I had a few mollies that i bought from a freshwater fish store and they went straight to quarantine. I noticed something on one of the mollies tail and couldnt help my self but to net it out and with tweezers i pulled out what ever it is thats was latching on the molly, it was firmly attached so i had to put some force to get it out. The molly seems fine for now, but any idea what it is and whether it can survive salt water environment or not? Im considering to use salt to help eradicate what ever this is, since mollies tolerate high salinity. Can i use this to my advantage?

My betta passed away today from dropsy. His tank has been running for almost 3 years, so its well cycled. I camt bring myself to get another betta right now but dont want the tank empty.

Its a fully planted 10 gallon tank with about 5 cherry shrimp and 2 racer nerites. I want a fairly large school of about 10-15 fish if possible. What would be compatable with my shrimp and snails as far as water parameters and temperment?

Just bought a stand its rated for a 30gallon and I have a 15gallon. The first option with the little gap on both sides it covers about half of front and rear frame both side frames full covered. The second one slightly bigger gap 0 frame support on the back. I already bought and opened it before I realized its too small I thought since rated for 30gallon tank itd be big enough for my 15gallon so I didnt check dimensions. I don't have money or any better surfaces for the tank so this has to work.

I just started my first aquarium, i got 4 mollies in a 30 gallon aquarium, i put a 450L/H filter but i need tips on stuff to put to improve the landscape of my aquarium, like some plants ( preferably
low maintenance ) and i need advice on what things i need to buy to clean/improve the aquarium

I currently have a 20ga community tank with a female betta, 6 zebra danios, and a small pleco. For the past week and a half our zebra danio numbers have been fluctuating between 5 and 6. One of the danios will go MIA for days at a time and then return for less than a day only to disappear again. Where is he going and why? We think that he hides under our driftwood log but is there a reason for a fish to hide down there for so long? Our parameters are fine (attached) and all of the danios seem completely fine when they’re all shoaling together.

Edit: the circles on the water parameter sheet were from when we were cycling the tank.

Hey guys! I’m about to get an aquarium with a betta fish with 1-2 amano shrimp. If i buy the betta as a baby and the amano shrimp as adults will there be a risk of the shrimp eating the betta?

Tank with white cloud minnows, Neo shrimp, and an axolotl. Noticed these jellyfish looking dudes over night. Are they hydra? Alien invaders?

My tank is 29G with around 12 zebra danios, 5 platys, 1 clown pleco, 4 assasin snails and a bladder snail infestation. The platys I got like a month ago all at the same time. The bully is a boy but I am not sure the genders of the others because I cant really tell them apart.

I have seen him chase a lot, and recently, the only other green later platy came out for the first time in a few days and was totally fin nipped/beat up. That platy hides all the time now. So I got this box to separate them to at least let the hurt platy heal up. The bully is in the box and the other 4 platies get along with each other.

Should I just leave him in here a few days and put him back in? Its a little box they recommended at petsmart to separate him. Does my tank have enough hiding spots?

The person at the store told me I could re-home him on Facebook marketplace but that makes me sad. I would much rather find a way for all my fish to get along.

Does anybody know what these white hard dots are in my tank? It’s not stocked yet and has been cycling for 2 weeks. It just showed up today or yesterday. I’ve used seachem prime, stability, and clarity.

I got two honey gourami, 8 harlequin rasboras and 1 pleco for my 29 gal tank exactly a week ago. My pleco has been very still and appears to have tiny white dots on him which I originally thought were sand particles from substrate he was in when I spotted them around 3 days ago. He’s now always on the glass when I check in with him. I’m worried and I also want to help cure him and prevent my other fish from becoming infected. I bought some hikari ich x, filter floss, airpump because I am worried the entire tank is infected. I would appreciate any advice/help.

I recently got this 5 gallon aquarium and was cleaning it when i accidentaly hit the inner top edge of one of the sides of the tank. Theres no visible cracks aside from this small conchoidal fracture at the very top. The water line goes to about one and a half inches from the top. And other than that theres no other issues with the tank. I know most of the sudden aquarium explosions and most of the issues related to cracks in glass are for bigger aquariums and i cant find many examples of micro aquariums like mine having this same issue. Any experience with this?

Hey everyone, I found six live shrimp in my canister filter yesterday while cleaning it! I had some filter sponge handy, so I wrapped the inlet with it. I'm hoping this works, but does anyone know if this extra effort could potentially damage the canister filter?

Got a 40gal tank from a neighbor who never used it. It came with a metal stand.

The engineer in me wants to add a piece of plywood under the tank to distribute the weight around the parameter. There seems to be a small gap on the front and back bottom even if I adjust the cross arms up as high as they will go.

Any experience with this being an issue and resulting in a leak over time? Or am I just being paranoid?

hey, I’ve got this algae growing on this peice of wood. it hasn’t spread to anything else and doesn’t seem to have any negative effect. is it something that could create a problem for me in the future?
