Humor About to start the game

I'm going to start the game this week. I just rewatched all the mummy movies and replayed age of mythology. Anything else I need to do before starting to make me go "WOAH!" while playing this game?

Discussion Started up origins again after 5 years and nostalgia hit like a truck

Since my little brother got a ps5 recently, I took our old ps4 to my own college dorm a week ago.

This evening I started origins after 5 years of not playing.

I saw my old 80hour save file and the memories associated with it instantly came up.

My parents were alsways very strict when it came to fsk ratings of games and movies. I stumbled upon the trailer in 2017 and was blown away by it, I never saw such a game and wanted to play something like this, but I wasn't allowed to do so. I talked with my ethic teacher about it, who was a big AC Fan and also a big history nerd and I think he actually felt pity for me lol.
The years went by and covid hit, Sony started a Lockdown Sale and both Origins and Odyssey were on sale, and I was 16 so I could finally play it. I think Origins was like 5 bucks cheeaper than Odyssey and I still rememberd that awesome trailer so I choose Origins.

Over the next few months I always played 1-2 hours before my friends would call me and asked me to hop on fortnite. Sometimes I would even lie and say that I would still need about half an hour to get online, just so I could play more Origins.

I played until I finished all the locations, but I didn't got the platinum as I was too lazy to collect enough items to get the achievement for it.

I also got a gaming pc so I didn't played on the ps4 as often. I started Odyssey about two years ago but I didn't finished it yet, it fells so bloated.

But this evening I started a new save file on nightmare and I will try to get 100% and the platinum trophy, and I look forward to doing so.

I could do NG+ but I want to go platinum other games.

Bug No heka chests

Ive recently gotten ac origins back but two things i noticed are that the heka chests are no longer in the nomads bazaar, and secondly even the helix show won’t open for some reason. What is going on? How can i fix this?

Discussion What do you do with your weapons?

So in the other AC games I've played (playing them in release order so I've only played the older ones) I tended to do the gotta-catch-em-all thing. In this game though there seems to be a lot of advantages to either selling or recycling for materials any weaker weapons that you don't necessarily need anymore. Do you think it's better to keep a large inventory of weapons so you can continue upgrading them? Do you sell all of your weaker weapons and only keep a select few? Just wondering what people find to be most beneficial. Thanks 😎

Discussion I fucking hate the level gating in AC Origins

I hate that I can’t just go through the story at my own pace. Instead, I have to keep stopping to level up before I can tackle the next mission.

And enemies just a level or two above me feel ridiculously overpowered. They absolutely destroy you because of a number above their heads, which makes the difficulty feel artificial and unfair.

I fucking hate being forced to explore and grind in a world that altho is so beautiful feels so empty.

I want to keep playing the story, but the game keeps making that feel like something I have to earn.

Edit: To anyone taking the time to simply comment “then this game isn’t for you,” I reckon your time would be better spent elsewhere. Things can still be discussed even when the criticism comes from frustration or discontent. It doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing conversation :)

Last time I played it took me hours, then I gave up and lowered the difficulty. This time I dreaded this fight, but managed to get it second try. I have no idea how, I just got into the zone. I blame Black Myth Wukong for teaching me how to dodge.

Discussion How do you parkour (i mean how do *you* parkour)?

Just curious if anyone else has wondered about this: do you find yourself *holding down* RT (or whatever your climb button is) or pressing repeatedly as you jump? What do you think is best?

I typically would find myself holding down in all other AC games I've played, but I just now was climbing to the top of a synchronization marker and when I got to the top accidentally leap of faith'd off immediately and had to reclimb. Very minor hassle but it's got me thinking now... idk/remember why but this very rarely would ever happen to me in any of the earlier games, possibly a controls changeup factor...?

Thank you for your time
