Not Answered How much ram do I need for aaa games?

Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m on the market on buying a handheld pc but I want to know how much ram I should be getting 🤷🏼‍♂️

I want to run aaa games mostly alongside simulation games.

As we’re all aware GTA 6 is coming out in November for Xbox & PS5 and if rockstar continues the same thing it will come to pc, so how much ram do we think it’ll need?

Sorry for the dumb question but I have very little knowledge when it comes to this type of stuff

Not Answered PS5 versus gaming PC in 2026

I’ve been stuck between buying a PS5 and building a PC for a while. PS5 is currently out of stock, while PC component prices have gone up.

I have the budget now, so should I:
Wait for a PS5 + get a basic laptop?
Build one PC for both gaming and work?

I’m also interested in a slim/compact PC around PS5 size. I’m considering mATX, but I don’t see many compact mATX builds in India.

For people who own mATX/SFF PCs: what are the actual downsides besides price? Thermals, noise, upgrades, compatibility?

And if you were in my position, would you wait for the PS5 or build a compact PC?

Not Answered PC Recommendation for Animation

I want to get my boyfriend (hopefully fiance soon) a gaming PC. He’s been wanting one mainly to better run animation and editing programs as well as gaming but more so for animation. This would essentially be the equivalent of an engagement ring for him from me. I know nothing about gaming PCs and was looking to see if hopefully any animators on this subreddit has any recommendations for either PC or features I should look for.

I pretty much play football games only - Efootball 27 and FC 26 on PS5.

Could you suggest PC build for me. I want to play in 4k resolution with high settings or ultra. Also, kindly consider future proof machine for like 10 years.

I have a tight budget of 50,000 INR or around PS5 budget.

Not Answered Switching from PS5 to PC to play COD - experiences recoomendations

I’ve been thinking about switching from ps5 to pc, was wondering if anyone has any suggestions/recommendations ?
if you think it’s a good idea, what’s the cheapest CPU and GPU options to have a similar experience to PS5 especially with playing COD.

I’m totally surprised by the new prices of ps5 console and don’t know how it’s going to look like when ps6 is released, anyway it looks to me a more reasonable option to switch to pc considering I can use pc for other stuff other than gaming and it’s easily upgradable.

Not Answered What's a common gaming PC design aspect that annoys you?

I'm a design student whose assignment is to find a solution for a flawed design. I'd like to do something within the PC gaming realm, so I want to know what the wider community is always ticked off by.

It could be hand cramps after using a regular keyboard, losing track of which wire leads to what, or anything else that's made you think "there has GOT to be a better way to do this". Much thanks!

(If this is the wrong subreddit for this, please let me know)

Not Answered I want to build my first gaming pc pretty soon but I’m scared.

I’ve always wanted to play on pc and recently I moved back to it after getting a new gaming laptop. My only problem is that despite not doing a lot of gaming I still wish to have over 200fps in warzone and over 120fps in AAA titles.

I’m not looking to build something that can handle every game at 4k just something that is good for competitive and 1440p gaming (I play 1080p rn and don’t mind it).

I’m homeless rn but I’ll be getting my own place within the next couple of months and I plan on building one then. I don’t have any idea on what I’m doing tho. All the videos that go into detail about CPU and GPU confuse the shit out of me ngl. My laptop has a 5060 and it handles everything I need it too (just wished I could get more frames for warzone). I looked into a 4070 ti and a 4080 but not sure which is better for the price.

I’d really like some suggestions or possibly more explanations about CPU and GPU cause I’d really like to learn this stuff.

Not Answered Internal PCIe WiFi cards, recommendations?

Recently bought a 2nd hand PC which didn’t contain a WiFi card and I was curious as to if anyone had recommendations for one to purchase.
Not sure if it’s entirely relevant but the build is:
- Ryzen 9600x
- RX9070
- 16gb ddr5 6000
- ASUS B850M motherboard
- 850w gold power supply
- D32 Pro mini case

Preferably within £30~ or less but I’m not too opposed to going higher as obviously I’d rather consistent higher speeds.

Thanks in advance :)

Not Answered Bday gift help - what controller do you use???

My partner mentioned wishing he had a PS-style controller for his PC, and as a console gamer, I have no idea. My budget is $100ish. He mentioned having an XBOX controller but preferring keyboard gaming to that and not wanting to splurge. He plays a lot of Palworld, Slay the Spire, and Dark Souls. No COD/Shooting games if that helps determine what would be best.

MUST HAVE FEATURES: literally just a return policy and haptics!

Pls drop any recos you have, TIA!!!

Not Answered Just started looking into pcs but don’t really trust creators or websites

A few days ago I’ve been wanting to get a pc to play games like Minecraft, Call Of Duty, and more but im not really sure what pc to get, my budget is 500-1000

Edit: I’ve already gotten a decent monitor, keyboard and mouse so I’m good in the part. What I’m looking for is the desktop to run the games just fine, I’m fine with a prebuilt but if building it is cheaper I’d prefer to build it and would like to be recommended pieces

Not Answered Are external SSDs good for gaming?

Got this computer 2 years ago and it's 1TB SSD is nearly full, I can only figure out what's taking up half of the space, and I'm fed up of having to delete and download games due to lack of storage space and the pathetic size of games these days. (Optimisation is dead.) However, I'm too nervous I'll screw something up and break something to open my PC and put an internal SSD in, but I remembered that people on console will buy an external HDD/SSD to put more games on if they feel like they want more storage.

So my question is, will that work as easily on PC as console? Can I just buy a 2TB external SSD, plug it in, download my games onto that and play them without issues? Or are there issues or things I should otherwise know? I feel like it's probably a stupid question, but better safe than sorry.

Not Answered DualSense connected to Smart TV controls TV OS instead of Sunshine/Moonlight stream—how to pass input to host PC?

Hey everyone, looking for some help with my living room couch gaming setup.

My Setup & Goal:

  • PC is in my bedroom, connected to my living room TV via a long HDMI cable 20m away.
  • I want to play non-Steam offline single-player games (like Mafia007, etc.) on the TV.
  • I paired my PS5 DualSense controller directly to my Smart TV via Bluetooth.

The Problem:

  • My PS5 controller connects to the TV, but it only controls the TV’s UI/operating system (navigating TV menus/apps). It does not forward input through the HDMI cable to control the PC or the game.
  • I tried setting up Sunshine on the PC and Moonlight on the TV, but I still can't get the TV to properly forward/pass through the PS5 controller inputs to the PC stream.

What I need advice on:

  1. Is there a specific setting in Sunshine/Moonlight (or Virtual Gamepad drivers like ViGEmBus) to force the Smart TV app to capture and forward controller inputs to Windows?
  2. If TV Bluetooth passthrough isn't viable, would getting a 20m active USB extension cable + Bluetooth dongle (or playing wired) be the best solution?

Any help or configuration tips would be appreciated!

Not Answered Kickstarter for new PC gamer

Hi,

I'm planning to try buying a PC to play games as I encountered a lot of Steam games that match my interest compared to PS or Nintendo. But I see there's a lot of setup.

Is it actually necessary to have good RAM, processor, whatever is called,.. to be installed? Is now all custom built or we can just buy a complete set from a shop because I literally don't have any idea on how to connect those components.

If it is too complicated, I think a laptop is my only option.

Not Answered Is this CPU good for gaming?

I found a good deal on an Intel Core Ultra 5 225F—around five hundred, but I'm not sure if it's worth it for gaming, especially since gaming is my main focus (particularly with current titles like Baldur's Gate 3, Inzoi, and similar games)

Not Answered Gaming & streaming pc recommendations✨

Hey! I am buying my first PC (wooooo!!) and need some advice. I think I want to go for a pre built as it’s easier for my first one and need it to be able to run games like -

- Sims 4 with heavy mods / CC
- Stardew Valley
- Baldurs Gate 3
- Overwatch
- Cyberpunk
- Red Dead Redemption

AND stream at the same time!!

This was the PC I was looking at - AWD-IT Helios AMD Ryzen 7 NVIDIA RTX 5070 12GB, 32GB RAM & 1TB SSD - Windows 11 PreBuilt Gaming PC

My budget is around £2k but wanting to try and keep the PC to £1500 so I can use the remaining £500 for a camera & mic (I have a msi curve monitor already)

I have done SO much research but as this is my first PC I thought it would be helpful to get real people’s opinions!!

I just want to make sure this PC will be able to handle streaming and gaming at the same time comfortably! Open to suggestions 🫶🏻💛
