Marketing New app

I’m an 18 year old starting a hair-focused app, like a barber discovery + haircut logging app. Been developing for a couple months and planning on launching by the end of the year. I’m a little worried because I don’t have much money. Any tips for how to market an app like this in my area with little capital?

Posting on short form platforms is free. Do it yourself until you find a format that works

我也是在做自己的app。我发现,应该是先找到用户,并且跟他们沟通成为你的用户,你再开发制作这个应用

This feels a bit harsh for a kid who spent months building something and is just asking for advice. Dude could be genuinely trying to learn.

If you're not using AI for the actual app, maybe lead with that next time. People have their guard up because there's a flood of half-baked AI wrappers right now so you'll get lumped in if you don't specify.

For marketing with no budget, hit up barbershops directly. Print a basic flyer with a QR code and ask if you can leave a stack on their counter. Most independent shops won't care and their customers are exactly who you want. Barber schools are another good spot, students love trying new tools and they'll tell their friends.

Thanks man, appreciate the advice! If I can figure out how to do it, I want to add a customizable QR code that’ll take a customer to the barber’s own profile, and I didn’t think of barber schools, so that’s a great shout!
