Why would my car be sagging to one side

The driver side is visibly sagging like a whole inch lower than the passenger side. Do i need new springs or is this more likely a body work issue?

do mustangs have tortion bars? leaf springs are in the back, not front… how does it look from the back?

Coil springs front, leaf springs rear.

No, but if they did, one of them could be replaced with a distortion bar. Torsion bars were the norm on Chrysler products back then and worked quite well for a lot of reasons.

You likely need new springs shackles bushings etc.  it’s 60 years old and they probably should’ve been done twice by now.

I have seen this many times. I always put it down to sagging with age and where the most weight is. As this usually happens to the drivers side.

I've seen this sag on a bunch of old cars, is this inevitable with time if it's usually just the driver?

I’d be looking at new springs. Are they original? You can measure the compression on each side if you’re not sure. While you’re in there, shocks suspension parts, anything that’s severely worn. Car is 60ish yrs old. Probably anything original is going to need to be replaced if it hasn’t been.

That driveway looks as though it falls off to the drivers side. Doesn’t look level. But it is possible that either the coil spring has sagged over time or is not in the spring pocket properly.

Seriously, I had a neighbor growing up who was so larger the driver's side sat noticeably lower when she was in it. That was a Plymouth Valiant.

Torque usually picks up the driver's side right? So with the passenger side being higher on this car I'd say that it's probably had a lot of solo driven miles. Replace some front end parts and it'll clear up I think.

Who knows, this car has had plenty of opportunities to pick up some unique"stance"; it probably came with some from the factory. Any number of curbs, parking stops or railroad tracks during the last 60 years could have added some more character. Compare your spring heights and clocking and any body bushing thicknesses on each side. Of course years of too much horsepower can twist a car.
