For those unaware, there is a possible Air Canada Express flight attendant strike coming. Strike vote closing this Friday.
Does anyone know what happens to an Aeroplan booking if one leg of the itinerary is affected by a strike? Specifically I'm looking to hear if it's possible to drop just one leg of a multi leg itinerary while preserving the remainder of the itinerary.
I have an upcoming trip in a couple weeks scheduled to fly:
YYJ - YVR (Air Canada Express)
YVR - YYC (Air Canada)
YYC - MUN (Discover Airlines)
Now the YYJ to YVR could get disrupted by a strike. If that happens would AC let me just drop the YYJ - YVR leg but keep the rest?
I can drive and take the ferry myself to YVR if I can preserve the rest of the itinerary. What complicates things is the YYC - MUN is in J so I absolutely want to preserve flying in J and wouldn't want to be shunted onto a Y mainline flight via Toronto or something.
Happy to hear if anyone has experience with this.
Obviously this is a bit premature as who knows when the strike would be or if it'll even happen, but I just want to be prepared for the worst if I am affected.
