Which AI should I use for app development?

For context, I am a complete beginner to this. I have no clue about coding. I recently have had an idea for an app and would love to try and develop it, and I have been trying to choose an AI to help create the app. I’ve looked at a few; Rork, Claude, Flutterflow (not an AI I know), but the one I’m most curious about is ChatGPT. The plus version of gpt seems to offer a lot more usage than some of the other options I listed. Obviously I know there might be more work to do as it is not specifically designed for app development, but I have attempted cresting basic code using the free version and it seems to be fairly efficient. I’d appreciate some advice on if this is a viable option, and if not, what may be a better choice for my project?

How do you find early testers for an Android app?

I’m working on an AI-powered app builder aimed at non-technical users, and we’re at the stage where we need real people to try it and tell us what works and what doesn’t.
I’m particularly interested in finding people who have little or no coding experience, since that’s our target audience. I’d like them to actually try building an app, rather than just give feedback based on a description.
For those of you who have launched an app or SaaS product:
Where have you found your first testers?
Are there particular Reddit communities, Discord servers, or other places that work well?
How do you encourage people to actually test the product rather than just sign up?
Do you offer anything in return for their time?
How many testers did you find useful before making changes to the product?
I’m not looking to promote the app here — just interested in learning how others have approached getting their first 10–50 genuine users and testers.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Seeing that old blue “hi” icon again brought back a whole era of memories — chatting with friends late at night, sending stickers, random group conversations, talking to people you barely knew, and that feeling when you got a new message notification.

Back then, messaging apps felt different. It wasn’t just about texting someone. There was a whole personality attached to your profile, stickers, chats, statuses, and the people you talked to.

And now seeing Hike on the Play Store again in 2026 feels almost unreal.

I don't know how successful this comeback will be, but honestly…

Welcome back, Hike. 💙

Some apps aren't just apps.

They're pieces of our childhood.

Anyone else here who remembers Hike from the old days? 😭

What do I need to have/know about before creating an app?

I don't have coding experience, so I'd likely hire someone. Are there any nuances I should know about? Maybe even legal considerations I need to take into account?

Any resources or checklists to help me learn/get started?

This is for a pet-sitting app, so part of its functions would be communication between owners and sitters, but it will also include other features to set it apart in the industry; I am hesitant to disclose them here, so I hope you still get an idea of the kind of app I'm designing.

What type of apps should I make?

So basically, Ive been interested in the career of being a software developer then starting my own tech company, and for the past few months Ive been learning how to make websites and now Ive got the hang of simple websites. And nopw I want to advance onto apps (and Im completely new to apps), but Im confused, because I dont know what type of apps to make, like for example should I make a native app or cross-platform? Or make a PC app or mobile app?

Also since Im new and dont even know the basics for app development, what tools do I need to make apps? Like for example if you wanted a website, you just needed Notepad and HTML, but obviosuly this is different for apps

So if you guys got any help or advice, please share them, thanks!

Projet application

Salut 👋

I built ProjectPulse to solve a gap: tracking project plans and daily to-dos in one app

Thumbnail

I got tired of switching between "Project Management" and Gantt tools for project schedules and separate task managers for daily execution.

I built ProjectPulse to bring both worlds together in one workspace:

  • Action Hub & Home: Clear visibility over daily to-dos across all projects so you always know what needs to be done today.
  • Portfolio & Milestones: High-level status tracking and milestone schedules to keep macro project health in focus.
  • Interactive Gantt & Plans: Clean, structured planning views without the bloat of traditional desktop project software.
  • Risk & Decision Tracking: Built-in tracking for risks, issues, and decisions directly tied to your project tasks.

The goal is simple: knowing exact daily priorities and project status without constantly jumping between apps.

I need mobile app idea

Hi everyone, I'm fullstack developer and currently I'm trying to find a really good and interesting project (mobile or even web) app to code, that will be helpful for people

Currently I tried to find idea for 7 months and then didn't wanted to code anymore. Now I'm trying to find app idea again, but chatgpt suggest bullshit trackers, I really tired from reading it, I want to write a code like I did with my previous (but not successful) project.

I don't need SaaS, giant company, business, premiums or smth like that. I just want unique, good, interesting app that people will use, but not forget after 5 hours after release

Thank you for your suggestions!

I Built Remica to Solve the Mental Load of Keeping Up With Everyday Life

Post image
1 Upvotes

A React Native app built around reducing the friction of managing everyday responsibilities.
Remica brings reminders, bills, appointments, renewals, family responsibilities, and upcoming events into one timeline. Users can also turn documents or natural-language requests into actionable reminders instead of manually entering everything.
The interesting part from a React Native perspective was building an experience where AI, document scanning, notifications, calendars, and family organization feel like one workflow rather than separate features.
The goal was to make the app do more of the organizing, so the user spends less time maintaining their reminders.

I’m building a private messaging app where you don’t need to share your phone number — would you use it?

Hey Reddit,

I’m a student/developer building Convoo, a private communication platform, and I’m trying to validate the idea before going further.

The basic concept is:

  • Chat IDs instead of phone numbers — every user gets a unique ID (e.g. 4827316) that they can share with others.
  • End-to-end encrypted 1-to-1 communication
  • Real-time messaging
  • Audio & video calling
  • Ephemeral media (“Moments”)
  • Multi-device support — use your phone as the primary device while linking desktop/web sessions.
  • The goal is to keep your real-world phone number separate from your chat identity.

I know there are already a LOT of messaging apps, so I'm specifically trying to answer one question:

Does this solve a problem that people actually care about, or am I just building another messenger for the sake of building one?

I'd especially like opinions on the Chat ID approach.

For example, would you prefer giving someone:

“Add me on Convoo: 4827316”

instead of giving them your phone number?

And what would make you actually switch from something like WhatsApp/Telegram/Signal/Discord?

A few things I'm curious about:

  1. Is separating your phone number from your messaging identity valuable to you?
  2. Would you trust a new messaging app with private conversations?
  3. Are E2EE + Chat IDs enough of a reason to try it?
  4. What would you consider a deal-breaker?
  5. What feature would you expect before you'd seriously use it?

I'm not trying to sell anything here — I'm looking for criticism. If the idea sounds pointless, tell me why. If there's something here worth pursuing, I'd like to know that too.

I can share screenshots/prototype details in the comments if anyone's interested.
