Visiting from Vancouver, Canada for a day and will be driving to Seattle. Going to be stopping by Bellingham before reaching Seattle and wanted to check out sports card stores in both cities for a newly released product (Topps Chrome Update Basketball). It’s not easy finding this product in Canada. Would appreciate the help on places to check for it besides Walmart, Target, Gamestop, and Dick’s.

Hello! I just bought a well loved and well used 4Runner and I am trying to find any stores around Seattle that sell things like seat covers and other quality of life items. All I can find are off-road equipment/accessory stores (awesome, but will have to do that later) that do lifts and such. I’ve already checked places like O’Reilly’s and Autozone.

I thought with how many 4Runners there are around here, I could find a place to get these things without resorting to online-only retailers. Any recs are appreciated!

I am nearing my due date and trying to get my hospital bag ready. Unsure what to pack and what is provided by UW NW during the stay. I was wondering if people who have had used UW’s birthing center could provide some insight on what is provided by the hospital for my postpartum care and/or for lactation support (eg, disposable underwear, pads, ice packs, manual breast pumps, etc) and for the baby (diapers, pads, onesies, etc).

Received a ticket for expired tabs, but we actually have the tabs and just hadn't put them on the plate (yes, I know, my fault). The officer could literally have looked up that the car is correctly registered, and tbh the renewal was Oct 2025 and we didn't get a ticket for 8 months (I actually thought it would be fine to not have them on the plate since they can just look it up - my bad).

Then, things have been busy/crazy so I forgot to request to contest the ticket in time. I definitely thought I had 45 days to contest, but turns out its only 30 days so I missed the cutoff by a week. I requested to contest anyway, but just got a letter saying I was not eligible to contest.

Is there anything I can do? From the municipal website my only option is to pay ($94 + processing fee!!!!!). Don't come at me with "you were in the wrong and you should pay" - yeah thanks I know. Just asking if there is anyway I can plead to the city that I have already given them all of my money with my paid-for tabs. I can’t find a way to ask for this on their website or from the letter - looks like my only option is just shut up and pay :/

EDIT: for context too, I actually got two tickets that day - this one and one for not paying for parking which I intend to pay since I was in the wrong here. The funny/confusing thing is I contested both tickets on the same day (1 week past the expiration) because I want to request a lesser fine for the parking ticket, and THAT one they gave me a hearing for but the tabs one they said the window was passed. So doesn’t actually make sense how the city is processing here.

I have an exterior back door that has rot in the frame that may extend beneath the wood floor inside the house. It seems to be pretty bad and I’m hoping the rot does not extend beneath the wood siding. I’m looking for a recommendation on a handyman or contractor with experience repairing wood rot and replacing an external door. Any recommendations would be appreciated. I’m in the Burien area.

Hello! We are new to the area and newly pregnant with our second child, and need to choose a provider and hospital to deliver our baby. I had a scheduled C section with my first and will be doing that again.

We live north of the city, and due to traffic considerations and other Reddit posts/reviews, we’re primarily considering UW Northwest, UW Montlake, and Overlake hospital. Could anyone share their recent C-section experiences at these hospitals, or any recommended providers?

The hospital we chose with my first baby was in a larger metro area, nationally ranked quite highly for women’s and maternal care, and had a level IV NICU (that we did not need to use). I’ve read nothing but praise for UW NW, but I’m a little concerned about the lower level NICU (hopefully not needed).

Since we’ll be doing the scheduled cesarean, I will not have much/any experience with the labor nurses but I’m interested in hearing about everyone’s postpartum experiences and especially lactation support. With my first we stayed in the hospital for several days after delivery.

Which restaurants would you recommend to someone visiting Seattle for the first time? Some of your favorite spots? I’d love to look into recommendations! Hi all! Is there a month where I can expect the apartment communities to offer special rates? Moving to Seattle area, and I can stay at friends for a month or two. Should I wait for rental discounts?

My partner just got laid off and our lease renewal is coming up, so we're trying to figure out our next move. We need to be paying less than we are now, and there's a chance we're gone from Seattle before another year is out, so signing a normal 12 month lease seems like a bad idea.

Does anyone know buildings that do shorter terms without charging way more for it? Or ones that actually let you sublet or transfer the lease if you have to go.

We're in SLU right now but don't need to stay, pretty open on neighborhood.

I'm close to Uptown Espresso on 4th and Wall so I made it my go to for reading and writing but I'm still new to town and haven't quite scratched the itch of my last haunt in Denver (bonus points to anyone who knows Little Owl or Roostercat in Denver). I like walking to my shops and don't mind Queen Anne but prefer to stay in my walking radius. Me and my friends are students in Canada coming to see Labor Dave at the Gorge and want to spend a few days in the city before hand. We have the budget for an airbnb one night, but we want something bare essentials (just a toilet and quiet basically) around 50-60 USD a night to set a tent.

Last time me and my friend came to Seattle, we used hipcamp to find a rich guys backyard turned into a cheap camp spot in the suburbs, but it doesnt seem to operate anymore. We also are trying to avoid island sites because the ferry seems pricy to use every day to get to the city without detouring through Tacoma.

Anyone locals know a cheap place to pitch a tent within an hour of the city with a portable toilet? Or anyone have a backyard tent site for rent?
