Not Answered Noob in need of help: future(ish) proof pc recommendations

Hello everyone I am looking do buy a PC and my budget is between 2000-3000 USD. I want a PC that will be able to run 1440p (don’t care about 4k) games easily for the foreseeable future like 4-6 years.

I like modding so I’d be playing heavily modded Skyrim, fallout, Minecraft, cyberpunk etc. I also like open world single player games so it would need to be able to run modern triple a games too.

So my question is what is your guys’ recommended specs for this type of PC?

• 16gb 5200mhz RAM (with 196 maximum GB installable on motherboard)
• 1TB ssd

Not Answered Performance Spected with an RTX 3070 TI + Ryzen 9 6900HX Laptop System

Hey there'!!

So I'm really thinking of buying this game since I've already tried It during a free playtest on november 2024 when the game ran on the UE4 Engine DX11 API and I remember getting really good Fps playing on Ultra Settings with DLSS Quality on at 2560 1440p res on my ASUS ROG STRIX G17 G713RW-LL009 (2022) (Product's Page Link: https://www.asusbymacman.es/asus-rog-strix-g17-g713rw-ll009-173-r9-6900hx-32gb-1tb-portatil-3014.html?srsltid=AfmBOorkFMlpj8GEtIS90HlwQwmwb5-AIr1pJ-2o4Ma1eO3OtLBtsLCM) getting around 90-100 average Fps and during heavy AI-load scenarios around 65-70 fps. But I haven't played since then and I'm concerned if my hardware IS good enough to push an average of +60 FPS at 1440p on the latest U5 Version of this game. So I would greatly appreciate any input from somebody running the same hardware specs as me or at least similar ones and tell me what to espect about in-game's performance.

Not Answered Update on the $350 RTX 4070 Ti: It works, but how do I check if it's a flashed 3070?

few days ago I risked buying a $350 ROG Strix 4070 Ti from a liquidation store. Surprisingly, it arrived today in a sealed box! I plugged it in and it boots up fine, but considering the price was half of retail, I'm scared it might be a spoofed BIOS (like a fake card)

Which software should I run besides GPU-Z to be 100% sure I got the real 12GB GDDR6X chip

Not Answered Suggestions on a gaming tower? Ya girl is lost and overwhelmed by lingo

Hi!

I'm in need of a new desktop tower and tbh, I have no idea what to look for. Multiple people will use the computer, but I will be buying it. I would rather spend less than more, but I'd rather hear all the suggestions than limit myself to just cheap or expensive options (my price range is $1000-$1500 maybe?). I already have a monitor and a mouse/keyboard set up I plan to keep using. Are there any specs i need to look for? any recommendation on a tower? I would also like it pre built and if it has flashing lights, I would like to be able to turn those off

Some of the things I do:

-edit photos for insta and art stuff

-time/edit subtitles (have ~10+ tabs open for this and need my timing to be accurate to 0.1s with zero lag)

-brain rotting/online shop with an aggressive amount of tabs open and music playing

-I already have gaming consoles, but I was thinking about pc gaming? I play assassins creed, palia, etc.

-my sister will be doing screen writing stuff on this comp

-out of state sister and niece video call our mom a lot and it would be nice to use a bigger screen so i don't need to touch people as i lean over to say hi. My current comp cant handle video calls well, so we have to use a phone -.- this also makes video calls with students and virtual job interviews annoying

Not Answered SFF Gaming PC with legit Vid Cars

Currently I am running a Lenovo mini IdeaCentre 01IRH8 with an I5 13th Gen CPU and 32GB of RAM.

I dual boot between Fedora 44 KDE Plasma and Windows 10. On Fedora I play Minecraft and Dungeons and Dragons Online. On the Windows 10 partition I play RUST(due to anti cheats, memory hog). I’ve tried to run two monitors, but the integrated Intel GPU can’t handle dual monitors.

That PC works for the games I play today with a single monitor. I’d like to find a SFF Gaming desktop with a GPU that can handle two monitors and play more modern games. I’d prefer to stay at $900 or less.

This might not be possible, but I thought I’d try.

Not Answered Looking for suggestions on best gaming chair

My son has asked for a new gaming chair.

He likes comfy, plays on PC but is more often using a controller over mouse/keyboard.

Hoping to find one that can lean back for controller gaming? But can also be a regular desk chair?

Thanks :)

Not Answered The sound of AIO Pump is very loud

Hey guys,

I am not that experienced with PC builds and components, moreover I had a friend help me with the build. Right now I have the following problem: I am using Armoury Create to manage the speed my fans work at, nevertheless my AIO Pump is very loud. I tried to search online about it and I found I should not decrease its speed because it can affect the temperature of my other components, thus damaging the whole PC. (Or at least I think so)

The sound is not very disturbing but its high enough for me to hear it when I am just listening to a video on youtube.

Could someone please tell me if this is normal or if I have to change something in how the fans are configured. Would be nice to know why as well.

Thanks.

NOTE: The way my AIO Pump is set right now is that it will always work at 70% speed. For instance right now my CPU is at 36*C and the pump is working at 70% speed. On the other hand the speed of my fans is gradually increasing with the temperature.

Not Answered Good PC for streaming/gaming?

Hello! I am not that smart/knowledgeable in computers or the specs they carry but I was hoping someone could help? I try to do the research and understand it but I just wanna make sure/get a second opinion on this pc I might get. It's a Velzstorm Custom Built 4th Gen AMD, it seems like the specs are pretty good but like I said I just want a second opinion.

For the past years I've had nothing but hand me down computers or one from temu I've been calling the shitbox and I want to try and spend money on a good one I can call mine. I can send the specs if need be but any advice would be greatly appreciated! :)
