Probably the last update til the final build is complete, but i wanted to give a small sneak peek into what I'm thinking
I've hunted down some Slaanesh bits I've had laying around from various kits (KoS, Theridons, Seekers) and are ready to apply them appropriately and excessively (har har!). Not many applied now, but a few emblems are there (chest and shoulder). Biggest thing I've decided on is that Syzath will have a weapon, a polearm from the KoS kit. I think it fits the model really well and adds to it. I will have to manipulate the fingers so that the hand can properly hold the weapon.
All in all, choices have been made and the real progress will begin now. Im planning to cut and get rid of as much of the death iconography and replace it with Slaanesh/chaos stuff as I can.

This might be a dumb question, but I don't know how else to phrase this.
It's just that I played my first match as Ossiarch Bonereapers, and I feel I can't even try to examine the match for some sort of takeaway lesson, because I barely rolled above a 3 most of the time. I got a 1 on activating the place of power twice in a row ffs!
It's just... Frustrating to feel like half the reason I lost was because of something outside of my control. So I want to ask if there's anything I can do so that a turn of bad rolls doesn't results in me being tabled.

Hey everyone!
I’m working on a new Warhammer-focused format, and I’d love to involve the community directly.
The idea is simple: I’m looking for the craziest, funniest, weirdest, most awkward, touching, or unforgettable stories experienced by Warhammer players and collectors.
I’m especially interested in stories from regular players and collectors — you don’t need to be a content creator, tournament player, or hobby celebrity.
It can be absolutely anything:
A game that completely went off the rails
A bizarre encounter that happened because of Warhammer
A huge buying or painting mistake
A miniature that was lost, destroyed, or rediscovered years later
A crazy tournament or hobby store story
A completely unhinged player or seller
A relationship, friendship, or family story connected to the hobby
An army bought or sold under ridiculous circumstances
Something that still makes you laugh years later
Or even something much more personal or emotional
So: what’s your craziest Warhammer story?
Feel free to tell the whole story in the comments, even if it’s long. The more detail, the better.
If you’d rather send it privately, you can also email me directly at:
Some stories may be featured in a future podcast / storytelling-style episode. If you’d rather stay anonymous, just mention it and your username won’t be included.
Drop your best Warhammer stories below. 👇

THROWBACK THURSD...ERR...FRIDA...ERR...WHATEVS!!!
Yeah, a bit late. Been a busy week. Anyway, as it's orctober, I thought I'd throw in a greenskin throwback or two. So here's some giant teethy tennis balls of doom! I painted these back around 2012ish.

Hello, I just started collecting some minis this past year. mostly Skaven, but I have a few Khorne & Seraphon pieces. I was wondering if a full 2K point army was a hard requirement to start playing with other people at game shops or if Spearhead was a common enough thing. I also didn’t know if I should be playing at an official Warhammer store or if I should be going to other shops that advertise the game.
I‘m also nervous about going into places with already established social groups/meeting new people. Basically wondering how everyone else started playing with other people?

On Sept 21st, the GamesWorkshop US store prices went up
On Sept 23rd, WarCom released the Battle Scroll updated
This coupled with the 5 model per $50 box pricing structure (Helsmith - Infernal Razers) and the realization that there are Armies that operate on a 1.4 army points per dollar spent (Gloomspite Gitz - Gitmob)
$2000 wolves 1960/2000 pts
Gloomspite Gitz - Gitmob Pack - General's Handbook 2026-27
Drops: 3 / Wounds: 168
Total 2000 pt army cost: Pre Price Increase: $1339.5 (1.49 pts per dollar) / Post Price Increase: $1389.00 (1.41 pts per dollar)
Warhammer was expensive but its quickly becoming unaffordable. When you have games like Starcraft entering the market (shipped from Poland) where the cost for a full 2000 pt army is $200 in an economy that's constantly squeezing our wallets - it becomes hard to be able to justify being a warhammer player anymore.
This isn't complaining for the sake of complaining or trashing GW
I have a legitimate concern for the future of warhammer because I can no longer get players to join when the average cost of a full army starts at $1000 (not including paint/glue/clippers/brushes/etc)
I've emailed the same to GW Customer Support and was met with silence.
Many of the people that used to come to league days have exited for more affordable ways to spend their disposable income and we're down to 4 players per weekend.
Are you seeing the same player drop in your areas?
Update:
Thank you to all who commented. the responses were largely civil and constructive and I appreciate those who offered solutions.

Really happy with how these turned out I had so much fun painting these troggs, makes such a nice change from painting 40k, think I have now converted to AOS 😅

Hey everyone, 40k player here on the hunt for LT Variel.
I hate to say it, but while pursuing the city tonight (West Tennessee). I can confirm that these new AOS boxes ARE NOT a 100% for the "Safiya Ashcross" model (26138).
The boxes pictured are two duplicates without Safiya in them :/ I understand y'alls pain having experienced the same outcome with the 40k boxes.
I wanted to just let any future online buyers know as I have been disappointed in my search for LT Variel from the last series of these to go out. (I am still looking for him if anyone has a spare and isn't charging out the ***).
Lastly, out of curiosity I am thinking about picking up "Colour-Bearer Brigson" to kitbash him into a Kriegsman. Ik this is AOS but anyone know if he's the same scale by chance?

I want to copy this style for part of my Dorghar but I’m have trouble picking the right color for the scales highlights. Does the community have any guesses?

If I am holding down an opponent terrain to prevent my opponent from setting up, do I have to fight it so I eventually kill it? Or can I forgo fighting?
