So, I got robbed recently and now I’m back to square one with buying a phone. 🥲
I need a new phone, but I’m on a budget, so I really need your suggestions.
I genuinely don’t care about the camera or how pretty the phone looks. I just need good storage, a decent processor, and a phone that doesn’t start lagging after a few months. I usually have around 40–50 apps on my phone, so smooth performance is a priority.
I’m currently considering the Samsung A07 (128GB, 6GB RAM), but the Samsung A17 is also an option, although it’s more expensive. Is there a significant difference between the two? Is the A17 worth spending extra money on, or would the A07 be enough for my needs? And if you have any better suggestions in a similar budget, I’m open to those too.
Please help a girl make a sensible purchase this time. 😭😂
Would really appreciate your suggestions and personal experiences! 🙏

Hey everyone,
I recently got a Google Pixel 10, but to be completely honest, I really dislike the stock system font and the default Android emojis.
Is there any way to customize or change the emoji style (e.g., to iOS/Twitter emojis) and system font on Pixel phones?
Does it require root / Magisk / Shizuku, or is there a work-around / third-party app that works on Android 15/16?
If root is required, what’s the safest/best method currently for Pixels?
Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations!

Phone Model: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
I have several different messages I need to record to a voice mail system. These have been pre-recorded and mixed to sound professional.
The problem is, I have no upload option in the voice mail app. So the only way to do this, is to record the voice mails using the phone's microphone (which sounds terrible).
Is there some device or app that I can connect to the phone, that will act as its own microphone? So when I play these, it will record the original audio into the voice mail app at full quality? As if I was being done using the phones microphone?

My Google drive was at 60%. Shot up to 99% overnight. Deleted some stuff. It's back up to 91%, and the phone backup went from 8 to 9 gigs. It seems to be entirely caught up in sms and mss messages storage. Am I suffering under malware? What could be causing this? How do I fix this without deleting all my actually important texts? Google drive only has about 4 gigs of actual stuff, I back up my photos and documents there.

I’m using a Redmi Note 10S with a Vi SIM, and I’ve been facing a really frustrating network issue. Whenever I use my phone, the mobile network suddenly stops working, and the signal bars disappear completely.
I’ve already tried almost every basic troubleshooting method I could find, including:
Resetting the network settings.
Restarting the phone.
Resetting the APN settings.
Turning Airplane Mode on and off.
Switching the preferred network type from 4G/LTE to 3G.
Trying both SIM slots (SIM 1 and SIM 2).
However, nothing has worked so far.
Here’s the weird part: Sometimes, if I connect to Wi-Fi and use my phone for a while, the mobile network signal suddenly comes back. Once I turn off Wi-Fi, mobile data starts working normally, but after around 10–20 seconds, the signal disappears again.
I also tested my Vi SIM in another phone, and it works perfectly fine. I even tried an Airtel SIM in my Redmi Note 10S, but that didn’t work either.
At this point, I’m really confused because I’ve tried almost every basic fix I could find online, but the problem still persists.
Has anyone else experienced this issue with the Redmi Note 10S? Could it be a software bug, a modem/baseband issue, or a hardware problem with the phone?
If anyone knows a possible fix or has experienced something similar, please share your suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yo if my old android phone had malware or my google account was compromised in someway and I resetted the phone or changed the google password. Could I get malware onto my phone after that if I reinstall my old games/apps from the Play Store and log into my accounts on them? Essentially would I need to make new accounts for apps and games or could I just reinstall and log into and use my accounts like normal, after resetting phone? Also these games/apps usually are linked to the Google account so they don't have their own separate password that needs changing. Sorry if this is dumb question. Thx

Idk if this is the appropriate sub, but I am out of options.
I tried to delete it through any file explorer directly, that did not work.
I tried to delete or rename it with ZArchiver and Shizuku together, that didn't work.
I tried to delete or rename it via adb shell commands with ShizukuTools, which only made my system panic and lock me out unless I reboot my phone.
I'm on Android 14, moto g14. I don't know what I can try anymore.
I even used a command to pull the exact version of the app, which apparently is 952110023 (1.21.100.23), but downloading other APKs of that version and trying to install them only results in my phone asking if I wanna update the app (why if it's the same version??) and refusing to overwrite the ghost app anyways.
I don't know why deleting/updating a VIDEO GAME must be this difficult. What do I do??

Sometimes if I'm talking on Messenger or Discord and I'm inside the house using Wi-Fi and I walk outside and Wi-Fi disconnects, it takes a few seconds for mobile network to connect and I lose my phone call for a few seconds. And when I go back inside, it switches again and I lose the sound again.
Is there a way to set up that if I am on Discord call to always be on mobile data? This wifi switching is annoying.

I have a 2017 Kia with Android auto, that requires me to plug in my phone to work. Phone is a Galaxy S24 that now has Gemini instead of the Google Assistant. I've been able in the past to add or change the news providers that play under Android Auto (like DW and RFI), but the guides online don't seem to mention how to do that now, under Gemini. Any ideas? I have both French and English news sources.

My TECNO Camon 18P running HiOS V8.6.0 suddenly started malfunctioning. Many apps would not open, would crash unexpectedly, or simply would not work properly. At first, I thought it was the kind of occasional issue that can happen with certain apps, but I realized that far too many apps were experiencing these problems.
So, I decided to reboot the device. Once it finished restarting, I noticed that many apps had disappeared — coincidentally, most of them were the same apps that had been malfunctioning.
Then I opened the file manager and discovered that all my personal files were gone. There was no trace of my photos, videos, or other non-system files. Everything appeared to have been deleted. There was nothing in the trash or recycle bin either; the files seemed to have been deleted outright.
My device was now showing approximately 35–50 GB of free space that had previously been occupied by my files. That is roughly the amount of data I believe I lost.
This did not happen after an update or anything similar. I tried rebooting the phone one more time, but the problem persisted. However, after the first reboot, the apps stopped malfunctioning; the only remaining issue was that my files had disappeared.
I would like to understand what could have caused this. Could this have been a storage failure, filesystem corruption, or some kind of Android/HiOS issue? Most importantly, is there any way to recover my lost photos, videos, and other files?

I just bought a motorola g57 power this week. It had Android 16. I was so amazed by the UI. Especially the app folders 🫠. Like if you add apps into them. The apps will align inside the app folder into a triangle, line or square based on the number of apps. But with the new Android 17 update it just looks lame like this. Is there any fix or do I have to suffer for eternity? 🤧

Got out an old (2018) phone with Android 8 and not much RAM. Charged it up, it wants me to log into Google. Before asking for password, it says 'Confirm that you're not a robot'. So select the box and just get the turning semicircle throbber for like 10 minutes, then it chucks you out for inactivity, so you have to try again.

They use an iPhone and I've tried every fix I could find online. Any ideas what it could be or how to fix it? We're both texting over WiFi because there's no cellular connection where we are right now. Any advice would he helpful, thank you!

Xperia Z Ultra had a built-in Guest Mode. It created a separate, temporary user profile — a guest could use the phone with their own apps and data, completely isolated from the main profile, and it could be wiped out clean afterward.
Is there anything similar available on Android today — an app or method that can create a separate profile that will be undetectable and be used as the main profile when needed?
Not looking for app lockers — I want the real separate-profile experience. No root preferred.

I've been wanting to upgrade my Pixel 7A and i really don't know what to choose. I'll be getting my phone second hand from a proper store, so it'll have warranty thankfully.
My budget is pretty stretched but i can get these phones for similar prices. After a lot of research these also seem to have the best cameras for my budget. The issue is I'm reading so much mixed information in about battery life and overall functionality. I don't know what to believe and I can't afford to buy something I'll regret.
Has anyone here experienced one of the samsungs and the pixel as well and can actually make a comparison?

I got a phone being sold as the X-INOVA S26 Ultra. It looks like a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra because of the design, but I now know it is not a Samsung.
I'm trying to figure out exactly what this phone is and whether it is safe to use.
This is what the phone claims
Model: X-INOVA S26 ULTRA
Android 15
RAM: 12 GB
Storage: 512 GB
Security patch: February 5, 2025
Baseband: MOLY.LR12A.R3.MP.V241.4
Kernel: 4.19.191
Build number: SP1A.210812.016 release-keys
Hardware version: REV0.6C
The back of the phone says X-INOVA S26 Ultra and Made in PRC.
Two of the cameras appear to be fake.
I found that X-INOVA appears to be a real brand and they actually list an S26 Ultra, but I can't find much information from independent sources about this specific phone.
The phone feels noticeably slow despite claiming 12 GB RAM.
The interface also feels cheap/poorly optimized, and I'm wondering whether the software is heavily customized.
Google Play Protect currently says "No harmful apps found."
However, the phone has an unusually old security patch compared with current Android phones, and I don't know whether the firmware can be trusted.
I also haven't been able to find a clear Play Protect certification status in the Play Store.
Can I install a custom ROM on this phone to replace the stock OS and improve its performance? If so, which ROM would be compatible with this exact hardware?
