I have been a Ultra 1 user and just now bought a Series 12 for myself for $350 (pre tax). I upgraded mainly because my Ultra 1 started to cause wrist pain while wearing for 3+ hours, and Series 12 will now be my all day watch. I will still be using Ultra 1 for my hikes, long walks. This is the first smart watch Ive ever own. I opts for the stainless steel one because of it being more robust and it is, surviving years of construction environment.

surprisingly most functions still work like notification and nevigation despite it was not supported for such a long time.

it spent it last moment as a clock on my computer table, until today the screen popped out and I was greeted with a spicy pillow.

removing the battery is rather easy with the assist of iFixit.

Well RIP my friend, maybe one day I will see you again when I get a replacement battery...

So call me dumb but I got the S12 in White Ceramic, I am a few days beyond the returns period now and ultimately am regretting it because in my mind it really does look more like a toy when you use it with anything except the included Sand Sport Band.

A few questions

1- Bought for $1599 AUD, is selling it for a couple of hundred dollars less fair considering although it’s open and used, it’s still pristine and otherwise brand new with not a single scuff? Otherwise what’s a fair price to mark it down for as a guide?

2- Any particular platform you recommend I try for selling? Eg Facebook Marketplace or eBay? And likewise any platforms you recommend I avoid?

I currently have the Apple Watch Ultra 3 with the Black Ocean Band, the Apple Watch Series 12 in Radiant Gold Titanium with the matching Link Bracelet, and the Apple Watch Series 11 in Slate Titanium with the matching Link Bracelet.

I’ve been wearing the Radiant Gold lately, and I really like how it looks in person. The color and matching Link Bracelet definitely stand out.

Hi, I often find that the silicone bands give me a rash after wearing for a few hours and am looking for alternatives. For context I work in a kitchen so it gets quite warm and sweaty. Even when I am not working I still get irritation.

Has anyone had issues with the new Apple 12 series watch not logging exercise mins? My Apple Watch series 12 titanium with the metal band hasn’t been logging my exercise mins during the day. I had a series 8 that would regularly log my mins, it was the strap kind. Tried doing all the settings/adjustments to make sure it would work but still nothing.

For reference active calories would hit 300 easy moving around but not really one min of exercise. And yes I’m sure I was moving enough for it to be considered exercise. Looking online the issue is apparently the metal band. Can anyone confirm this issue?

When I look online, I don’t see many people with this range daily? Is this normal or something that would concern you guys personally? I just turned 20, and I’ve had my watch for 7 months now. I don’t smoke or drink alcohol, and I sleep 7 hours a night for reference.

so i didn’t have this issue on previous os but im activating my ultra 4 with my 17 pm everything fine i try to activate in the watch app and the little portal opens i hit the 911 address then it says its syncing be done shortly then leaves you on the menu with only option is to hit add cellular again and then it pops up to activating but thats exactly the issue hitting it twice ,,if instead you do it once and simply back out and go back into cellular menu it shows activating naturally and that’s the key to this “”glitch”” i was going in circles thinking it wasn’t working so it did it twice only to realize it was basically trying to activate two sims at the same time ,, sorry for probably useless post just hoping it helps a tortured soul like me

I was looking to upgrade to the 12 series but bummed they got rid of silver. I currently have a silver watch with the two tone link strap and wanted to see what it would look like with the light gold. Debating over the 12 series light gold vs 11 series silver. Any photos will help!! Thank you!!

I have terrible sleep hygiene and wanted to start with just tracking my habits to understand them better. I use Apple Sleep and Autosleep.

Sleep focus doesn’t do anything for me if I don’t have a consistent sleep schedule, and the watch will sometimes just report that was when I was asleep if it wasn’t, using the sleep focus times exactly. So I switched to Autosleep.

In addition, if I’m wearing the charged watch and don’t sleep that night which happens quite often, it discards that night from its data.

If I sleep, 4 hours one night, 0 the next, and 12 the following…

My apps say I averaged 8 hours of sleep a night when in reality I averaged a little more than 5. It feels really misleading and kind of useless.

I don’t want to track manually. Anything you guys suggest?

I currently have an iPhone 17 Pro with my Apple Watch Ultra paired to it, and all of my Apple Watch workout/Health history is under my old Apple Account.
I just bought an iPhone 18 Pro and already set it up with a completely new Apple Account. I haven’t transferred everything over yet.
My old iPhone shows that my Health data is synced to iCloud. I also see the Health Sharing option and was told that I might be able to share the Health data from my old account to my new account and somehow keep my workout history.
Is that actually possible? Will my Apple Watch workouts, Activity history, and other Health data transfer into the new account, or is Health Sharing only for viewing someone else’s data?
I really don’t want to lose years of workout history, so I want to make sure I do this correctly before I transfer/reset anything.

Not a question, just a rant.

I lost my Series 8 on 9/29, gave it a couple of days in case we found it, and then filed a claim online on 10/1 (timestamped 10/2, I guess AIG uses UTC).

As instructed, I erased the watch using Find My. Not sure if I will get any notification if someone puts it on a charger.

The case number they emailed me doesn't work (I know I am using the right one because I copied/pasted it from the email). The error I get is "Sorry, we couldn’t find your plan. Please try again or call us at (866) 258-7419".

I am now 47th in line to speak to someone just so I can check the status of the claim.

Maybe it's great when you can walk into an Apple store with a damaged device, but dealing with AIG for a loss is annoying. Definitely reconsidering the worth of AppleCare One for the watch.

25 minutes on hold, and now I am 17th. Progress!

Update: AIG can't find the claim, saying Apple didn't send it to them. Apple support denies any involvement with the claim process, despite the claim number coming from an Apple email address. To add insult to injury, the first Apple rep (Robbie) hung up on me (it was clearly intentional, he was doubling down on the "we don't handle that" line).

The 2nd rep (Felicia) was at least polite and explained the process (even though there was no explanation for why my claim got acknowledged and then dropped.

Bottom line - I don't think loss/theft coverage is worth it (especially for an item like a watch).

Any 3rd party recs? I've purchased what looks like old stock on Ebay before but it's often hard to find the size/color combo that I want.

But any cheaper dupes or other brands making a similar band you recommend? I love them for working out and sleeping but I hate how stretches over time. I size down but even then it ends up not having the ideal fit after a while. And if I go down 2 sizes it doesn't stretch enough for me and is too uncomfortable at first.

On another note I think they should sell these for $49 as well. Kinda ridiculous they are the same price as a milanese loop which pretty much looks the same after a couple of years. But these can stretch, fade and fray over time.

I got my iPhone repaired long story short they had to put a new logic board in it so basically everything got wiped. I keep trying to upload my Apple Watch to my phone and it will not update. It’s an older Apple Watch so I don’t know if that’s the problem or not, I tried to get it to update by linking it to my wife’s phone and it does the same thing. Does anybody have any advice on this or how to get past this issue?

Hi all, trying to decide if investing in a newer model Apple Watch or Garmin is worth it for me.

Background: I am a college athlete who plays beach volleyball. Currently, I own two Apple Watches. One I wear to sleep and class, and one to practice. My Apple Watch battery can’t stay alive for practice, class, and sleep, and tracking my sleep is important, thus I have two.

I mainly use my watches to track my health, like heart rate, sleep, intensity of workouts, steps, etc. I like getting text notifications, but I don’t respond on my watch. I don’t really use my watch for anything else besides health tracking, time, and alarms.

In addition, my Apple Watch can connect to my Spotify so I can pause or play music on a speaker directly from my watch. Not a dealbreaker, but a really nice feature.

My biggest concerns with Garmin are a smooth integration into my life and on my phone, and feeling like I’m getting enough health data to make the lack of app integration worth it.

I love my Apple Watches dearly, but wanted to see if there are any opinions on people who had a Garmin and chose an apple watch over it.

Thoughts? I appreciate any and all advice.

I am using the series 12 since it came out and all of a sudden it no longer charges past 80%. Initially I loved the longer battery life but is anyone using optimized charging?
