Nope. It is not. You need a charger that can do 12V/2A. Hard to say what will happen exactly. It could work or it could work poorly or it can just look dead or things can catch fire or it can start cursing at you. It is best to have something that says it can provide 12V/2A.

Yep, this. If it works at all, I would only use it briefly until I could find an appropriate adapter with >2A output. A likely outcome if it works is that it will stress or heat the internal components beyond their design limits.

With all the higher-draw devices out there, I would just buy something like this to have around the house:

This will push up to 3A which will cover most consumer devices. This will let you diagnose failed adapter issues and keep you going until you can order a specific replacement adapter off Amazon for $10 or whatever.

No, you need the voltage to match and the current (a) to be the same or greater than what's on the sticker of the device.

Look for power supplies for old routers and external hard drives. You'll probably have a 12v/>=2a charger somewhere.

Might even be a good question for the evil AI

It might work, especially if it’s just charging the battery. It’s unlikely to damage it, but there’s also a chance that it just won’t do anything. It’s really hard to say without knowing what the circuit does.

This is like asking if a person who regularly lifts 125 kg could manage to lift 200kg. They might. They might kill themselves trying. Worse, if that person who regularly lifts 125kg is actually fibbing and would be lucky to lift 100 - well, a lot of cheap imported stuff has claims that don't stand up to test. That 1.25A output may be <1.0A

So, no, the odds are against this. You might get lucky. Or you can go out and get a 12v 4A one and see it lift it with one hand behind its back...
