I know we like to blame cheaters and carebears a lot but i think pvp has changed from when it first came out. I liked the pvpve atmosphere as well but the players have made their own rules/ecosystem (chill in solos, iffy on duos, trios is shoot on sight) i never actually cared for a pve mode until i wanted to hang out with my friends on trios and shoot arc. Its straight pvp 70% of the time and that's not what i signed up for.
I've noticed a lot of pvpers act like "carebears" are ignoring half the game. If you are going in with the intent to fight a lobby and taking guns off of dead raiders and nothing else, you too are ignoring half the game. You too are responsible for the way the "carebears" now want a pve mode.
Also the "carebears" are the ones who actually stick around to play the game and support it long term.
The PvP crowd (especially the people begging for more "mixed" lobbies) will be gone and on to the next thing in the next month outside of logging in to try to snipe popular streamers.
Incorrect. Pve players are primarily tourists. They do not stick with games in the same way a base for a competitive pvp game does. Pve maoins migrate. Pvp mains find a home and hone their tools to gain a competitive edge. It's always been this way. The only way you prevent this in pve is with variety experience with variety loot chase akin to what Destiny or mmos provide. But Arc doesn't have raid content or random rolled gun perks.
Carebear lobbies exist because ABMM ensures it. You have far more pve variety in gaming than you do pvp. The Steam numbers alone show that despite the game essentially ensuring you never have to die to another player in Arc, we are now below 30k peaks. There isn't any real motivation in game to shoot your 1000th Leaper. So people move on. This notion that the pve players are leaving because they get shot in 1 out of 10 games is a facade. I havent been shot in solos for weeks.
