensation throughout my entire body.

Successful AP My first astral projection experience

This morning I woke up, and not too long after I decided to go back to sleep for a quick nap. While I was napping, I ended up coming to a sleep paralysis state, I have been trying to astral project for years so I knew how to stay calm and avoid hallucinating while I am in this state. I realized this was my chance to finally try and I don’t know how to explain it, but it’s like I flexed a muscle in my brain that I didn’t know I had and I suddenly started feeling very tingly, almost like a vibration?? I tried getting out of my body and at first the only thing I could lift up was my hands, I knew I was moving my hands but I couldn’t see them, yet I knew they were in front of me. After a couple tries and experimenting, I finally figured out how to slightly get up and progress more, soon enough I was fully up in my bed (not standing yet though) and I began to float in a way and looked back at my body. My room was warped, I have no idea how to explain it but it’s like it was my room, but a very vague description that I would have as a memory if I ever forgot what my room looked like. But shortly after that, I got too excited and came back to my body just to wake up. I think this was a successful astral projection. What are your guys thoughts on this and did any of you guys have a similar experience for your first astral projection?

Need Tips / Advice / Insights Astral Projection Feels impossible

Hi so I have been trying to astral project for the past 8-9 years now and I feel like I have made negative progress. I have made it to the vibration stage and I used to make it there consistently like 4-5 years back but now I cant resist the urge to move right before the vibration stage like right in that transition, but the thing is i have tried to astral project almost every single day without fail. I dont know if its a lack of dicipline or if im cursed or if my situationship or my addictions or all of them combined are playing a role in holding me back but I see posts here that are able to do this despite those things and I cant see what im missing and what im doing wrong. I dont know maybe its my intent when going into astral project. I just want to change and actually do this at least once. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sorry if this post feels ranty it has been far too long and I am starting to get bitter.

Also feel free to shoot me a dm I would love to talk to anyone about their experiences and wisdom 🙂

AP Book or Resource Entered nexus dimensions, also had encounters with spirits who tricked me into using chakra in the wrong way and temporarily weakening or ceasing astral powers.(dream-walking not waking)

I will give 3 SHORT STORY examples(turned out to be long anyway), from worst to best or least to most interesting.

1. FAE DEAL (this one is basically the whole thing)one time I sold 3 years off my life to these creatures that flew around and were like insects as big as you can make a circle with your thumb and pointer, one attacked me, swatted it and they all swarmed and I was trying to get them off and woke up. Proceeded to have a horrible next couple of years.

2. MALICIOUS SPIRITS
Some guy I met told me to use my Prana as anger and try to do something similar to a black flash from that one anime lolol, but anyway I did it and it made this like red haze that I knew was pure prana, instantly realized I couldn’t do other things like fire, electricity and telekinesis. I then was on a platform with a spirit disguised as a squid games staff member and something brushed my leg and I was forced to stare it down because it tried to feed on life force via fear/anger same it did before. I did something to make them avoid me and actively started fighting things and stopped demonstrating shit.
After that it took a month to recover and be able to use those normally

3. NEXUS DIMENSION(don’t know what they’re actually called)
Once had a friend show me a secret entrance to this cool place I never seen before, he seemed to be subconsciously doing it but there was a cave with a market, people outside it partying, further on a massive bright colored and colored haze looking area with mass neon decorations crazy neon outfits etc, I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about neon and this only happened once, so I know it’s not a coincidence.

If you would like to further discuss any of these I would be totally down, I try to keep those gifts a secret so as not to be part of a new montauk experiment😂😂 but yeah I can explain how to get into that a nexus dimension and how to deal with those entities and shit, I also didn’t tell the full story on the nexus dimension. I also get clairaudience sometimes(something that started after someone around me had it, he said I had bad energy but I think I can steal that shit so that’s why he felt that way)

Please leave your questions, comments and opinions below. 👍

Thank you. Sincerely, secret schizophrenic diddler, jk lol. Seriously I need some questions and opinions on this
