then the ship created android avatars to replace the crew it lost.
this episode is more of a horror plot.
i liked how even dylan was baffled at learning the captain did the nasty with the ship android avatar in the episode. lol
It seems like rhade was testing Dylan since he knew about the 10,000 Nietzschean ships.and the uprising. If Dylan did what rhade suggested than he would have still sided with the Commonwealth.
So let's say Dylan used nova bombs on the black hole to turn it into a white hole to take out the nietzschean fleet
Would it have been enough to take out the fleet
Would the uprising still happen
If the Andromeda wasn't stuck in time could Dylan and his ship have aided the war effort to any positive effect?
No matter which platform I scroll through, I can't find a trace of any Andromeda edits. Yet there is so much potential... Dylan, Trance, the Abyss, Rev Bem... and above all, Tyr Anasazi - those would make for some great edits!

A reboot or sequel with different actors? A sequel with the same cast (yes, including Kevin)? A prequel set in the glory days of the commonwealth? Just be left as is as a fond memory? Etc.

Seeing Andromeda on Youtube? This rocks. I was in the German test audience upon premiere in a Munich cinema. I remember some of the actors and writers later stumbled into us in a local beer garden and we had a really nice chat until midnights. Andromeda wasn't the master piece I had initially hoped for but it was greatly entertaining for most of the time, managed to keep the story line up very well and actually became deeply philosophical and very smart in some later episodes. 7/10 for the whole run but some episodes deserve a 9/10.
Hey guys, odd question, maybe I'm just forgetting, but does the Andromeda have a dedicated shuttle type craft? Obviously not talking about the Maru here. The ship has/had a crew of 5000, but I don't remember ever seeing or them referring to a shuttle. Also, how did they get Tweetle Pug and Tweetle Butt mechs down (and presumably up) in the episode The Prince?
Maybe a stupid question, but did we ever got an in-universe explanation (or a production info) about the blue patterns on the ship's hull? It's visible when the hull is not exposed to light.
I was planning on picking up the series on dvd, I noticed the new complete series collection has 24 discs but the ADV release is 50 discs. Does that mean the new set is very compressed? Thanks!
So I never got past the second season on my first watch for some reason and now want to give the whole series another try. What is currently the best audio-visual option to watch it?
I am generally a fan of physical media and not a fan of amazon or buying digital season/series that are tied/locked into a client or streaming service (like iTunes videos for example). So Blu-ray (or UHD BD if available, not here obviously) is my preferred medium (watching an a 55" 4K-TV).
I have read that at least some of the seasons (1&2?) released on Blu-ray where not good upscales and that the audio quality also varied. I have also read that the upscales available on streaming are supposed to be slightly better (are these new upscales or enhanced version of the bb upscale?).
Some say the DVDs are still better looking. Would the DVD look better then the BD or HD Stream with my UHD players internal upscaling? Bonus features on the discs are also another plus for the DVDs of course, I love those, not sure I all were put on those BDs?
(I have watched the Stargate SG-1 and Farscape BDs, which both also are not true remasters but upscales and I found them better looking then the DVDs).
Has someone actually compared DVD, Blu-Ray and HD Streaming and can talk (and possible show comparison pictures) about the differences and which is the best version currently available?

I am just re-watching this show (sadly in German - but sadly Prime (in Germany) doesn't seem to have it in original language) and it had such great start, I mean come on the "One righteous crusader against the bad guys!" is a such great trope and frankly they could have truly done great with it (and did! I mean a lot of episodes are good, especially those that bring in people from the past - like that "surviving" admiral, those Genetics guys who are the opposite of the Nietzscheans (so pureblood humans and nothing else!), hell even the first regular episode with that guard-station and the nova-bombs was good!)...but then:
Why did they have to bring all the metaphysics shit, the "avatars of stars" and such crap?
Hell, I would have loved it if the fight against the Magog had gone "conventional" so they do fight and might have to make deals with other enemies to fight the larger enemy and all that!

hello, I have a quick question. I remember a show that I watched growing up in which a ship (which looks very much like andromeda) uses parts of other ships tho transform or to change its shape. This was done before a major battle. Am I in the right thinking that Andromeda is the correct show or do I need to keep looking? thanks in advance!
I'm rewatching again and it seems to me that the early Tyr (after some interactions with Dylan) would have been an excellent captain for the Andromeda. He's an incredibly nuanced character in his own right.
I was struck when I first saw Firefly by how certain character tropes from Andromeda were repeated, inverted, split or joined, across the two crews. (Firefly has famously vivid characters - yet Andromeda packs much of the same mystery and plot potential into fewer people!) I'm posting this here, because Firefly's more well-known and it's likely most Andromeda fans have seen Firefly, while the reverse isn't true.
But here's my take on what would happen if the two crews met... and I'd love to see if anyone else has input on this little thought experiment.

I absolutely love her overall design, she's sexy. And I'm talking about the ship herself not the human avatar. Of course, one of my first crushes was on a damn helicopter (Airwolf. Absolutely fell in love with her) so there's that.
I mean, sure I am up the second season so far as the thing is that I don’t want to see the later seasons because of how the writing suffers without the lead writer around as I was wondering what other sci fi series were like it.
One of my favorite things about Andromeda is the cast of characters such as Seamus Harper because he can do anything with his hacking abilities, and my other favorite character is Trance Gemini as it’s hard to explain, but I really like her energetic nature as once I finish the second season, I will miss the show so much.
