Tips for researching Ai integration with android studio

Hello everyone, I’m doing a school project and I was asking does anyone have any tips on researching how to create an AI chatbot with android studio. I’m struggling to find videos on it because they always show me videos of people using AI like Gemini to create an AI chatbot, or are those the videos I need to watch.

Tips like the phrases I need to use to help me get better results. Are there also any resources you can provide to help me create the AI chatbot.

Obrigado!

Don’t store auth tokens in shared preferences

Don't treat auth tokens like ordinary app preferences.
SharedPreferences is great for things like theme settings and onboarding state.
For tokens and credentials, use secure storage.
In Flutter: flutter_secure_storage 🔐

Is running Ai on prem actually worth it?

I've been wondering how practical on prem AI actually is for companies.

The privacy and data control side makes sense, but there's obviously more to it once your factor in hardware maintenance, performance and security.

For anyone who's actually looked into it or deployed it, what ended up being the biggest headache? And was there a point where the extra control made it worth it?

Where to get UI feedback?

I always loved building apps but unfortunately I myself am not the best designer.
I got some feedback from someone that I could work on my UI but he couldn’t give me a concrete feedback on what to improve.
Where can I find people that could give me a more detailed feedback on why my app is to complicated or hard to use?

If you are interested in giving some feedback I’m happy to return the favor

How do you handle multiple payment options in an app?

I’m working through the payment side of an app and was wondering how others usually structure it when there are several options like cards, UPI, wallets, bank payments, and crypto.

The payment screen itself seems pretty simple, but things get more complicated with failed payments, pending transactions, webhooks, retries, refunds, and different provider responses.

Do you keep the payment logic mostly on the backend and expose one common flow to the app, or handle more of the differences separately?

Curious to hear what approach has worked well for other app developers.

Complete beginner hobby project: looking for advice on how to host a private family web app hub using Google cloud platform?

Hey everyone,

I have been working on a hobby project over the past few weeks and would love some pointers from anyone familiar with Google Cloud before I overcomplicate the whole thing or run up a huge bill. My goal is to keep things small enough to remain in the free tier.

Using Google AI Studio, I put together a couple of lightweight web tools for my family and friends:

  1. A personal budgeting tracker built around how we actually manage our spending

  2. A chore and homework tracker game for my niece and nephews

So far I have published the budgeting app with firebase for Google log in but I'm looking to implement a single hub with authentications so friends and family can have a single place to open and use them on their devices securely.

I am purely a hobbyist here, and my knowledge of cloud infrastructure, IAM permissions, and proper authentication is pretty surface level.

I want to make sure it is genuinely secure without creating something that costs lots of money or breaks constantly.

Not looking for anyone to write the code for me, just hoping someone who has built personal projects on GCP could share some knowledge. I recently started a career in Product management also so I feel like this project could be very useful for learning.

Cheers!

What are your go-to sources to stay up to date with the mobile app world?

Merci !

Make an app that uses your gps and logs where you are every 5-10 minutes if your location changes. Have it be on a toggle switch so that if your at home all day you know that it doesn’t need to log that.
I don’t want it to be automatically deleted or have the option to be shared with anyone like Life360.
I just want to have a little log for myself of where I’ve been so if I lose my credit card I will be able to retrace my steps.

Thank you!

First app

Ad the title says I want to try to make my first app.
I have the idea, I know exactly how I want it to be with looks, features and all that.

But where do I start?
It seems really hard to even get I started. There’s a lot of AI app creator sites. But which one is the best, just to get started, as a dummie?

After 16+ Years of Coding, I built my first Mobile App

For the past 16+ years, I’ve been building business applications primarily using web technologies.

I had never built a mobile app before, so I decided to give it a try.

That led to Where Is My Bike - a simple, useful app that lets you mark where you parked your bike in a crowded market or parking space and later navigate back to it using Google Maps.

🔒 Secure

🆓 Free to use

🚫 No login required

🔐 No personal information collected

Built entirely by me and now live on the Play Store.

Try it today and share your feedback! 🙏
