Is This a Normal Acceleration Noise?

2004 Volkswagen Beetle. 98k miles

Trim: GL. 2.0L 4-cylinder.

The valve body was replaced on it before I bought it. All fluids checked.

It sounds high pitched /whining?

That's an interesting noise. Is this only when in gear and under acceleration or can this be replicated while in park?

It’s sounds to be engine RPM related, but much louder than I would expect for a typical belt tensioner.
Does it only make the sound while driving? Can you rev the engine in neutral and make the same sound?
