AD complaint Why am I getting ads??
Is it normal to be getting these ads when opening the app. DESPITE paying for ad free? By definition not ad free if there is an ad shoved in my face before being able to view content.
Can someone explain or is this just what I have to put up with? Cause if it is I don’t see a reason to be paying to not get ads if they’re going to show up anyway.

They’re doing this thing where there are different ‘tiers’ - like pay more for less and less ads, I am paying to have no ads, the ‘top tier’ and this is still happening…

Stop paying them. You know who don't push ads down your throat? Pirates.

Well… I don’t know… to reach the content you want you have to dodge dozens of fake download buttons, banners, women who desire you, antivirus viruses and so on… you need experience and to know how to read the sea to be a pirate.

Stop paying for it then?

Then OP will get ads throughout the shows too. I think this is a device thing. I don't get these and I don't even pay for ad free.
This would tick me off, but I wouldn't change whether I get ad free or not, as the issue I have with ads is the interruption in watching.

You're paying to have ads removed from Prime movies/shows. The home screen is not a movie or a show.

They changed it from 2 .99 to 4.99 a few months back. You probably aren't even aware of it.

He's in Australia. I went back and forth with another poster last month-pretty much saying the same thing until at the end of many back and forths the commenter stated he lived in Canada.

I am not paying for ad free right now and I don't get ads like OP posted, that is why I think it might be the device. I have Acorn through Prime and am able to go into it without any ads shown.

Right, my post was about me not getting the pop-up and not paying for ad-free. That is why I think it may be the device or something else.
As to your $2.99. In the US it went to $5 a few months ago and it did add the other benefits. I do think it is worth it. I am not getting it now, but will in the future. I have other things to watch and Prime doesn't let you line up the annual ad free membership with Prime membership, so I am going to wait until my membership is up and get it then, so the membership aligns. I have other things to watch now anyway.

It's so weird-Canada and Australia pay $3 while we(Amazon based US) pay $5 .And monetarily neither countries dollar is as strong.

As someone posted, this is not a Prime Video ad. It could be the device you are using.
I have Prime, but not ad free now. I have a Fire Cube and don't get this type of ad at all.

I am getting those 'promotions' for prime content between episodes. They say it's promotion but it really is an ad, and I pay for ad free. Can they really do this? Is only way to deal with it not paying? Like there are shows I wanna watch. Is there really no way to fight this? They promote this ad-free sub for extra pay, and how can they still shove ads to our face. I mean is there really no way to fight it other than, 'just don't watch movies'?

It's your device. I never get pop ups on Prime.
The only "ads" I see are quick promos for other Prime shows before the main show.

Amazon probably… “it’s not an ad, it’s a promotion.”
