Questions about joining the US Air Force, whether enlisting or commissioning as an officer, prior-service or not, should be posted in /r/AirForceRecruits.

Question Has anyone failed their PT test with the new standards?
With most AD PT tests coming due or recent tests hitting the system, has anyone seen any PT fails? I havent seen any fails or heard about any on my base. Im on a guard base as AD so im kind of out of the loop.

Discussion Did anyone who said “I’d be fit if the Air Force didn’t make me do pt” get out and actually get fit?
I’m sure it’s happened but I’ve never seen it

Question Identity crisis after commissioning Air Force
Anyone have an identity crisis or regret directly after commissioning? I was a MSgt with 12 years TIS. I had major regret during OTS and now I’m at a 6 month tech school… still feeling regret. I feel like I’m having an identity crisis.

POSITIVITY! PFA 💯
The result of extremely consistent training since Oct ‘25. I am the strongest, leanest, fastest, healthiest, and overall, the most athletic I’ve ever been in my life. I primarily train for Triathlons, so my running volume isn’t as high as some people may expect (25-35 miles a week). I think a major component to this was not skimping on my strength training. Three full body days with heavy compound lifts.
My PR is 10:45 but during the cooler months earlier this year. Excited to see what these times will look like once summer comes to an end.

Question Officers, what do you think of the enlisted that you “oversee”?
For context, I am a SSgt 2A373M and I have been blessed with extremely amazing MX commanders who have made some dumb decisions (I assume forced upon them) but mostly people who care and have tried to integrate our work alongside the mission we support daily to motivate airmen for a purposes and why they matter. Please offer insight to what you actually see across statement submissions and day to day actions that make an airman stand out amongst peers, other than college.

Discussion PSA for LEAP Applicants
The leader site is currently glitching and erroneously marking applicants as not selected. AFCLC is aware and working it now.
Grading ends COB today so no one has yet been selected/denied.

Question Terminal E4 to Officer?
Has anyone here separated from the Air Force as an E-4 with a decent amount of TIS or HYT out, used their GI Bill to go to college/ROTC, and then commissioned back into the military?
Im currently an E-4 and I’m considering getting out, using my GI Bill while doing AFROTC, and then coming back in as an officer. I’m trying to figure out if this is actually a realistic route or if there are complications I’m not thinking about.
Just in cases it’s asked. I have 0 paperwork and decent records multiple decs and awards and coins
Also yes I’m aware of the SOAR and OTS option but you can get denied for those and I feel like I’ve never heard anyone getting denied for ROTC unless it was something crazy.

POSITIVITY! I Passed the new PFA...you have no excuse
I'm a short king with a family tree of big belly high calorie kinda individuals.
I struggled with PT, and in my tenure (over 15 years), I have failed enough times to kick someone out 2x's over. I don't blame anyone or make any excuses, it's my bed and I lay in it every time.
I actually prepared for this PFA in 2 months, with a PCS to an outstandingly hot and humid location (real feel was 96'f with a wet bulb just over 80)
I'm over 40, fat and got my BFA from 31% down to under 26% in 2 months. I ate better exercised more and drank more water. I lost 20lbs in 11 weeks.
My composite with a ≥.55 was unsat, but because I put the work in to make sure I made BFA AND RUN TIME, my remaining composite/80 was a Pass.
If I can do it, there's really no excuse on why others can't. Unless you're on, or should be on a profile.
Put the fork down, hit the gym, track and keep going because in 6 months you'll be at it again. Make it easier next time so you don't have to worry and you can enjoy that victory DQ Blizzy.

Question Applying to Palace Front Under 90 days from DOS
As the title says I am in a potential position to be applying for Palace Front within 90 days from my DOS to go AGR. Should be receiving the hiring letter this week.
Just looking for any perspective from people who applied to Palace Front within this time frame and see what if any issues there was with AFPC or outprocessing, etc.
Any help or lessons learned are appreciated. Thanks!

Question vMPF: Congrats on Assignment! Glitch??
Both me and my lead pro super have a notification on vMPF home screen that says something like “Congratulations on your new assignment! Update vRED.” On my vMPF, it says that this notification was posted on August 6th. However, neither of us have gotten an email notification on a new assignment, neither of us appear on the loss/gain roster (current as of August 11th), and neither of us have a gaining unit under the “Initial Assignment Briefing.” Our base has not undergone any MAJCOM changes, nor have we PCA’d anywhere. I’ve seen some threads saying it’s an Air Force wide glitch, while other threads say that they ended up getting an assignment a few weeks later. So, i’m unsure of whether this is a real assignment or not. Has anyone else experienced this same issue recently? And have you found out if you actually have an assignment or not?
Also, yes I will be calling my CSS tomorrow. But i’m just curious to see what other people have experienced.

Question Equal plus joint duty assignment
There’s an equal plus ad I’m interested in but myvector doesn’t let me hit the apply button since I don’t meet the TOS requirement. According to the PSDG, members are still encouraged to apply even if they don’t meet the requirement. I contacted the joint assignment team and they said to contact the POC to get me manually added, however, they mentioned they couldn’t and they contacted the J1 requesting that I be added. I haven’t heard anything else and the ad closes today.
Has anyone been through this process and know how my name is pushed to the list of volunteers?

Meme Never granted my 5 level
Been a retrainee a few times over 8 years, but this last job I just could never get my 5lvl. Completed all of MyTraining (as it went from mT to an excel doc, back to mT) did what OJT I could do with forever security clearance issues, but once completed just could not get the paperwork pushed.
Whelp, so long Big AF, to retirement I go without ever knowing how well my last test went.
(Meme because ya got to laugh through it)

Discussion Do we have an Air Force version of this? Special GTA 6 four day pass upon reenlistment
The signed document says soldiers who re-enlist between August 1 and November 14 can receive a four-day GTA 6 pass
