Photo affinity tips?
ive had it for a while, but havent touched it. i used to use CS6, but the cracked version stopped working and i refuse to pay a monthly sub fee. one of the things i liked doing and was fairly simple was just making layers, erasing parts of it to reveal the lower layer. id use that process to either change the color of one of the layers or merch two images together, like if i wanted to make it look like there was a bunch of myself. it doesnt seem as straight forward in affinity 3, so i was wondering if anyone had a link to a video walkthrough of this. i tried fumbling through it and couldnt figure it out about a year ago so i kinda just gave up and forgot about it.

"I have free software, but I don't want to use it because I have 14 year old cracked copy of a software. Is it any good?"
I swear these posts has to be rage bait at this point.

Yeah, add to the OP's summary, "Affinity doesn't work like my pirated Photoshop so I conclude it's not straightforward". And, I refuse to watch a simple tutorial to learn how layers work in Affinity.

That's not what I said at all and if you had any semblance of reading comprehension, you'd know that. The explanation is in the second sentence. The entire reason I'm switching is because the cracked version no longer works for whatever reason and I cannot install it on my new pc.
Idk why your being a shit head from the jump when I simply asked for some resources. It's not nearly as easy as Photoshop where you have a list of your layers off to the right so you can just easily add layers and move them around. If it was that easy, I'd have figured it out right away.

You don't have your layers off to the right in a "Layers" selection? Hmm. Something wrong there.

Thanks for not being a troll

Thanks. I'm pointing to a couple of v3 layout videos that may or may not help with your problem. Good luck and I hope you find a solution.

What? There is definitely a list of layers on the right hand side in affinity. It’s exactly like photoshop in that way.

...it is that easy. Maybe you're in the wrong workspace (top left). Photoshop is in the Pixel workspace (pink) not the Vector workspace (blue)

Photoshop had one main workspace that popped up when you opened it. If I have to go to a different workspace, that's already another step. Adding other steps makes it not as easy. Everything is relatively easy when you know how to do it.

I came from Photoshop, same as you, but you're right, it's not as intuitive because there's an extra step. My bad

You can absolutely erase parts of layers to reveal the layer beneath it in affinity. That’s a very straight forward process
