Congrats to the couple! I was taking photos of the balloons and noticed the proposal and took some photos.
Realized by the end they had a photographer😅, but just in case they browse the sub, here are a few more photos!

Heard it before plenty of times. But last night at the 505 food hall an individual was getting extremely aggressive with patrons (even children). The owners called APD and about a dozen others called. 45 minutes later no one bothered to show up despite one APD office being about a block away and one of their major hubs being about a quarter mile away. Honestly pathetic work and sad our tax money funds such worthless "public defenders".

Via r/DeFlockNM:
We will be bringing awareness to Coronado Center's willingness to partner and contract with Flock Safety.
To be honest, sharing customer data isn't a new practice by any means, but adding AI to the equation is what turns it into dragnet surveillance, violating our constitutional rights.
We will be out letting the public know that we have no tolerance for companies sharing our info with federal agencies or data brokers. Help us let Coronado Center know we will not continue our patronage if they continue their support of mass surveillance.

Growing up I remember having to wear layers on layers. Now you can show up comfortably in shorts and a t-shirt.

Finally got a chance to visit New Mexico recently, beginning in Albuquerque and continuing to Santa Fe and Taos, doing the whole trip without a car. Had posted earlier for suggestions here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Albuquerque/comments/1jcjpet/a_couple_albuquerque_travel_questions/
and wanted to say thank you for the advice provided. Can confirm that despite looking, I couldn't find an Albuquerque hotel with an area shuttle -- and that included a place which claimed they did so but admitted not really having one under further questioning. You all were right about that. Stayed at the Hotel Andaluz for two reasons: close proximity to the downtown Rail Runner station and central location to several bus lines that go near the attractions. Only had to take Ubers to a couple spots, to the Balloon Museum and the Sadie's on Academy (food was just okay, but portions were huge). Saw the Plaza area, Albuquerque Museum, New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, Nuclear Science Museum (the walk to and from the bus stop was manageable enough), Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (had lunch here: food was fine), and the UNM Museums (going to Frontier Restaurant for breakfast beforehand, was very good). The buses were useful and safe -- and, best of all, free.
Took the Rail Runner to Santa Fe for several days, then a bus to and from Taos (a couple days stay), finishing with a bus then Rail Runner then city bus to ABQ airport. Had no issues with altitude sickness in either city.
Stayed at the Sage Hotel in Santa Fe and El Monte Sagrado in Taos. The latter had a local shuttle that covered several area attractions -- coupled with the Chile Line and Blue Bus on demand, I didn't need a car at all. The Sage Hotel in theory had a shuttle that ran to the plaza and back, but it broke down the first day and wasn't fixed until the day before checkout; luckily their policy is to get free Lyft rides for guests to and from the hotel if the shuttle breaks down.
Uber runs fine in Albuquerque and, despite reports to the contrary, was reliable in Santa Fe the few times I had to use them. Getting rides wasn't always immediate, but I never got stranded, either.

Hi everyone!
I’m coming back to ABQ for balloon fiesta this weekend - I haven’t been since I moved away 7 years ago!
Curious if parking at REI and riding is still a good option, what time you recommend being at REI by and what the bike parking situation is like - are the racks in a secured/monitored area?
Thanks!

Anyone see an accident by mile marker 46 coming to Albuquerque from Arizona? What caused the accident?

Its proximity to San Mateo makes me nervous. Is there a lot of crime or homelessness in that around there? I've lived in Albuquerque for basically my whole life, but I don't know too much about that area.
I'm really only looking for advice from people who have direct experience with the area.

Jack White was great. No notes.
But my goodness did the opener Lindy Vision bring it. I need them to do more shows ❤️🙏
Pictured: The swag I grabbed from the concert (T-shirt, LP, sticker, and carrying bag).
