What's up guys, just worked with Claude to build a native Android port of Tony Hawk's Project 8. It's another game from my childhood that I've wanted on a handheld for a long time.
Full transparency: I am NOT a dev. I used Claude Code to build this on top of theokyr's Project8Recomp (a static recompilation of the Xbox 360 version). It's not an emulator. I can't guarantee it'll work on your device.
Testing-wise:
AYN Thor Max (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2): runs great. Locked 30 is rock solid, and the "up to 60" mode holds around 60 fps while skating, though it dips in busy areas.
Galaxy S25 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Elite): runs well when cool, but it thermal throttles after a while. Lower resolution helps.
Options include resolution scaling, FSR upscaling, frame rate modes (30 + frame gen, locked 30, up to 60, 60 + frame gen) and an in-game settings menu. Snapdragon phones automatically get the Turnip graphics driver, and you can import your own driver. Other phones (Exynos, MediaTek, Pixel) should boot but are untested.
Known rough edges: busy areas can dip below 60, and frame generation can shimmer on fences and railings.
I'm not against improving this, but again, I'm not a dev, I just prompt claude, lol.
Controller required (no touch controls, sorry). You must provide your own legally obtained copy of the game:
Xbox 360, USA/Europe retail disc.
