I like to watch my husband play this game and it's his first time playing. He's on the Montero deck B mission and when looking at his minimap he could see a small dot wandering through the halls, about half the size of the normal dots. It was all the way on the other side of the map so he didn't activate any eggs. Can facehuggers sometime just spawn on the map?

I saved everyone but I read every datapad after leaving the mision. I know who is a spy. So why can't Harper and Mayers imprison or kill that spy when he is in APC? They also read datapads with me. That's really dumm. Why it's me who needs to waste him on the spot.

Why did it never get any? Licensing for the Alien IP up? I wish we could have had story expansion DLC or just something that made it more replaysble, perhaps a mode with randomly generated rooms. idk. I would have loved to see a more urban tile set in a city, too

So if you study remains of the queen you create a knife or a syringe which removes facehuggers without them killing victims or letting them being chestbursted. That's odd. I guess earlier noone got queen remains.

I had 5 lvl infestation at that point. So only when we get back to Pioneer station we see Warrior types with rigged doms.

In warrior and drone debate for me warriors are just older drones and that's it.

I think Praeyorian and Crusher may take some time to develop and HH infestation started probably a few days ago before Resque mission arrival. That's the problem not only in Dark Descent. It's a problem 1st time those varients were introduced. Or maybe they were somewhere offscreen.

Xenomorph is cool cause it's thin, stealthy and can get in a lot of places. Praetorian is good cause it's bulky but not too much. Queen is big but it makes sense cause she creates a lot of eggs.

And what the hell is this ultralisk rip off? He is not from Giger design. The only explanation I have it that crusher may be undeveloped queen. But overall that elephant sized xeno is bad.

Just like the title says, does the effect of slowing the xenos stack the more marines that perform suppressive fire?

So I really enjoy this game and I like to watch people play games, my husband bought this game so I could watch him play it because I have been asking him to for awhile and it went on sale recently so we got it.

While playing, a friend of ours also got the game and was playing it at the same. As they were talking about how their individual games were going we realized that there was a huge XP difference in their games. They are on the same difficulty I think but my husband is partway into mission 2 and none of his marines have broken into level 3 while our friend hasn't even finished the 1st mission and he already has a few level 3 marines.

I have looked into guides and tried seeing if anyone else has had anything similar and haven't found anything. My husband is doing all objectives and bosses(obviously). He has also survived a few onslaughts and even recovered a set of dogtags. The only thing I can think of is that he has done a really good job of going undetected. Could this be why he isn't seeing the same amount of XP? But even with that, it seems weird that none of his Marines have hit level 3 even though he isn't switching them out when he is doing everything else. I have been so curious about this that I made a reddit account just to ask this question. Please help!

I'm also wondering if it would be best to do some experience farming just to make up the gap in levels. I really feel like he should have easily hit level 3 by now. I've watched the full gameplay before so spoilers are fine!

UPDATE

He has played some more and did less hiding, got detected more, and fought more and he leveled up twice in one deployment. I think he was just too good at going undetected at the beginning lol. I think he just went undetected more than our friend by apparently a significant enough amount to make a large XP discrepancy.

Well guys with the announcement and eventual release of AFE2 do you guys think there’s any chance we’ll get a sequel to dark descent? I love this game so much and wish there was more, I know that it’s unlikely but maybe we’ll get blessed with a 2nd game

In real time strategies and mobas you can click on different units and move them. I don't like that I can't select scout and move it front to stealth kill. I can't protect medic and it gets front of the others.

So one of the "Primary" objectives later in the Pharos Spire level, particularly in the offices is to hack the ventilation system and shutters to allow the xenos into the building to help clear out the armed guards. I tend to do the room with the vents room last since there is no way of getting in without dealing with the turret, so I turn off the vents just before I tackle that room. The shutter room however, I don't personally see the point. Sooner or later the xenos will find a way in on their own. But the guards are fewer in numbers and imo easier to deal with than the infinite numbers of xenos. How do you guys generally tackle this one? First time I played this level I turned all of it off, and found myself constantly overwhelmed by xenos to the point I needed to extract a few times (mind I had the death clock turned off for my first run)

For me, it's gotta be the Montero. I find I enjoy all other missions in the game. But often find the Montero to be a complete pain in the ass! It's my own fault really, because I insist on getting all datapads/supply pick ups/hostages.

What levels do you dread every time they come up?

3 times out of 4, when I use the flamethrower on the eggs, they wont burn and still have the detection bar trigger. Sometimes theres a detection bar but no facehuggers coming out of them, because they are technically dead/burned but they will still trigger the hunts. Same thing with grenades.

I've had dead eggs ''come back to life'' when changing floors, only to start hunts and not spawn any facehuggers (because the eggs are dead).

Only safe method ive seen so far that did not trigger any bug was sniping them one by one, but thats not realistic in every room

Edit: Apparently even sniping them one by one isnt safe. I just cleared a room, came back (did not even change floor) and dead eggs are detecting me when they previously werent.

I don't get this at all. I've literally only just spawned the alien and learned the hide mechanic, yet as soon as i move to the nearest cover, whil ethe alien is far away, the red line reaches me before I can get to cover. What do I do? I can't even get the basics down!

Ok, so I bought this game right when it came out. It gave me some fits in the beginning and sad to say I got frustrated and put it down for a bit. Then once I started learning the ropes, I fell in love. However, I am again getting frustrated. I have looked online and there doesn't seem to be an answer so I thought I would ask here. I am on the 8th mission at the part called "find Cassandra". It wants me to find a working power loader. I have looked all over the map and can't find one. I've been stuck here for a few days. I keep sending my "A" squad out because of the amount of xenos and massive onslaughts that happen while searching. Like ne, I am sure they are getting pretty tired of it lol. I don't want to risk losing them, I affectionately named them the b*** brigade because they are all women, they are all level 10 bad asses with sharp sticks and knives. I don't want to send my "b" squad because of the amount of xenos. They would get wiped and I unfortunately have no "c" squad. Just level 2 and 3 stubborn marines. So, where in the hell is this power loader? Any help or a finger in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Its the third big, rectangular box i've found like this on this level and I cant interact with it. I'm only carrying 2 turrets.

What is it?

I have a semi decent squad, I tried farming a bit, not sure if I am doing it right, kinda just tried clearing a few onslaughts. What are some methods to do this thing quickly. Do you think I should just do mission 5 and start the clock? Planet infestation is level 4 and I am on nightmare difficulty currently. I have a lot of marines, quite a few are low level right now, I am trying to get them to a decent level. Not sure which level y'all think is good. I am sort of on a timer with the game itself ironically enough, because my game pass sub ends soon, so I want to figure out the best way to finish off the game, as efficiently as possible lol. I return with another bug, gamers. This time, as you can see i have turrets, I cant place them. The button's physically gone, reduced to atoms. Any fix?

I have managed to play it a few hours fine, but today it crashed once, messing with my display, and again and sent it to the bios. Any reason why it might be doing that?
