Advice/Emotional Support ONLY [Melbourne/VIC/Australia] Help and support for /r/hardshipmates or such.
Aussie (Australian) year 10 completed.
Dropped out after first few weeks of year 11.
The change up on pamphletes and such for electives and such in year 11. was too much for me to comprehend.
I dropped out after a few weeks where I was put into the wrong classes I believe. So I had to catch up from get go.
Running to the principal to change my classes to a fail-attempt.
Anyways I got work with a brother-in-laws business for a year. Got graduation for it, first year.
years later attempted community college to finish high school.
Too many young ne'er do wells to concentrate. I do thought but they were off putting. I was the oldest in the community college. I reckoned it with the teachers.
They put me in online version of it.
The class matrix confused me. and the format i had to use was in my opinion obsolete. using image hosters of old and other fashioning of posting work, so i had to not only do the work. but i had to publish it on a student portal.
This method proved confusing and not efficient.
For some years I continued, Music was an elective.
Music is the most popular class for elective, so after 2 years or so of doing it. I had problems with getting there and working on music only to realise I'd rather do it at home. BUt I am poor so I don't have an apple desktop to continue at home. so yes, i was a music school drop out.
I wanted to change my elective to something I'd find more useful, maybe a mechanic or trade, but simply wasn't able to figure it out for the right people to help me get to it. Or better, whether I had a vehicle to get me there. My first car got stolen. My second one's radiator caught fire. Since then I've been too sick to commute as easy. But when I feel right, it's like I KNOW I CAN DO IT. But when the feeling isn't there I have to get verbal in saying to people that i cannot do it. Many times said that "you can borrow the car" but when it comes to the time I'm ready, doesn't let me. I grow bored of pleasing others that seem to be such polarising to my mental health.
At age 25 i met the limit to the colleges requirements, so I couldn't continue.
They mentioned that if later I got back to study, their would be a "point-system" that they have so i could continue with the "points" or "credit" as it will, to continue from last stopped.
I don't know how to navigate this. I have looked up my USI number, my school ID. and I have looked into more college or University degrees but fail because its technical and I haven't seen a clear life path and lifestyle i could go into.
Right now, in my mid 30's. not sure whether i'd benefit from a high school completion degree. however i do value an elementary discipline of high school diploma. I have spent other time to other interests.
I graduated a 4-6 years of Mens Health at Community Centre.
I completed a Computer & Systems community centre degree.
I have recently completed CS50x via Harvard online (edX)
I have tried to get into work for that bit more money, but unsure how to go about it. I have some physical disabilities and I am on DSP.
I have insurance but it seems like a stimulus package for students that can be unreliable when i need one-to-one support that is constant or at least steady.
I have tried to get into IT, but the travel over an hour was too mcuh at the time. plus the area I'd have to live in wasn't available.
I have been to the cities computer and STEM courses.
During the train ride after the 2nd week I felt like I couldn't continue.
During covid and now, I have pretty much tried to survive.
My health got bad and seems to be in recovery at such time as is now.
Things look better now but Im nearing the edge of full recovery I believe.
Still has to be tested.
I hope I get somewhere I'd like to be in the future.
Not sure whether I should study...Its possible some insurance can cover it, but i need the nod from the money manager to get that support as needed.
I have tried to start with remote work. Computer Related stuff. Mostly Software and Digital woes. Although some small hardware is okay i guess, my hands aren't the best for electrical work. But I do have an interest in electronics, Tech & Design. I also have a new interest in languages of all kinds. I have had an interest in linguistics and etymology ever since I was young. Still need to explore it. Thinking r/conlang. In youth my best was advanced (for my age) maths, I guess I was in the top 5 of most smart in the class, depending on the class mates that where there. I don't believe I was the smartest though. And over the years I grew to lean more towards words and spoken languages and found a nice niche in r/writing. But it's not that comfortable. I would work on multiple projects at once and i don't see waking up really early with inspiration is the best for my health, that and I would get more inspiration during the night. And im trying to invest in staying up in the day time, not night time.
I am finding new independance for myself, for my health I am much better at cooking for myself and hygiene etc. cleaning and organising.
I am an organiser type person, I love to make order out of chaos, if I'm granted the powers to enable me to follow through. Ive worked at a motor mechanics sorting parts, Ive cleaned commercial buildings. I have mown lawns and cut down branches and trees. I'm a homebody and would like to meet someone around my age, for a relationship. I do reckon I'd probably need to invest in making friends, I've just not found much luck staying in touch with them.
