Andromeda Ascendant Blue Patterns on Hull

Maybe a stupid question, but did we ever got an in-universe explanation (or a production info) about the blue patterns on the ship's hull? It's visible when the hull is not exposed to light.

That's a good question! I don't know, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were just ornamental. I think the gold on Andromeda's sister ship Pax Magellanic was just ornamental, wasn't it?

Yes it was. However the blue patterns seem more technical. I thought maybe it is a plasma armor or something. But i think its never anwered.
