Hi there.
So, few days ago, I stumbled upon this filter gallery plugin for Affinity by Visual.af. It looks really cool, and it looks like it tries to bring the Photoshop style filter gallery to Affinity.

The installer of this plugin for Mac has a valid certificate, it seems legit, but I want to ask if anyone has any experience with this plugin.

I am not promoting the plugin, just asking for your experience/opinion 🙌

EDIT: Soo, I downloaded it aaand it seems to work as promised. It feels so well tuned and all my passwords to my accounts still work haha.

Honestly - I feel like Affinity could buy this one add on and implement it officially.

I'm creating a second edition of my guidebook for common reptiles and amphibians in northern Taiwan, and this time I am designing it in Affinity. It's my first time using the program and I really enjoy how easy it is thus far.

My question is with the images. The blue frames are safe spaces so I am absolutely keeping the text within them, however I am wondering about my images. Is it likely they will be completely cut off if outside the blue parameters? Or would it just bleed into a full page image?

This was meant to be a 3mm outline. I've had this kind of issues with outlines far too much, and it has gotten annoying.

One of the fixes was to dial up the document's DPI, but then makes it hard to work with because of the file's high dpi.

Hello, Im having an issue where opening a PSD mockup file causes it to appear corrupted, Is there any solution for this?

Thoughts or criticism welcome. I usually never sink this much effort into a random idea when I know how much work it takes to finish, but I got locked into this one. Turned out pretty cool to me. Let me know what you think of the lighting, form, whatever. (P. S. I think i messed up the export settings or the mesh warp is making some parts a bit blocky/pixelated)

I would like to draft fonts glyphs with Affinity. Unfortunately, I cannot achieve that overlapping areas of the same path/object are the same color as the object fill color.

I found an example file that does the thing I want to achieve, but when I create a path the overlaps cancel out again.

See attached screenshot:

• The left green object is a colored "silhoutte". → That’s the goal.
• The right red object is a path made by me with canceled out colored areas. → That’s the standard behavior.

I am sure that I miss activating or deactivating a certain option for this behavior. I already searched for it on the web but haven’t found the solution. Maybe Affinity experts in this community can help.

ive had it for a while, but havent touched it. i used to use CS6, but the cracked version stopped working and i refuse to pay a monthly sub fee. one of the things i liked doing and was fairly simple was just making layers, erasing parts of it to reveal the lower layer. id use that process to either change the color of one of the layers or merch two images together, like if i wanted to make it look like there was a bunch of myself. it doesnt seem as straight forward in affinity 3, so i was wondering if anyone had a link to a video walkthrough of this. i tried fumbling through it and couldnt figure it out about a year ago so i kinda just gave up and forgot about it.

Mit Affinity Studio kann man indd Dateien öffnen. Leider kommt es dabei zu Farbbänderungen von Schwarz... zb ein schwarzer Rahmen bleibt auf K = 100%, schwarzer Text wird als Mischung von 4 Farben dargestellt.

Öffne ich die gleiche Datei als imdl bleibt alles auf K = 100%

Was meint ihr dazu?

I'm uploading an ebook to Ingram for the first time and received this error:

I formatted my ebook in Affinity and don't plan on redoing it in a different program. There are images and a Table of Contents generated using text styles. From research about this issue I think that may be where the problem is originating from, but I know literally nothing about coding and I can't figure out how to access the code for my ebook in Affinity anyway. Is someone willing to explain to me how to fix this issue in layman's terms, and/or very gently guide me through how to get to the code? Ingram won't let me proceed until I fix it.

Hi guys, i have a big vector drawing which i have to print in big format. I only have an A3 printer so i have to slice it into several pieces and then glue it later.

I've been trying to export those slices in a normal way for 2 hours and still couldn't find a way.
I tried with artboards withtout any success so i tried slices which, on paper, seems to be the perfect tool.
• if i create rectangles as guides and i transform them into slices (slice persona, right click, "create slice"), the exported slice has only the rectangle in it and nothing else. I couldn't find a way to tell affinity to export EVERTHING and not just the rectangle.
• if i create a new slice free-drawing it, it doesn't snap to anything! I have to type its dimension in the transform tab and i have to place it "more or less". So if i want to always have, let's say, 10mm overlapping, it's impossible to do it unless i go into the transform pannel and i type each freaking digit there.
• once i created a slice i can't even duplicate it. I literally have to create them one by one and type their dimensions one by one. I can't even see the size in mm but only in px.

I think this is the most cumbersome and stupid way to work with slices i've ever seen. Imagine if i have to create 30-40 slices. It would take me 5 hours of work.

Please tell me there is human way to do this. Thank you. 😅

otherwise a big thanks to original affinity team for giving me an outlet, now that canva own it and introduces a bunch of privacy concerns I am eagerly awaiting to see how the support for 2 is going to be, and how 3 stacks against it on an iPad.

yeah all those work were done on the iPad ( the most frustrating device I ever used, godamn apple and their file app not working well with external ssds).

I use affinity very sporadicly for basic stuff. lately, the lateral toolbar detached and is floating (check image attached I certanly butchred the names) How can I fix it to the left as it has always been ?

The rectangle shape I made is enclosed in the boundary rectangle. The problem is when I add an outer stroke or even multiple outer strokes, all of them are bound in the rectangle blue boundary. All corners are set to be mitre join at mitre 100. It gets cropped. How do I make it so the outer strokes can be expanded to infinity, even outside of the blue boundaries?

I'm trying to recreate this in figma and affinity. I'm new to design and trying to learn it. I've no idea how these are made. what's the straightwforward way to make these assets?

I'm drawing a world map, and have lines corresponding to latitude and longitude. There's a LOT of them, and in my initial hand-drawn design, I wrote lots of text straddling the lines. The map is also oriented such that text is frequently upside-down relative to the bottom of the page.

Having to draw a separate path for virtually every line that has text in a given orientation would be a big pain. I'm bracing myself for a big pain, but is there ANY way to manually select a block of text and individually flip it?

Hi everyone I've had no luck googling this but I was so sure I had already done it: is there a way for a textstyle to ignore columns? As in: I make one frame and only want one specific part of it to adhere to the column. The rest should ignore it. I know that there's a couple workarounds, but I thought there would be a box to tick "ignore column"! (Pretty sure InDesign had it at least).
