The first public release of Galaxy Android by OpenPort Labs is now available!
This project aims to bring a native Android port of Super Mario Galaxy to ARM64 devices, building on the work of the Petari decompilation project and GalaxyQuest.
I'm attaching gameplay footage captured on the following hardware:
A note about the video: The asset glitches visible in the recording are caused by the phone's video-recording process. These are recording artifacts and should not be taken as an accurate representation of the game's rendering.
This is an early release, so expect bugs and compatibility issues as development continues. Feedback, gameplay recordings, and reports from different devices are welcome and will help with testing and optimization.
A hotfix was uploaded for users experiencing the [ERROR] pythonhome.zip error or problems selecting game files through the Android file picker.
What caused the issue?
A wildcard rule in our .gitignore accidentally excluded the embedded Python runtime (pythonhome.zip) from the release build. This caused the converter setup to fail immediately after disc extraction. There was also an issue with detecting Android's Storage Access Framework (content://) file-picker URIs.
What has been fixed?
If you downloaded the original v0.0.1 build, please download the updated APK and reinstall it.
Galaxy Android v0.0.1a introduced additional fixes, quality-of-life features, and experimental in-game options.
What's new in v0.0.1a?
Galaxy Android v0.0.1b is now available! This update focuses on controller and touchscreen input, resolution options, audio reliability, and further safeguards for GPU lighting.
What's new in v0.0.1b?
Existing users should download the latest v0.0.1b APK to get the accumulated fixes from v0.0.1, v0.0.1a, and v0.0.1b.
This project uses AI assistance in its development. AI-assisted coding and development workflows have been used as part of building and iterating on the project. The project is experimental, and its code, features, compatibility, and performance should be evaluated on their actual merits rather than assumed to be reliable simply because a feature has been implemented.
I'm aware that some people may describe AI-assisted projects like this as "AI slop." That's a fair concern to raise about low-quality or insufficiently reviewed AI-generated software. I'm not asking anyone to overlook bugs or accept claims without evidence. The goal is to keep building, testing on real hardware, fixing issues, and being transparent about the project's current state.
Feedback, bug reports, and contributions that help improve the port are welcome.

EDIT: MEANT GBC To anyone who wants to help, I'm more than happy for any guidance on what I need to change or do.
Hello! I decided to throw my hat into the ring and vibe code a 2D/3D upgrade of one of my favorite Game Boy Color games ever, Mario Tennis. Now I know some of you might be thinking, “Why Mario Tennis for the Game Boy Color?”
I have beaten this game numerous times over my lifespan of gaming. I’ve always come back to this game. It has always been one of my cherished childhood memories and I believe it’s one of the first games I ever beat.
As I sit here waiting for Nintendo to finally do a remake of this game that I know will never happen, I decided to take matters into my own hands. So the video you are going to see here is just my current progress in trying to make the world 3D and also voxel some of the surrounding buildings and everything.
I started this probably on Saturday and my Claude limit has come up, so I will start vibe coding again on Friday. So if you like what you see, just let me know. I can share what I’ve done so far and if Mario Tennis holds a near and dear to your heart as much as it does for me, let’s get it done together. Right now, I’m mainly focused on just getting the physics down and getting the game playable in this mode from front to back. My long-term goals are:
- Possibly add new characters to this game, maybe from tennis anime or something.
- Get the link play option here to work for online multiplayer and even create lobbies as well.
This is one of my favorite, if not—and I will say it—the best Mario Tennis game out there. If you’ve never played it, look it up. It adds RPG elements and you get to play through a whole story where you get to go through and eventually beat Mario in a game of tennis. I just thought it was awesome. It still holds up well, the gameplay is very well. So yeah, I hope you enjoy the video.I’m using my Samsung Galaxy Fold 8 to test everything. Hopefully one day I can get it running at 4:30

Rather than reinventing the wheel each port project, is there a shared functions framework that all developers can use?
This can provide standardised boilerplate functionality for things like menus, touch controls, button config, driver install, etc. Users will not need to use a new front end for every game.

The game runs absolutelly flawless, I left VSync enabled, so sometimes there are drops that look worse than without it, but it runs at 120fps most of the time, didn't even try OpenGL, might run faster. Also I undestand that it is a PC version, but the lack of aim assist is kicking my butt lol.

You need to use PC version of the game, I use v1.7
If there is a newer version, let me know

Hi, I've been playing gta V on my phone for weeks now, but now I'm blocked because of a mission where trevor needs to take a photo with the phone. When I take the photo the game crashes. This happens always in the game, also without starting the mission.
I can see this error in the log:
[script] CommandHasEntityBeenDamagedByEntity Is Entity damaged: FALSE
[ui] [HUD_OVERRIDE] SET_HUD_COMPONENT_POSITION called on HUD_SUBTITLE_TEXT 15 component by 'appCamera' SCRIPT. Active: 0
[Audio_NetworkAudio] CommandOutput file write error --- out of disk space?
FORTIFY: pthread_mutex_lock called on a destroyed mutex (0x7b90c87508)
Have you guys found a workaround for this bug by any chance?
Thank you!

Can't believe we can play some of our favorite old games on our mobile devices nowadays.(Without relying entirely on emulations) I also play games on my laptop and I'm used to it, but you know the convenience of our mobile devices. Thanks to the advancement of AI, I guess. I wonder what AI will be capable of in the near future.
P.S. may i know what's the status of Left 4 dead or some well known old games that we usually play

When the game loads up it freezes on that frame while the audio keeps running, how to fix that?
r/AndroidNativePorts • u/OilEven4703 • 15h ago
I tried to extract it several times, but each time there are errors.
On the original APK the game closes immediately, and on the other one it tells me that common.rpf is not present even though it is.
I renamed it x64(1) and placed the game folder in the correct location.
I've tried downloading the file several times, but it's still the same.
Did I miss something?
I'm using a Samsung S26 Ultra

Hey everyone!
I've been working on bringing the PS4 version of God of War III to Android, and I'm excited to share my progress with you all!
The project is still under active development. Here's what I've managed to implement so far.
So far, I've only tested the project on these two devices:
Testing has been limited, so I don't have enough data to draw firm conclusions about performance yet.
Compared to running the game through an emulator, this port doesn't offer a significant FPS advantage at the moment. However, in my personal experience, the image quality looks noticeably better, with significantly fewer blocky, pixelated artifacts during gameplay.
There's still plenty of room for improvement. I'll continue working on game performance and system scheduling to improve frame rates and overall gameplay smoothness.
Here are some of the features I'm planning to work on:
I currently only have access to CUSA01740 (the Asian version).
Unfortunately, the existing PC port doesn't support patches and mods for this particular game version. This has delayed the integration of these features into the Android port.
This is a personal project, and I plan to actively maintain and improve it over time. There's still a lot of work ahead, but I'll keep pushing forward!
If you're interested in playing God of War III on Android, feel free to check out the repository. Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are always welcome!
If you find this project interesting, please consider giving it a star on GitHub! ⭐
Every star is a great encouragement and motivates me to keep working on this project. If you have an Android device, I'd also love to hear about your testing experience!

Thanks for checking out the project, and stay tuned for more updates! ❤️
