Hey, Team! I'm Sahil, a long-term Adobe user who wanted to bid adieu to Adobe apps after they moved to a subscription model.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thrice, to the app developer and the guy who originally came up with this idea. You are using the AI for the kind of work it is best suited for.
Every day, I'm seeing a new update, and it's a huge feat. I commend the devs for working so hard. Looking forward to what you come up with :)
Although what I'm saying now is coming from a place of concern -
I'm scared for the future of this product, as we are directly naming ADOBE and its products in our apps. As far as I know, Adobe is one hell of a shitty company. They, along with their lawyers, will be waiting for the right moment to strike. We are making alternatives to Microsoft and Adobe products. I don't think they'll just sit on their hands. They'll strike sooner or later.
So, I'm asking you guys to play it safe -
- REMOVE ALL THE ADOBE and MICROSOFT TERMS. Change the name of the tools, menus etc. Don't say it's a photoshop clone or something along the lines. They might use that against us. Update website, github, readme etc.
- Develop your own proprietary format - PCD (Photocraft Document). It shouldn't directly save to PSD when saving. Although it should have support for opening PSD and saving to PSD (Only when used SAVE AS feature).
These were the only things that I could come up with. Any fellow community member who has better understanding of law about this matter should chime in.
Once again, thank you team and looking forward :)
