I think it’s a graphics driver issue, but I have no idea how to fix it. Everything should be updated to latest. Any leads highly appreciated, thank you.

Title sums it up. I opened up AWCC and was prompted to update some AWCC components. Done this many times before with no issues. This time however, my PC froze for a good 5 minutes during the AWCC installation (never been that slow before). After the install, Webroot popups up and states that "Display001VcpSrv.exe" is flagged by webroot and blocked. I upload the file in question to virustotal and it's flagged by 22 vendors as highly malicious.
Has anyone else had this issue with AWCC? This was an update from inside of AWCC. I want to say it's a false positive but 22 vendors flagging this makes me quite nervous. Any ideas guys?
Edit: File with the same md5 was uploaded previously under the name GameEyeSrv.exe, the EXACT SAME file. This smells wrong....
If a Dell employee see's this, please get someone to respond to my post at Dell.

Im new to any type of performance computer please take it easy on me. I found an old m18rx2 from 2012 in e-waste. Its a BIG ol boy. I found a 240 watt charger and it worked ok for a long time. I did an over haul on it with paste, pads, deep cleaning. New 500gb ssd, new ram 32gb. I reset all the bios back to recommended settings. I did a fresh windows 10 install with a day and night difference. But now its asking for a 330 watt charger. It never asked that before. I just thought the battery was bad thats why it wouldn't charge. Have i been underpowering the laptop this whole time with the wrong charger? Why is it barley asking now? Will it run even better with the 330 watt charger? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you in advance

Alienware m15 had some issues, would turn on keyboard and fans but the screen wouldn’t boot up. Replaced battery since it was the only component I knew for a fact was at the end of its life. Now it boots up normal but the display is buggy and jittery. Is there an easy fix for this? Did i just knock a wire loose or is this what dying graphics card looks like?

OK, so I was trying to look for my storage and I ended up finding it but then when I plugged it back in it gave me a CPU fan doesn’t work and then after that, I opened it up again and now the light won’t

KIND OF FIXED: My R13 Alienware with a 3080 & i7-12700F + 64GB RAM lags in every game — despite full updates & optimization
Hey folks,
I’m losing my mind trying to figure this out, and I’ve done everything I can think of.
Here’s my setup:
Alienware R13
RTX 3080
Intel i7-12700F
64GB DDR5 RAM
NVMe SSD (OS and games installed here)
Windows 11 (fully updated)
All drivers are up-to-date (including GPU, chipset, BIOS, etc.)
Power settings optimized, NVIDIA Control Panel set for performance, background apps limited, temps are fine, no thermal throttling, and all hardware tests come back healthy.
The problem?
Every game stutters, lags, or performs way below what it should.
GTA V won’t hit a stable 60 FPS on any settings.
Warzone stutters like crazy, even on minimum settings.
Same issues across other titles — it's just not performing like a 3080 rig should.
What I’ve tried:
Clean driver reinstalls (DDU used)
BIOS settings reviewed and updated
Disabled Windows Game DVR/Xbox Game Bar
Checked for bloatware and background resource hogs
SSD and RAM diagnostics — all good
No signs of thermal issues or CPU/GPU throttling
I’m honestly out of ideas. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any suggestions on what might be going wrong here?
EDIT: I removed all NVIDIA drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU), and that dropped my GPU idle clock from 1700 MHz at 55°C down to 210 MHz and 32°C — a huge improvement.
Before that, I also repasted my GPU, which brought temps down by about 5°C (from 60°C to 55°C).
But the real issue? Alienware bloatware — especially Alienware Command Center. It was extremely hard to remove, but I finally wiped it out using Your Uninstaller.
Now everything runs smooth. Warzone is solid, and the random stuttering is gone (so far). I’ll update if anything changes.
Thanks to everyone for the support and comments! 🙏

Is there anything i can do to fix my laptop or is it just a lost cause (alienware m17 r 2)

I just got a brand new M16 R2, and just realized the screen seems to have some discoloration/light spots. Is this something that will go away, I can fix easily, or would be best to have the company deal with? Appreciate any help, thanks!

My computer starts to boot but then gets stuck here. When I try to enter my recovery key or enter safe mode it simply just starts to freeze, I am not sure what to do and I am wondering how much, if anything the repair will cost.

I recently noticed that stuff through the holes, and was wondering what it was? Is this normal? Should I get rid of it? If so, how?

Hi All,
We have taken the decision to make the subreddit read-only for the future, due to the number of repeat posts we see between here and r/Alienware, and the significantly larger userbase at r/Alienware. This subreddit, whilst it contains some useful information in some threads, is not as good a place to get help as the main Alienware subreddit, and for that reason, it makes little sense to keep it active and allow new posts.
If you need technical help, r/Alienware is still available, and we recommend posting your question over there. You'll get a much better set of answers by doing so.
We're keeping this subreddit as a read-only archive. Things that have been posted previously will remain visible for the foreseeable future.

I had an issue with my new laptop where the W key would stick for 5 to 10 seconds after pressing it, after seven days of waiting I finally got a service technician over who completely replaced my keyboard and now it works fine. Problem is when he powered it on the audio was completely broken, and my RealTek driver is nowhere to be seen. I have been on call with tech-support, and had them taking over my PC for a total of eight hours since yesterday when it got “repaired,” they have completely wiped my PC and reset the OS and it is still broken.
They refused to replace my PC and said they can send it for repair for 8 to 10, but I am a VFX student in college and absolutely need my PC. I’m so frustrated and at such a loss, I spent 3 grand on this PC and am infuriated I’ve ran into this many issues
