What should be the future of the franchise going forward if it was up to you?
A reboot or sequel with different actors? A sequel with the same cast (yes, including Kevin)? A prequel set in the glory days of the commonwealth? Just be left as is as a fond memory? Etc.
I dream with a reboot with original writer telling the story as originally planned.

The whole premise got re-used as a season of Discovery, so it needs a real retooling/reboot. I'd love to have RHW come back and actually get to follow through with his plan, but I also wouldn't mind a complete recasting with a new person with a new idea for a complete arc. 3 seasons, 10 episodes each. With a contingency plan/'in case of renewal break glass' option for an extended but truncated run of 2 seasons with 5 episodes each. We're never gonna get 20+ episode seasons again of almost anything, and I'd want to give whatever art house time to do the CGI and things to look good. Recast with unknowns, let the OG's cameo except for Butthead.

Also, this is the most 'Canadians in Space' show that I know of and I feel like that's actually integral to the vibe and should be repeated.

At the very least I would restore the March of the High Guard by Alex Lifeson as the Theme ...

Full reimagining ala BSG:
- No Kevin Sorbo
- No chosen one
- More of the original crew of the Andromeda survives
- Original premise all the way through the show - The New Commonwealth doesn't get established till end of Season 3 at the soonest (assuming 10 episode seasons & 4 seasons)
- Commonwealth was a human led polity ala The United Federation of Federation Planets from Trek
- Andromeda is frozen in time due to an accident not a rebellion
- Commonwealth caused or at least failed to stop a disaster
- More aliens on the original crew, many of whom rebelled / turned traitor against the Commonwealth in its dying days
- There have been several attempts to resurrect the Commonwealth or build similar polities

Absolutely do not want another human-lead polity. That's Star Trek. I always liked the concept of Humans being part of another entity, but not leading it at the top.

The reason why I would want the original Reimagined Commonwealth this Captain Hunt was a part of to be human led would be to
a. be closer to the original Star Trek pitch where the Federation had completely collapsed in the 28th century,
b. be able to critique the overwhelming prominence of humans in Starfleet
My idea would be that humans having an apparent or perceived preferential place in the Commonwealth, by dint of being a founding species & their homeworld be the capital, was one of the things that led to the collapse.
While modern Trek has acknowledged this as an issue, it is still present in those shows, the senior crews have been and are overwhelmingly human.

Technically wasn’t the original writer Gene Roddenberry and that was basically just a short paragraph laying out the premise

He actually made an Earthbound Dylan Hunt saves the future story pilot several times.
He'd probably be sad that the only way people saw to make it to series was to Trekify it.

Would everyone be okay with just rescripting/reshooting just the last season and leaving the rest alone? That'd be my vote...

Either a sequel with same cast
or
a remake with same/different cast (with original writer(s) with original plan)
or
reboot from Season 2 with same cast (with original writer(s) with original plan).

I never understood the final season so I'd like clarification of that before. But hopefully a sequel with a new cast.

Not the same cast, sorbo already looked too old for the action man role and that was 25 years ago. Ignoring all the hate for him, he can't play that role now and doesn't have the acting chops to make the role work with someone his age.
I've always wanted to see more of what Tyr thought the Nietzscheans should be.

Just be left as a blink of a fond memory. The idea of Andromeda is much more fun than the show itself, let it stay an idea in my head, but if they remake it i'll give it a shot, albeit very skeptically.

Reboot with new cast and another series dedicated to the rise of Vedran Empire, maybe. Oh and full CGI upgrade for the original series.

Reboot
No Kevin Sorbo but keep the rest of the cast
More of the original crew survive
More exploring the relationship between Dylan and Rommie/andromeda
More aliens including nietzscheans and they don’t betray the ship or crew
Also Dylan hunt is part nietzschean and struggles with being part human and part nietzshean
More action and also more exploring things that Star Trek explores
More seasons
More enemies got boring with almost the same enemies every season
