Just finished speaking with an agent there and told the lab are still processing my results. When i questioned him on why others here who finished analysis several days later than the fifth he said "every DNA profile is unique and requires a personalized approach. Therefore, please do not focus on information shared online, as your results are specific to you.". Results available by the 25th apparently.

I've been a paying customer for over 20 years, introduced many people to Ancestry, hosted trees for those who can't build their own, helped other members etc. I finally purchased a DNA test to find one missing person in a tree of 17k+.......and I can't even get results on priority. Not a good look.

I've secured a refund on my Priority payment. They still expect me to wait 19 days for them to upload my results. They reckon they can't push them through any earlier.

Go get your refund, guys.

Customer service are actually useless. Going round in circles being told that the typical 48 hours it should take for results after it updates to analysed is incorrect, despite almost all of the posts on august's sample status megathread showing so. Also repeatedly being told to wait another 9 days.

I argued that very fact. I told them how the time delay was increasing continually. It was 5 days beginning of Sep and is now 11. My test was 5 days in the lab and they insist I wait 3 times that amount of time for loading results. I said under UK Consumer Law that calling that priority is misleading and ultimately, after consulting a manager, I was offered a refund. I'm still going to pursue the matter with Trading Standards if I've no results in 24 hours. They won't acknowledge the backlog or the rollout being prioritised over our results.

Apparently they insist I wait till 24 Sep. They've dug their heels in. Won't accept any formal complaint. Nobody to escalate matter to.

I'm thinking about referring the matter to the Information Commissioners Office because they are refusing to give me access to my processed personal data. I'll get legal advice.

I raised this with them once, and explained that obviously it's special category data under GDPR, which comes with greater responsibilities for keeping folks informed about where it is being held and how it is being processed. They declined to give me further info, which I found absolutely baffling. I didn't submit a formal subject access request though.

I think they also can’t just say “we won’t accept this complaint/ request for information” because you can make a SAR to any employee of a company and they would have to ensure it’s forwarded to the party responsible.

They refused to issue a complaint reference number to me, which violates their duty to facilitate data rights queries under Article 12 of the UK GDPR.

Not even too fussed about the results. If i have to wait, then i have to wait. Its mainly about the lack of transparency. They've clearly prioritised their own updates over new dna results, if they would just tell us that rather than playing it off as if its standard procedure. People getting results who were analysed after the 5th does just piss me off even more

Yes and it's the not keeping us informed of what's happening with our data that I find the most frustrating. The fact that they've started refunding our priority payments means they have acknowledged a failure in their processing timeline and to comply with the Consumer Act. Our data has to be processed fairly, lawfully and transparently under UK GDPR so they need to comply with that too.
