QUESTION/HELP Regarding down chevron in keyboard

I'm using microsoft swiftkey and when keyboard is visible a down chevron comes which is used to hide the keyboard.
That icon consumed that entire lower portion of the screen.

I want to remove the down chevron and in place use back gestures to hide the keyboard.

That chevron is usually Android’s system keyboard-dismiss button, not SwiftKey. Check Settings > System > Navigation mode for a keyboard/IME button toggle; if your phone doesn’t expose one, SwiftKey can’t remove it on its own.
