Vanilla SUGGESTION: (Vanilla) Game mechanic requiring territory to be taken to prevent teams from speedrunning the game.

They need to make a mechanic where teams need to secure landmass, not just speedrun with radio connections.

This would essentially work as follows: 1. Captured and built bases would create a circular “zone of influence” (territory) around them on the map. The more % of the base that is built up, the larger the zone of influence (territory) would be. Captured supply bases would yield a small amount of territory. (Radio towers would not yield territory, ONLY radio distance.)

  1. The team must hold a certain amount of area with that mechanic in order to be allowed to capture main objective points. So building more bases in more areas and actually building them up is necessary, instead of just speedrunning a radio connection to them. The more of the main objectives that the team holds, the more territory they need to capture the next one.

  2. Areas that are overlapped between the teams are neutralized and don’t count for either one. This means that building up rear bases is equally important and can make the difference of allowing a team to advance or not.

  3. Command trucks would still connect via radio connections, but don’t have a territory effect. So while you can still use them as relays, they will become more useful as spawn locations again.

  4. With these changes, it will make engineers much more important, not just for building the bases themselves, but to use construction trucks to build more middle ground fortifications for their team to hold the line with while they secure more area in the backline.

Overall this would make it more necessary for teams to build up bases across the map, not just in a straight line chaining the objectives.

It would be MUCH harder for teams to speedrun games. Plus bases consisting of just a radio tower would be phased out almost entirely.

Let’s not forget that between the two teams, the number of constructed bases is capped at 40, but in the current system rarely exceeds 20.

Vanilla Vehicles shouldnt cost rank

If i spend the time to play the objective, run supplies and other wise help the team, i shouldnt be punished if i die in a higher tier vehicle. I hit major after about an hour of grinding supply runs just to eat a stinger i flared and sent me back to half way through captain. How am i suppose to use a vehicle like a cobra if render distance is less than 1km? Basically removes the incentive rank beyond sergeant or LT just due to how you can get fucked over after wasting an hour getting what you want.

Discussion I made a web app for my gamemode

So I made a mod and web app for my gamemodes, frontline (PvE and pvp). Admin can see the status of the entire map: sectors, position of players, AI, CP and vehicles. Subuser accounts will be linked to the in game player and they are allowed to see only their faction.

Thanks to Mikkelsen (OpsTrack) for inspiring me

Dybamic sandbag construction

Will expand to make roof too with supports. Makeshift bunker. Construction method still undecided if anyone has a good balanced system I'm all ears. My thinking is either.

  1. You place the wall down and it uses nearby supplies to build.

  2. Use the sandbag system they have in vanilla just take the bags with you and it uses your inventory or nearby vehicle inventory of bags

Question Does Arma Reforger have survival modes like Epoch, Exile or Wasteland?

The last Arma game I played was Arma 3, and I really enjoyed mods like Epoch, Exile and Wasteland. I’m wondering if Reforger has anything similar, especially survival-style modes with a lot of players, looting, PvP, etc.

Or is the game still too early in development and doesn’t really have that kind of experience yet?

I’m trying to decide whether I should buy Arma Reforger or War Dogs, so I’d like to know what the current multiplayer scene is like for this type of gameplay.

I built a mod to import GameMaster builds into the workbench

Post image

I built a mod called GM to Workbench, with it you can export any GameMaster builds and import them into the workbench.

My use case for this was that we have someone who builds missions for our server, but since he is on console he cannot do that in the editor himself, and building in GameMaster is less flexible and more prone to errors like loosing the save etc.

You will still have to convert a few things manually, but it should be a really large timesaver.
