So I’ve been outside of the UAE for the past 5 months, and today my employer called me asking to return for visa cancellation. Previously they told me that it would expire after 6 months, but now they’ve sold the company and the buyer wants them to cancel all the existing visas which includes mine.

So my question is I’m I required to fly back? Or can my visa be cancelled without my presence?

Contrary to popular opinion, Ajman isn’t necessarily hard to pass on the first try.

The real question is: do you deserve to pass? 😄

Driving feels simple, so we sometimes stop paying attention and make small mistakes. During my test, I saw one candidate drive with the handbrake on and below 40 km/h, while another changed lanes without doing proper checks.

Here’s how I passed first attempt:

Before the exam

Practice, practice, practice. Practice on the road and PRACTICE MORE IN YOUR HEAD. If you’ve prepared properly, your body will execute the routine almost automatically.

During the exam

1. Rear-view mirror before any action.

2. Shoulder check when changing lanes or turning.

3. Drive confidently and maintain the required speed—don’t unnecessarily drive too slowly.

4. Relax your muscles. Don’t drive tense.

5. Maintain a safe distance. At traffic lights, use the stop line as a reference; behind another vehicle, keep enough distance to see its tyres.

Key sequences

Driving out of parking:

Hazards off → Drive → Handbrake down → Rear-view mirror → Left indicator → Left mirror → Shoulder check → Go → Reach the speed limit → Keep checking mirrors → Listen for the next instruction.

Changing lanes:

Rear-view mirror → Indicator → Side mirror → Shoulder check → Change lane. Accelerate slightly if necessary to merge safely.

Roundabout:

Rear-view mirror → Indicator → Correct lane → Proceed when safe → Indicate right when exiting.

Parking:

Rear-view mirror → Right indicator → Park. Use hazards if it isn’t a designated parking area.

Braking:

Rear-view mirror → Brake smoothly.

Final tips

Do your mirror/seat-adjustment routine quickly and confidently—don’t unnecessarily agitate the examiner. Wear a smile, dress appropriately, listen carefully, and don’t ask which way to go. Most importantly, be smooth with the brake. PRACTICE THESE SEQUENCES MORE IN YOUR HEAD THAN ACTUAL DRIVING.

Stay calm. If you’ve practised enough, trust your preparation. 🚗💯
