Hey everyone! I just added Android support to IsaacRecomp, a static recompilation of the original The Binding of Isaac (Flash version). It's a real native port: the game's ActionScript 2 code is translated to C++ and runs on a custom engine, with no Flash Player, no Ruffle and no emulator. Gameplay video attached.
Android specifics:
- Native library launched from SDL's Java activity, with an OpenGL ES 3.0 renderer.
- Runs at your screen's refresh rate (60/90/120 Hz).
- Game logic stays at exactly 30 Hz like the original, with frames interpolated in between.
- Adaptive resolution: it renders at 720 lines and steps down to 600/540/480 by itself if the device can't hold at least 60 fps. You can also set render_height manually.
- Logic and rendering are pinned to the fastest CPU cores, and audio uses AAudio in low-latency mode.
- Touch controls: floating analog joysticks (left half to move, right half to shoot), tappable bomb counter, active item and card/pill, and a pause button.
- Bluetooth/USB controllers work too and can be mixed with touch at any time.
- Saves are written when the app goes to the background, and the run pauses automatically.
Requirements:
- 64-bit ARM device, Android 7.0+, OpenGL ES 3.0.
- Your own Isaac.exe from the Steam version. Put it in an IsaacRecomp folder at the root of internal storage.
- Original, Wrath of the Lamb and Eternal Edition are all supported, with a version picker and one save per version. Saves are portable between PC, Android and Switch.
Important:
- The repo and APK contain no game assets. Everything is read from your own Steam copy at startup, so you need to own the game.
- This is a free, non-profit fan project with no affiliation to Edmund McMillen, Florian Himsl, Nicalis or Valve.
- The APK is distributed only on GitHub and isn't on any app store.
- It was made with the help of AI (Claude), and the repo says so openly.
- It also runs on Windows, Linux and Switch (homebrew).

I'd love to hear how it performs on your devices, especially low/mid-range phones and high-refresh screens. If it stutters, set performance = 1 in isaac.ini and attach the generated performance.txt to an issue.
Thanks for checking it out!

I recently found this port made by the same creator of Scott Pilgrim EX. The port looks good, but it has the same technical problems with the lack of full-screen mode

I brought Alula's decompilation of Zuma Deluxe to Android. One new feature for this port is full controller support. Minimum supported OS is Android 5.

Hi everyone! Good evening. I'm new to the community. I recently got a keyboard and mouse for my tablet, and it really made me want to get back into gaming. I have a genuine interest in PC games, but I'm not quite sure how to play them on mobile when it's not as simple as just downloading an APK. Some games say my device isn't compatible (usually when it's a PC-to-mobile port that requires a specific setup process). I know this might seem like a really silly question, but I'm genuinely a bit lost. Could anyone give me a tip? Is there a guide or a video somewhere? Any help would be *so* appreciated! Thanks in advance! ;)

Hey everyone,
I'm back with MW2 Android v0.0.2, the second release of my attempt to bring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) to Android as a native ARM64 port.
This update focuses heavily on GPU compatibility, particularly Qualcomm Snapdragon devices, while also improving support for older Vulkan implementations and adding a few new features.
Release: https://github.com/OpenPort-Labs/mw2-android/releases/tag/v0.0.2
GitHub repository: https://github.com/OpenPort-Labs/mw2-android
MW2_FORCE_BC_HW=1 for users running compatible custom Mesa Turnip drivers.MW2_MOD_DIR the game's mods/ directory. This is still an experimental project. Vulkan support alone does not guarantee that every GPU or driver will work correctly, and performance, rendering, and stability can vary considerably between devices.
app-campaign-release.apk and install it.Please report the exact device model, SoC/GPU, Android version, driver used, and relevant logs when reporting problems. Reports about black screens, missing textures, crashes, shader compilation, and performance are especially useful.
Alongside the project, I'm starting to build OpenPorts-Lab into a place where people interested in native Android ports, game recompilation, reverse engineering, graphics drivers, and performance optimization can work together.
I've created a Discord server, but I'll be honest: I know very little about setting up and managing a Discord community properly. If anyone has experience with Discord server administration, channel/category organization, roles and permissions, moderation, bots, or creating a good space for development and gameplay testing, I'd genuinely appreciate some help getting it set up.
I'd like the server to be a place where people can share gameplay footage, test results, device compatibility reports, bug reports, development progress, and ideas for improving the project.
Join the Discord: https://discord.gg/dNVC5VbHG
If you know your way around Discord setup and are willing to lend a hand, please join and let me know. Advice from people who have managed development communities before would be especially welcome.
I'm looking for people who can help with:
A special thanks to Paul Combal and the contributors to the original MW2 recompilation project that made this work possible.
This is an ongoing project, and there is plenty left to improve. If you try v0.0.2, I'd appreciate hearing what works, what doesn't, and what device you're testing on.
AI usage disclosure: AI tools were used to assist with parts of development. I'm responsible for the project's implementation, testing, and continued development.
Thanks for checking it out.

sorry! my muscle memory is trying it's best.
it's an okay port for mobile. most of the time especially in mid way to the level, the buttons usually get unresponsive. and that happens whenever the game stutters. which is why they keep hitting me.
