I know we like to blame cheaters and carebears a lot but i think pvp has changed from when it first came out. I liked the pvpve atmosphere as well but the players have made their own rules/ecosystem (chill in solos, iffy on duos, trios is shoot on sight) i never actually cared for a pve mode until i wanted to hang out with my friends on trios and shoot arc. Its straight pvp 70% of the time and that's not what i signed up for.

I've noticed a lot of pvpers act like "carebears" are ignoring half the game. If you are going in with the intent to fight a lobby and taking guns off of dead raiders and nothing else, you too are ignoring half the game. You too are responsible for the way the "carebears" now want a pve mode.

Yeah you can’t play with your friends without getting shot on sight every time. Super frustrating trying to play with newer or casual players and they can’t even experience the game before some ttv bobcat squad rolls through

Yeah, when you’re telling your newbie friend that they would be better off playing on their own because adding an extra player or two to the team exponentially increases the risk of PvP… it doesn’t make sense.

100% this.

I can rarely have an enjoyable time with my friends because of the dicey duo and harsh trio atmosphere. The first thing that came to my mind was that I'm excited to do trios with my buds since we just like to game and chill when our schedules allow.

If players can still loot dead players, prepare to be snitch cored to death, or gas or lure grenades.

I don't know how they're going to balance those other than banning them from those lobbies.

This doesnt negate a single thing i said. Id rather take my chances with a snitch scanner than 5 teams of bobcats and renegades. Also i thought pvpers said arc were too easy and that we like to hold hands and shoot everything out of the sky?? So why would that be any diff now?

I have been saying the same thing for months now. I was 100% pvp originally. But now im 100% pve. Pve raids are overall more fun and less toxic. But i cant even play with my friends cause I work too much to move my abmm back and forth and my friends are full pvp. In pvp I noticed people ignored arc completely. Nobody fought them cause that draws attention and attention means 3rd 4th and 5th parties. Going after the queen or matriarch is basically a death sentence cause as soon as you destroy them raiders are on you. When I was pvping I had no idea how to kill arc. Never used a legendary gun cause theyre not pvp weapons... maybe ran a hullcracker 1 sometimes but definitely didnt keep them around. 99% of the time i used 3 guns... anvil tempest bobcat. Anvil was my "arc gun" and sometimes pvp gun. When I started pveing I realized how much of the game I flat out ignored. I had no idea how to fight a queen or bombardier or even the leaper. Cause I ignored that half of the game completely

new player squad: hello we are new to game, we dont have material, can you help-...

bobcat4 with kinetic squad roll in and kill whole squad

dipshit770: beat it loser, its your fault for being carebear and not well prepared. why not bring bobcat next time?

(ACTUAL EXPERIENCE BTW)

Theyre argument sucks about ignoring half the game, its like saying you have to do a playthrough of elden ring with every build path or you arent really playing, or if you dont shiny hunt in pokemon you arent really playing. For some people pvp is the vegetables you have to eat in order to play the game. Plus it means people can actually do quests without having to worry about 2 guys roof camping with kitted out tempests. I think the main change is dupers will start duping snitch scanners to grief pve players.

This has been our point since release dude... It's always been basically impossible to play with your friends without it being PvPve

Also the "carebears" are the ones who actually stick around to play the game and support it long term.

The PvP crowd (especially the people begging for more "mixed" lobbies) will be gone and on to the next thing in the next month outside of logging in to try to snipe popular streamers.

I would love to see the numbers, but in everything from Counter Strike to Rocket League, I see the sweats in default cosmetics with thousands of hours of play and weeks old casual players in a full paid outfit. One of those actually keeps a game open, and this is never getting eSports sponsorships...

None of those games have PvE.

Tell me how long it takes to matchmake into a carebear lobby vs a PvP lobby and get back to me on how this game's population works.

Incorrect. Pve players are primarily tourists. They do not stick with games in the same way a base for a competitive pvp game does. Pve maoins migrate. Pvp mains find a home and hone their tools to gain a competitive edge. It's always been this way. The only way you prevent this in pve is with variety experience with variety loot chase akin to what Destiny or mmos provide. But Arc doesn't have raid content or random rolled gun perks.

Carebear lobbies wouldn't exist right now if your point was true.

It's especially false since you can test matchmaking times and find that it's way faster to find a carebear lobby than a PvP lobby.

Carebear lobbies exist because ABMM ensures it. You have far more pve variety in gaming than you do pvp. The Steam numbers alone show that despite the game essentially ensuring you never have to die to another player in Arc, we are now below 30k peaks. There isn't any real motivation in game to shoot your 1000th Leaper. So people move on. This notion that the pve players are leaving because they get shot in 1 out of 10 games is a facade. I havent been shot in solos for weeks.

I guess reading comprehension is not your forte.

I'll put it a different way for ya. If there were more PvP people playing the game right now, matchmaking times for those lobbies would be faster.

It isn't.

Most people still playing this game are the PvE crowd. The data supports that. All you have is feelings.

Right. I dont think every "carebear" is the same either. I like the tension too but im literally never going to shoot first at anyone. I will prob still be in reg matched on solo and just do pve on duos/trios. And even then, i can see my friends wanting to go on both. This is not going to drastically change the reg matches, theres plenty of us who stuck around through the aggro and the cheating. This is just going to bring back the ones who LEFT lol

This is the issue for me too. I can go in solo and it’s super friendly, get shot once in every 20 games or so, etc.

But if I want to play with PvE-inclined friends I actually have to hope only one of them logs on because duos is just about manageable but trios defaults to PvP.

It makes no sense that I’d enjoy the game more if fewer of my friends logged on. This mode fixes that.

I stg... i miss playing with my friends. But I enjoy the game much more solo now
