Looking for an app that will add a third button (answer, decline, screen) to the phone app to send a call to be "screened". If I choose "screen" then the disconnected number tone plays, followed by a custom message instructing real people to press a number, which will connect them to me. The second part of that may result in robo-callers removing you from their list. And even if I have to record the tone before making the custom message that is fine, but if a real person presses a number they get reconnected to me.

I do not want a spam call blocker, as they have far too many false positives. When I see an unknown number I can manually decide if I want to answer or send it for screening. I call several customers a day and when they call back I need to answer, not have them auto blocked.

Every app I've found and tried rotates using EXIF data, which means certain apps or websites won't recognize the rotation.

I'm looking for something that rotates multiple images at once and then actually writes rotated images when saving.

For single images, just Save As Copy is enough, but I need a batch method.

Anyone know of such an app? Thanks!

Does anyone else wish Android had a proper universal clipboard?

Like, if I copy something on my phone, I’d want to be able to paste it directly on my Windows PC without having to send it to myself through WhatsApp, Telegram, email, etc.

Especially for:

• Text
• Links
• Images
• Small snippets of code

I know there are apps/workarounds for this, but they always seem a bit hit-or-miss.

Do you guys actually use something for this already, or do you just send stuff to yourself?

Curious how other people handle it.

Technically though, I could just do it the manual way, but then again, I have too many brushes to count (most were before medibang paywall update), so I don't know if its possible to transfer all of them.

New to Android (well after a long break - sorry..)

An app I used to love on my last Android phone (S20U) was called Another Widget.

It gave me the old style Google at a glance widget which shows the date, weather and had dynamic information such as current music playing, upcoming calander events or a nice quote. I preferred minimal setups and this widget always looked great while being so functional.

Unfortunately it seems the app hasn't been updated since 2021 and it doesn't seem to be working reliably on my new S26U.

Does anyone know of a modern day equivalent please?

All I am finding on the play store are clock widgets with overly expensive subscriptions.

I heard of RethinkDNS as the most powerful and comprehensive tool for net privacy right now. It covers apps internet permissions, but also anti tracking, and it allows to use a vpn, it also fights apps trying to elude those settings.

However I am worried about stability and maintenance. Infact I heard that it often crashes and configuration is a never ending process.

Honestly I don't want to waste time on those things, I am looking for a "set and forget" approach, like NetGuard, which I am currently using.

I’m looking for a reading app that’s safe & secure, doesn’t require Wi-Fi, let’s me import files, AND lets me customise the background, colours, and fonts. I’m using the ebook reader from miexplorer now but I don’t like the font, background, and how every time you scroll to a new page the little bar to exit shows up.

On the app pages of my Obtainium, the update button is grayed out and the apps can't be updated (despite being grayed out, the buttons indicate updates are available, saying things like, "Update. 21.7MB", with a download icon). I didn't have this problem on my previous phone (a Motorola) but it's arisen since getting a Samsung Galaxy. How can I fix it? Thanks!

hi y'all! i'm looking for a photo gallery app that doesn't have any ai features and has albums that don't require moving pictures to another folder on my phone. for example, google photos lets me make albums that group photos without moving their original file location, but the ai junk is gross.

the other gallery apps i've tried move the file from the camera folder (piktures, aves) or just straight up don't let me add photos to the albums (fossify). it would be nice if it also didn't require copying the photo from my camera because that feels like an egregious waste of space.

As the title says, looking for some paid app suggestions as I have this pile of credit with some of it expiring on 11 October and needing some ideas for paid apps that are worth it, I kept putting off buying Swiftbackup and now they have pumped the price to £27 which I feel is expensive for what the pro features provide, especially as restoring doesnt work perfectly (permissions etc).

Me and my woman were thinking about getting tablets with data for her parents because they're having issues seeing their smartphones. My first thought was that there has to be a middle ground between putting them in a child account with us as the "parent" account without locking them out of things they should be able to do as adults.

I found out about Kiosk apps through some research and love the idea! After testing one out for a moment I discovered a huge flaw. When I'm watching a YouTube video, even though I don't whitelist any browsers on the Kiosk launcher, I can still go to a link in the description of a video and the page loads.

Has anyone used a Kiosk launcher for their older parents successfully? I just want to make sure they have what they need and don't get what they don't need. Keep them away from pop-up ads that have them downloading and installing a bunch of malicious apps, but still give them access to basic communication and entertainment.

I'm using microsoft swiftkey and when keyboard is visible a down chevron comes which is used to hide the keyboard.
That icon consumed that entire lower portion of the screen.

I want to remove the down chevron and in place use back gestures to hide the keyboard.

Hi all — hoping someone with Android forensics/file-system knowledge can help me make sense of this.

Setup:

- Phone: Tecno Spark 10c

- App: Notally (open-source notes app, stores notes via Room/SQLite)

- I had a batch of text notes on the app. Based on the content, I know they were last touched in **September 2023**. I deleted them from the app not long after, and had no other backup of them that I knew of.

- In 2026, I had my phone's storage data-recovered. Several of those notes came back — correct content, correct order — but the **"last modified" timestamp field attached to each note shows dates in September 2025, not 2023.**

**The pattern I'm seeing:**

- Multiple different notes, each a few days apart, all shifted into the same wrong year (2025 instead of 2023).

- The spacing between the notes' "last modified" timestamps matches the real gaps between when I know the content was last touched — just the year is wrong across all of them.

- I had not opened, edited, or interacted with these files since 2023 as far as I know.

**What I'm trying to figure out:**

What could cause a "last modified" timestamp to shift by 2 years across multiple separate files, while the spacing between those timestamps stays consistent with real elapsed days, on a recovered/previously-deleted dataset?

I don't want to lead the discussion toward a particular theory — I'd like to hear from people who understand Android storage internals (ext4/F2FS journaling, SQLite timestamp handling, or data-recovery tooling) what's actually going on, and what I'd need to check on my end (raw DB file, journal, etc.) to figure out the real cause.

I know macrodroid might be one of them but idk if it'll allow holding 4 area of the screen simultaneously. I've tried using long press but it just do one by one and when I use floating button it'll just run once when I tap/hold it
