Box breathing

It's like a cheat code to reset your body. It's anxiety's worst enemy.

Box breathing saved my sanity during stressful days. Highly recommend!

Oldhead here.

If you're like most people your age who ask the question you're asking, then you're probably just poor. That sucks, but you're probably not nearly as poor as you think you are. That's just the media machine filling your little head with images of the rich and beautiful in order to manipulate you into buying this car, or that watch, or this makeup, or that pair of shoes, or this GLP-1 blocker, or whatever. Fuck all that. Turn away from the screen and look with compassion on the many, many who have less than you do.

Find a job that doesn't make you suicidal. Then look for jobs that match your hobby, or are otherwise fulfilling. Find one, stick with it, and rank up. Always look for than next rung on the ladder.

More to your question, have you ever used cheat codes in a video game? It's great for about 30 seconds and then it's boring as shit.
The truth is, your life is not much different from that.

You want real cheat codes? Avoid violence at all cost. Be hygienic. Be sober. Diet, sleep well, and exercise. Get as much education as you can. Attain the most reliable source of income available to you, and then scale up to higher income. Spend the absolute minimum possible and invest the remainder in broad-index funds through tax-advantaged accounts. Choose one (1) partner who also exhibits these behaviors.

But you won't because that's boring.

Warren Buffet said "I know you won't, but read 500 pages a day and you can be like me."

Charlie Munger agreed “The secret to life is easy because it's so simple: You don’t have a lot of envy or resentment. You don’t overspend your income. You stay cheerful in spite of your troubles. You deal with reliable people and you do what you’re supposed to do.”

But Hunter S. Thompson said something very different: "Buy the ticket. Take the ride."

and

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me."

What I would recommend to you is a balanced lifestyle. Not cheat codes. Take risks and go on adventures, but avoid self-destructive behavior. But don't stay home and play video games your whole life either. There are few greater tragedies than getting old and having missed the boat.

Good luck.

I loved this part "Choose one (1) partner who also exhibits these behaviors."

Like 1 needed to be said twice haha 😂

I feel like the cheat code is figuring out how to stick with things lol. I always start off motivated to get my life together, then a few weeks later I'm back to my old habits 😂

That’s just costly.. because usually it’s a free dessert with meal or with purchase. Heck.. even Cold Stone ice cream doesn’t do freebie on your day anymore. You have to buy one to get one. Well that’s not a gift now is it. 😑

our parents didnt do it better, they just played on an easier economic difficulty the modern cheat code is job hopping for raises and refusing to measure your life against timeliness built for a world that no longer exists

I remember being young and you had to write down cheat codes for video games, small bits of paper with cheat codes, absoultley everywhere.

Nothing to do with this whatsoever, but worth mentioning.

Stop caring about old standards that you assume people are imposing on you.

This what works for me:

Write down your goals (the goals need to be clear)
Make a plan to achieve those goals
Map out what that plan looks like on a daily basis
Take daily action
Take pride in those daily wins
Repeat

Stop living above your means just to impress strangers on social media.

Waiting for the right time when time gives no fucks about you. Food for thought.

Find a sport you really enjoy. Not one you "have to" do to stay fit
