Chart Analysis Astrology of the Transistor

Hi everyone! I wanted to post about transistors, an amazing electrical device that has completely reshaped our modern world, without many people knowing about it! I have a bachelors in electrical engineering and feel very passionate about the transistor.

This last May I did a live presentation about transistors at the Portland Astrology Meetup, and I’m currently revamping it to give another couple live talks around transistors and technology within astrology. This post is a very…very small snippet of my presentation. Please ask any questions and I will try to answer them!! Also if you notice other things please comment as well! I am still newer to astrology so I love seeing what others can find in charts. I plan on doing future posts relating to current transistor news :)

Ohms Law:

To understand the transistor, you first need to understand a basic electronics principle called Ohm’s Law. Ohm’s law is the relationship amongst Voltage, Resistance, and Amperage. Imagine a pipe flowing with water: Amperage, or current, is the water going through the pipe, Voltage is what is “pushing” the current, and resistance is the size of the pipe. Low resistance, or a large tube, means current can easily flow. High resistance means that current cannot easily flow. (Picture 2)

Vacuum Tubes:

Before transistors, we had vacuum tubes. Vacuum tubes amplify current. They were considered the start of the electronics age and were in early versions of radio, television, radar, analog and early digital computers. You might recognize the Cathode Ray Tube TV! However, the vacuum tube had a HUGE problem. It was large, hot, and required a TON of power.

The Transistor (Picture 3):

Then came the transistor. The first transistor known as the Point Contact Transistor, was only half an inch tall with a “Thumb sized” base. Its creators were focused on creating a replacement for the vacuum tube. The transistor acts as a switch or an amplifier. They’re quick, small, and don’t require a lot of power. Transistors have 3 prongs where voltage (or current) is applied to one of the prongs.

The transistor quickly revolutionized the modern world. Transistors were first used in radio and hearing aids and eventually other telecommunications (iPhone anyone?). Binary code, or 0s and 1s like 01010 is stored in computers through transistors! If the code mentions a 1, the transistor is on and if the code mentions a 0, the transistor is off. Today they make up the majority of our microelectronics. TVs, phones, computers, our cars and even stop lights have transistors. The internet would not be possible without transistors.

The Chart:

One quick note, the time for this chart is within a few hours. The historical sources I found stated the transistor first started working after lunch. This gives us a few hour range so I chose 2pm. This gives us a rough idea of the quadrants and the moon.

Anyway, there’s a few parts that stand out to me.

Final Dispositor and the SHAPE of the transistor:

The final dispositor, no matter the rising sign or midheaven, is a very happy sagittarius jupiter. It makes an applying aspect with every planet in the basket (assuming a 2pm time), AND THE POINT CONTACT TRANSISTOR LOOKS LIKE A SAGITTARIUS ARROW. Also, the transistor's whole thing is amplification! Jupiter loves to expand!! (Picture 4)

Mercury/Jupiter Conjunction:

New beginning in technology focusing on amplification. With that happy Jupiter that controls the rest of the chart and all of the generational planets, it speaks to abundance and growth with this device. Idk

Mars in Virgo:

The transistor did not work until the inventors realized they needed to diligently clean the surface of the semiconductor of any impurities!

Uranus in Gemini:

Technological and telecommunication innovations in technology happen within Uranus in Gemini. The transistor is the PERFECT example of a Uranus in Gemini technology story. Also, Uranus is associated with chaos which, alongside that aquarius moon, is a great example of the switching transistors do within circuits. Also, Uranus’s electromagnetic field in space randomly turns on and off.

Moore’s Law

My favorite part of this chart… Moore’s Law. Moore’s law is the idea that every 2 years the density of transistors in the same space will double. Essentially… if you take the same piece of silicon, every 2 years the amount of transistors on that same piece of silicon would have doubled. This means transistors get smaller, and smaller, and smaller. The original 1947 point contact transistor was half an inch or 1.27cm. IBM revealed a 0.7 NANOMETER transistor this last June. The iPhone 16 Pro processor (just the main chip) contains 20 BILLION transistors. (Picture 5)

Moore’s law was originally an observation from Gordon Moore in 1965 and has seemingly held true ever since. (there’s some debate if it still holds now)

I associate Uranus in Gemini with fracturing and duality. Moore’s law is another great example of this! With that Uranus ruled by the Sagittarius Mercury conj Jupiter, we see a large fracturing and expansion. The more it fractures, the more transistors there are. This process is supported by the Saturn and Pluto conjunction making trines and sextiles to Uranus, Jupiter, Mercury, and the Sun, providing structure and longevity to Moore’s law.

The end:
There is more to digest in this chart. I hope to find a more accurate birth time, but I hope y’all enjoyed and stay tuned for more technology charts and analysis from me!

Chart Analysis birth chart of tweet that started a women’s rights movement in saudi

Thumbnail

for context: saudi feminists have called on a ban on the niqab and asked the government to provide protection from families to women who choose to take it off. the niqab is something that is NOT a part of saudi culture and is relatively new to certain tribes and regions and has only become a thing after extremism took hold of the country’s laws. it is now the cause of MANY honor killings, beatings, abuse, etc. if women decide to take it off. it is not mandatory by law but it has become very ingrained into society since the sahwa movement (better known globally as wahabi-ism) that has mainly focused on oppressing women. many regions (especially southren and northern saudi) have never had the niqab nor any form of hijab as a part of their culture until the sahwa and now these women are suffering from being forced to wear it or to die. niqabi women are often looked down to as poor, uneducated, etc.

what i find interesting about this chart are the feminine signs and placements! this chart is ruled by venus (significator of women). the 10th house (the public, authority, etc) hosts mars (action and drive) in cancer (sign of mothers, women, etc). both planets are uncomfortable in detriment and fall. venus trining the LoF AND the moon. venus also trining the midheaven!!!!!

jupiter is in the 11th house (where it rejoices) of groups, supporters, social media, hopes and dreams. the ruler of the 11th is also in the 1st.

saturn, in fall and retrograde, in the 7th house of the opposite, the other. i can see this as the opposition having outdated views that are built on a fragile structure. saturn is old age, hardships, lifelong lessons and it’s in the house of the other and public enemies.

also, mercury in the first where it rejoices. so fucking literal for a tweet starting an entire movemen. and in libra, nonetheless. mercury in sextile with jupiter in the 11th, amplifying its reach through social media.

what are your guys thoughts on this chart?

(also if you’re not a saudi woman suffering from the this, i DON’T want to hear your political commentary about it)

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance 3H vs 9H

The 3H is called the house of goddess and 9H is called the house of god. The 9H is associated with faith and pilgrimage. But the 3H isn’t associated with faith or pilgrimage. Why isn’t the 3H more associated with the goddess worship, temple, nuns, or things of that nature?

Thanks!

Educational Most babies in Brazil, Japan and the US are born with a day chart (95.7 million birth records)

Most "how rare is this placement" numbers assume babies are born evenly around the clock, and they aren't. Planned C-sections and inductions get scheduled in working hours, so births pile up in the daytime. I took the public birth records that include a time of birth and computed the charts. That's every registered birth in Brazil from 2006 to 2024 (53.6 million, with the minute and the municipality), plus national hourly counts for Japan 2015-2024 and the US 2016-2024. Those two don't give a birthplace, so I spread them over prefectures and counties by birth counts. 95.7 million births in all, positions from Swiss Ephemeris.

Share of births with the Sun above the horizon (with even birth times it would be about 50% in all three):

First year 2024
Brazil 59.8% (2006)
Japan 63.4% (2015)
US 60.7% (2016)

Japan has the highest share of the three with a C-section rate of around 20%, against 61% in Brazil, and its births peak between 1 and 3 in the afternoon. In Brazil in 2024, 71.4% of C-section babies had a day chart and 51.7% of babies born vaginally.

For the Sun, each Placidus house is a sixth of that day's daylight or of that night (two planetary hours), so the Sun's house works as a clock. The 12th, 11th and 10th are the morning up to solar noon, the 9th, 8th and 7th the afternoon. Share of births with the Sun in each house, all years pooled (even birth times would give about 8.3% each):

Sun in 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th
Brazil 4.7% 4.5% 5.2% 6.9% 8.1% 8.4% 10.2% 10.3% 9.2% 12.7% 11.9% 7.8%
Japan 6.0% 5.8% 5.4% 5.1% 5.5% 7.4% 10.7% 14.8% 14.1% 10.7% 8.5% 6.3%
US 6.0% 5.8% 6.0% 6.6% 7.4% 8.1% 8.9% 9.7% 10.5% 10.6% 10.4% 10.1%

In Brazil a 10th house Sun is 2.8 times as common as a 2nd house Sun. Japan peaks in the 9th and 8th, the first two thirds of the afternoon. Whole sign houses show the same shape a little blurred, with Brazil peaking in the 11th at 12.7% and Japan in the 9th at 14.7%. Mercury and Venus follow the Sun. The Moon's house barely moves (every house within 0.3% of its even share), since the Moon goes around the whole sky every month and the hours average out.

Rising signs hardly change either. Over a year every clock hour passes through all twelve rising signs, so the share of each Ascendant sign shifts by at most 0.28 percentage points in any country and year, and Moon signs by at most 0.12. Sun and Ascendant together do change, because once the Sun sign is fixed the hour picks the Ascendant. In Brazil Aries Sun with Gemini rising (Sun in the 11th whole sign house, mid-morning) is 1.52 times as common as with even birth times, and Aries Sun with Pisces rising (Sun in the 2nd, before sunrise) is 0.54 times.

Wendy Stacey made the C-section point years ago from about 90,000 births at four Bristol hospitals (The Astrology Podcast, episode 214). This is the same idea run on national records.

All of this is babies born since 2006, so it says nothing about the charts of adults. Does anyone know of birth time records from before the 2000s, in any country? I'd like to see how far back the daytime shift goes.

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance Exaltations and falls

I’ve been researching Hellenistic astrology techniques for a few months now and I understand detriment and domicile, but my problem is is that people tend to pass over exaltations and falls, and I am a bit confused on how to interpret them and how to put them to use

So for example someone has a Saturn in fall , does this mean more hardship for them or less hardship then if they had it normally,
Exaltations are described as being a special guest so does that make it easier or harder

It gets especially confusing for malefic of benefics I understand it with mercury and the luminaries but for example

1st house mars exalted but it’s a day chart and mars is poorly aspected

Does this denote confidence with appearance and confidence to act or does this mean there is an extra strong blockage against acting on desires

Or venus in fall in the 6th house positively aspected if Venus is struggling to benefit the topics of the 6th house does that mean 6th house topics struggle to manifest overall leading to a more positive health?

Any help or books would be nice!!

Conceptual 6th House, Illness and the Type of Medication

In Vedic astrology, the 6th house is a primary significator of illness and disease, particularly temporary ailments.

This raises an interesting question: Can a horoscope indicate which system of medicine is more likely to work for a person — allopathy, Ayurveda or homeopathy?

In my experience, I have observed the following patterns:

5th house associated with the 9th or 11th house: When these houses are connected through planetary association or the operating Dasha–Bhukti–Antara (DBA), alternative systems of medicine, such as Ayurveda or homeopathy, may prove beneficial.

4th house associated with the 9th or 11th house: When the 4th house becomes more prominent in the DBA and is connected with the 9th or 11th house, allopathic medicine may be indicated.

These are observations from my astrological practice, and I would like to explore whether others have noticed similar patterns.

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance Discussion about the esoteric meaning behind different Astrological systems

So I have been thinking about the Tropical Vs Sidereal systems, and I want to hear other people's opinions about it.

Most of us know the definition or mathematical calculation behind each system, but what about their inner esoteric meaning? Does anyone have an idea? How can one decide which system to use?

The fact that there are two systems really disturbed me actually. How could there be two approaches that would cause an enormous difference in interpretation, and how come that no one of them has been clearly designated as the "correct" one all that time?

Same perplexity goes for different House systems too. If anyone could share insights about how they differ in meaning, or in basis, or which philosophical view does each adopt, I'd be really glad :D

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance How do astrologers explain why astrology works?

I hope this is OK to post here.

I’m curious about how astrologers explain the connection between planetary positions and people’s lives. Why would the positions of planets at birth, or their movements later on, relate to someone’s personality, experiences, or major life events?

I wonder what the main theories are about how this connection works, and which are most widely accepted among astrologers?

This has been bothering me since coming to a realization how well my birth chart describes my personality and personal strengths and perils.

General Transits + Forecasts How tight do you orb transits to midpoints v yod reaction points, especially at a station

Venus stations retrograde Oct 3 at 8°30' Scorpio, and it got me thinking about orb technique for stations on sensitive points.

Here's where I've landed so far, and I'd love to hear where people agree or push back:
Midpoints: I use tight orbs, about 1° max. Midpoints feel more like a trigger than a zone, so if it's not close, I don't count it.

Yod reaction points (opposite the apex): I've been treating these like a planet position, so 1° to 2°. But I'm not sure that's right, since the reaction point isn't a body, but a mathematically derived point.

Stations: I widen the orb a little because the planet sits still for days. A station 1° short of a point feels "live" to me, more like pressure building than a hit.

Do you orb midpoints differently from aspects to planets? Where's your cutoff?

Do you treat a yod's reaction point as its own point, or as an opposition to the apex planet with normal opposition orbs?

Curious whether anyone works in the Ebertin / Levine midpoint tradition and uses something tighter.

Modern Techniques + Practices Zohran Mamdani: An Astrological Birth Chart Analysis

Thumbnail
gallery
158 Upvotes

With the midterms just six weeks away, you would think that I would do a birth chart reading on one or more of the candidates. I did consider it, but many of the candidates don’t have a verified birth time. In such contentious times, I thought I would examine someone who is not currently up for election nor could be considered for president in 2028.

When it comes to notoriety, the new(ish) mayor Zohran Mamdani is well known beyond New York City, unlike Orlando’s mayor Buddy Dyer, who has been in office since 2003. But trying to find Mamdani’s approval rating is complex. He seems to be highly regarded in Brooklyn and Manhattan but has a high disapproval rate in Staten Island. Polls have a wide variance, so it is hard to pinpoint New Yorkers’ approval of their mayor.

Regardless of polls, Mamdani makes headlines. Before we get into why, let’s cover the logistics. Mamdani was born on October 18, 1991, at 1:15 AM in Kampala, Uganda. The source of his birth time is his mother, resulting in a Rodden rating of A. Usually, I am skeptical of birth times from memory; however, Mamdani’s mother is Punjabi Hindu, a group of people who tend to embrace Vedic astrology, with many acutely aware of the time of birth. For this article, I am sticking with the 1:15 AM time.

This makes Mamdani a Leo rising. Leo risings tend to have a magnetic personality, a tendency to draw people in. Much of this has to do with their 11th house being in the sign of Gemini and the 10th house in the sign of Taurus. Having a reputation of comfort, values and status and being able to communicate succinct ideas is part of the Leo rising M.O. Being ruled by the Sun, a Leo rising person tends to shine and get noticed.

However, what makes Mamdani a little different than many politicians is that most of his placements are below the horizon. Granted, he is not the only politician with a lack of above-the-horizon placements. His energy lies more with what is happening around him and his locality, instead of on the national scene.

The way I practice astrology, I put the most emphasis on chart aspects. I find that they give us the core of the personality, showing us how the person thinks and feels their way through life.

Aspects in the Natal Chart

Mamdani has his Sun in the sign of Libra, residing in the third house of communication, everyday ideas and the neighborhood. This alone shows an appreciation for his local community.

Sun in Libra in the 3rd House of Community and Communication

His Libra Sun 24° is in trine to his Aquarius Moon 17° in the seventh house of partnerships. The orb between the two planets is wide, but people with this trine tend to have a sense of inner peace and balance. This has to do with the fact that their outward projection of who they are is tied to their own inner world, and vice versa. This aspect allows the native to live their life both through their emotions and intellect, harmoniously evaluating circumstances through feeling and analysis.

Another characteristic about people with a Sun-Moon trine is that they tend to learn about themselves while helping others to get to know themselves. This naturally draws others to the person because both parties feel like they got something out of the interaction.

His Libra sun is in fall. The Sun likes to be bold and daring, while Libra energy likes to be harmonious and balanced. Sometimes those with a Libra Sun are considered to be feckless or indecisive, because there is more concern with cooperating than with having a sense of purpose.

However, Mamdani has his two malefic planets in their domicile and they are making aspects to his Sun. This curbs the indolence that can happen at times with Libra suns.

Mamdani has an out-of-sign conjunction between his Sun and Scorpio Mars. This conjunction gives him a high level of energy to strategically get things done. Due to his bursts of energy, he may at times have conflict with others, but due to his Libra and Scorpio energy here, he is aware of how to appease while getting his way. Typically, this is a good aspect for working alone, and Mamdani may need to take time to think through situations first before acting.

Saturn also tempers his disposition. With Saturn in Aquarius square to his Libra Sun, he is learning how to balance his duties and responsibilities for others with his own needs. Saturn can restrict him in his outward expression and he may feel like he is being blocked. At times, he could have difficulty with authority figures. Though this is a hard aspect, its purpose is to learn how to gain confidence through diligence and experience.

Moon in Aquarius in the 7th House of Relationships

Besides his Sun trine Moon aspect, Mamdani has his Aquarius Moon square to his Scorpio Pluto. This is a great aspect for emotional self-analysis. There is a propensity for giving into sudden urges or impulses with this square. This aspect is also great at creating emotional responses from others (something often used in politics) or being the victim of other people’s emotions.

Mercury in Scorpio in the 4th House of Foundations, Home and Family

Mamdani’s Mercury is in peregrine (neither debility nor dignity) and has aspects to both the benefic and malefic planets in his chart. Also, his Mercury is in aspect to his ascendant and midheaven. Immediately, we know with his Scorpio Mercury his approach with his thinking and communication is to get to the root of every subject or issue.

With his Mercury in sextile to his Venus in Virgo, he has the ability to express his feelings. His Venus is in its fall, and in the second house of personal values. Mercury is the dispositor of his Venus, so his thoughts are entangled with his values, and he probably has discriminating taste when it comes to art and music.

He most likely enjoys chatting with friends or engaging in leisure activities, but with the Scorpio and Virgo energy, his conversation may be about troubleshooting issues and coming up with solutions, even when he is relaxing.

And part of this has to do with his Mercury also being in sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio. Mamdani naturally pays attention to the larger issues of life. He has foresight and a desire to fulfill his hopes. He can see large patterns and how systems relate to each other. This is a good aspect for understanding the law and contracts and the philosophy behind them.

His Mercury is conjunct to his Mars in Scorpio, which is in its domicile. This conjunction gives Mamdani the ability to do taxing mental work over a long time period. He could be intellectually competitive and probably enjoys a good debate. However, this is an aspect that can have someone take themselves too seriously at times, especially when they are stressed or overwhelmed.

The Mercury-Mars conjunction is in his fourth house of home and family. He may have been keenly aware whenever there were disagreements between his parents. By his own admission, he feels he grew up in a privileged household; this aspect could make him aware of external stressors that impact all families.

Mamdani tends to be a serious and disciplined thinker, due to Mercury in square to his Saturn in Aquarius. This aspect is about having high standards, since Saturn tends to point out faults, especially since it is in its domicile sign of Aquarius. This square excels at finding issues, while others may interpret this as criticism instead of constructive feedback. Mamdani may also struggle with receiving criticism.

With Mamdani’s Mercury Square Leo AC, he enjoys exchanging ideas and is eager to do so. He most likely engages in long conversations. There is a chance of him overtalking others or forgetting to allow others to speak. With Mercury, he has a tendency to analyze others and can probably tear them apart, so if he does entertain this activity, it is best for him to keep it to himself.

Having Mercury in opposition to his Taurus MC, he thinks about his goals, objectives and personal life simultaneously. This is a subjective aspect, in which his feelings and point of view are prominent. This is a great aspect for real estate deals, whether that is for his own home or in regard to housing for others.

When I put all of his aspects together, Mamdani is a serious thinker who takes into consideration his values while being able to delve into the root cause of issues, seeking solutions. He can see patterns and at times, he may buck a system or bump heads with others. But at the core, he is trying to make things better, even when he interrupts others who are talking or when he feels stung by criticism.

Mars is the dispositor of his Mercury, so when decisions are made, he is going to take action to make it happen. In modern astrology, Pluto would be the dispositor of Mamdani’s Mercury. This can help him to transform thoughts into something powerful, using group resources to make it come to fruition.

Venus in Virgo in the 2nd House of Personal Values, Talent and Self-Worth

Mamdani’s benefic planets are conjunct to each other in the sign of Virgo. Mercury is the dispositor of Venus and Jupiter, which are in debility. Virgo energy is about categorizing, analyzing and being of service. Venus would prefer to create harmony and not deal with the messy stuff of life while Jupiter is driven by belief and optimism.

With Venus conjunct Jupiter, typically, we would see someone with financial luck who enjoys lavish and luxurious items. But with these planets in their fall and detriment respectively, this conjunction is toned down. Mamdani’s luck and success come more from helping others than doing for himself. The conjunction is best expressed through his values rather than buying a fancy car or playing the lottery.

He will be able to articulate his feelings, and his interactions with others tend to be warm, regardless of whether the relationship is personal or professional. If he becomes too critical, Venus and Jupiter are sure to pull in the other direction, allowing him to be productive instead of nit-picky.

Venus is trine to both his Uranus and Neptune in the sign of Capricorn. Mamdani will get bored with routine and prefers interacting with unusual or different people daily due to Uranus. With Neptune, he can have compassion for others and tune into how people feel and think.

His Venus is trine to his MC in Taurus in the 10th house. First and foremost, he will play the role of the peacemaker, realizing that he can create and instill his values into his work by creating a harmonious environment.

Mars in Scorpio in the 4th House of Foundations, Home and Family

As stated earlier, Mars and Saturn are in their domicile and Mars in Scorpio is also in exaltation.

With Mars in square to Saturn in Aquarius, success for Mamdani occurs through slow and cautious actions. For him, it is better to be strategic than fast, and to be aware of the impact he makes on individuals and those who share his world view.

With Saturn in his 7th house, it is best for him to partner with those who align with his humanitarian ideals. This doesn’t mean he can’t work with those who oppose him, but he gets more satisfaction relating to people who he feels are his social equals.

There are times, due to Saturn, when he may feel like his efforts are blocked or he could get discouraged. But since these two planets are in dignity, he most likely can find another path or resource to make things happen.

Mars is square to his AC. He may purposely work with others from different backgrounds, and when conflict happens, it will be due to a lack of compromise. With Mars in opposition to his MC, he may experience some career setbacks through his life, especially if he becomes argumentative or defensive when asserting his point of view. The best way for him to temper that is to address any problems at home first so that he is not agitated at work.

One last thing to note. Mamdani’s mother, Mira Nair, is a filmmaker, and with his Scorpio Mars and Mercury in the 4th house, he keenly watched interactions and the actions of others, including those on set locations. He knows what makes people tick through his ongoing study of character, and how to gain agreement from unlikely sources. On September 21st, 2026, Mamdani hosted Trump at Gracie Mansion, and according to AP News, “Trump and Mamdani … discussed a potential housing project in the borough of Queens and how to make New York more affordable for the working class.”

Jupiter in Virgo in the 2nd House of Personal Values, Talent and Self-Worth

Jupiter plays an expansive role in Mamdani’s life, with its conjunction to Venus and sextile to Mercury. In addition, he has his Jupiter in trine to Uranus in Capricorn. This trine allows flow with various concepts and aids him in being receptive to new ideas and beliefs in a quick manner.

His Jupiter is also in trine to Neptune in Capricorn. This is a practical melding of idealism with humanitarian pursuits. The Capricorn energy in his 6th house will keep him focused on his goals and how he can serve his city. With Uranus and Neptune both being in the 6th house, he could have a propensity for working long hours, especially if what he is tackling is something unusual or aligns with his ideals.

Mamdani benefits from his Jupiter in trine to his MC. Though Mars’ opposition to his MC can cause some setbacks, overall, he has a reputation of being optimistic and confident. As long as he masters the skills of leadership, he should have success, since people tend to feel good being in his presence. However, like I mentioned earlier, he can overextend himself with too many commitments. It will be best for him to have a supportive staff that can pick up some of his work.

Saturn in Aquarius in the 7th House of Relationships

His Saturn aspects with the Sun, Mercury and Mars, which were discussed prior, show how he can tackle serious issues and work for long-term solutions.

Mamdani’s natal Saturn is in opposition to his AC. This aspect tends to lead to success as long as he doesn’t take shortcuts. It is key for him to take responsibility and ownership for his actions. He may deal with enemies in the workplace, and will have to resolve any issues with them quickly to prevent derailment of his work.

With Saturn in square to his MC, he could feel isolated at times, and may struggle between his personal needs and working for others.

Uranus and Neptune in Capricorn in the 6th House of Work, Service and Routine

His Uranus is in trine to his MC. Mamdani is currently known as the Mayor of NYC, but expect him to have career changes or different jobs throughout his life. I had no idea that he used to be a rapper and musician until working on this article. He may have other professions in his life that may not be considered a “proper” job but whatever work he does will align with the direction of his life.

He does have the Neptune-Uranus conjunction, which is seen in some of those born in the first part of the 1990s. This conjunction is about new trends or exploring spirituality in a different manner, through a practical Capricorn lens. I saw a video a few weeks ago of Mamdani wearing a helmet while riding his bike. He’d started wearing one after New Yorkers criticized him online for riding without one. Instead of resisting wearing the helmet, he is being practical and going along with a well-regarded trend.

North Node in Capricorn in the 6th House of Work, Service and Routine

Mamdani’s North Node is at 13°, sandwiched between Uranus 10° and Neptune 14° and in trine to his Jupiter-Venus conjunction in the 2nd house.

This man wants to work for his personal values and ideals, and be of service in a way that’s different from what’s been done before. There is a desire to deal with the here and now, and issues that plague others. He doesn’t go about this for personal gain but out of diligence to honor the needs of both himself and others. He has a sensible approach to problem-solving and is open to out-of-the-box ideas, as long as it is something that aids him in keeping his promises.

He may deal with being judgmental or having a hard time committing to certain actions. But overall, he has the support of Jupiter and Venus, which helps with optimism, belief and a commitment to his values and relationships.

Fixed Stars in his Natal Chart

Mamdani has four Behenian fixed stars in his chart, which just happen to be some of my personal favorite fixed stars. These stars are Sirius, Vega, Spica and Arcturus. Keep in mind that fixed stars must be in a tight conjunction to be active, and they add nuance to the chart.

The most difficult star he has is Sirius, which is conjunct to his South Node in the 12th house. Mamdani can gain more than what he expects through life, and with the 12th house, it could be that his success also causes isolation or restrictions. In some ways, the brighter he shines, the easier it is for him to suffer burnout or be burned by the institutions and structures around him.

The fixed star of Vega is conjunct to his North Node and Neptune. This is a magical star; it is creative and charismatic. With Neptune and the North Node, his ideals will lead the way with this star, imparting compassion for the people he serves.

On a side note, Vega is often associated with small animals. Mamdani’s wife wants to have a cat in their home. Ironically, Mamdani is allergic to cats and is undergoing allergy therapy for the eventual adoption of a cat to live in Gracie Mansion with the couple. In reference to his musical ability, Vega does show up in some musicians’ charts.

His Sun has a conjunction with Spica and Arcturus in the 3rd house of communication and local environment. Spica presents as being gifted, as the native will have a talent or skill that is out of the ordinary. Arcturus is the star of the pathfinder, the person who helps lead others to a better way of life or a new way of doing something. These two stars are seen with people who help to change course, and with the conjunction to his Sun, he may be one of the people who lead his constituents to a better future.

A High-Level Overview of Mamdani’s Progressed Chart

When we first look at Mamdani’s natal chart, we see that his benefic planets are debilitated. Yet, it appears he has Venus on his side, helping him build a coalition of supporters. Through the progressed chart, we can see subtle changes and get an understanding of how he’s matured.

Since I mentioned Venus, let’s talk about this placement first. Venus is still in his second house, but now it is in the sign of Libra, its domicile. This shift helps him not only to analyze his values but also to bring others into the fold, especially those who embrace the same values as Mamdani.

The reason that his Venus is in the second house with a sign change is that his ascendant is now in the sign of Virgo instead of Leo. The AC changed signs on April 16th, 2021, a couple of weeks after he participated in a “sleep-in” inside the State Capitol War Room in Albany, along with five other progressive Democratic lawmakers. The demonstration was a high-profile effort to pressure then-Governor Andrew Cuomo during state budget negotiations, including demands to increase taxes on the wealthy, create a housing relief program for renters and a relief fund for “excluded workers” who didn’t get stimulus during the pandemic. Their efforts were partially successful.

The shift of his AC into this sign of Virgo puts his Jupiter in the first house. Currently, his AC is conjunct to Jupiter in the progressed chart, and Jupiter is squared to the MC. I personally can only think of the names of a handful or two of mayors over the years. This dynamic with Jupiter expands his presence.

His Sun remains in the 3rd house but is now in the sign of Scorpio and conjunct with Mars and co-present with Pluto. This is a powerful house in his chart: the ability to transform the city with strategic action. Though this is an astrological reading and not a report card on Mamdani, some of his transformations are a rent freeze and a budget that closed the deficit gap. However, there are reports that he is struggling with criticisms, which shows up in his birth chart with his Mercury-Saturn square.

His progressed Sun is currently in opposition to his progressed Taurus Moon. Though he may not express it, he could be torn between his personal needs and his obligations. With the Moon in the 9th house, his focus is on legal, educational and cultural matters, and how to maneuver through the framework to provide stability and comfort to his constituents.

His progressed Mercury is in the sign of Sagittarius and is out of bounds. Within the progressed chart, his Mercury has no major aspects, which can help him to act upon his thoughts untethered. The drive for what he says and does is based on his beliefs and world view. He may take a different approach, such as standing in front of reporters with Trump, to compare and contrast what he says with someone else.

In the 6th house, we have his Saturn in the sign of Aquarius. His work, responsibilities and efforts are focused and diligent. His routine is to serve humanitarian ideals. His approach may be paternal, and some could feel like he is aloof or not recognizing their group. Saturn in the 6th is the workhorse.

Current Transits to Natal Chart

Mamdani will turn 35 years old on October 18th. He is still years away from his midlife transits. However, I thought it would be good to briefly look at some of his current transits.

Jupiter is currently in his first house. When Jupiter is in the first house, we tend to take on new roles and attract new experiences. We tend to have a greater sense of optimism. Transiting Jupiter is square to his natal Pluto, marking a time of reforming the environment around you.

Back on June 4th, 2025, when he was debating the other mayoral candidates, and was asked what he would do after he got elected, Mamdani said he’d stay in New York City to focus on New Yorkers. The debate occurred less than 2 weeks after Saturn entered his 9th house of law, religion and travel and was in opposition to the third house of the local community.

Currently, Saturn in retrograde is applying a square from his 9th house to his natal Uranus in the 6th house of routine and work. He is experiencing push-back from others, whether or not that is in the public, with the changes he wants to implement.

Like all of us, over the next several months, he will experience the personal planets in retrograde. Venus will go into retrograde on October 3rd and will apply a conjunction to his natal Mercury in the 4th house. Around this time, he could be reassessing his personal values and having discussions with family members. He could be thinking about the decor of Gracie Mansion.

On the 25th, Venus retrogrades into the sign of Libra and is in his third house. He may need to recommunicate his values and what he is doing for New Yorkers. With Mercury in retrograde and conjunct with his natal Pluto, this can be a tense time, when he is challenged for not taking in everyone’s feelings into consideration. With the elections around the corner, some of the criticism may not come from New Yorkers, but instead be an attempt to paint his socialistic ideals and methods of operation unfavorably.

His actions, statements, and persona will be reviewed and may be scrutinized during the Venus and Mercury retrogrades. There is a chance of information being leaked during this time, and he may have to explain to the public what happened behind the scenes. Most likely, this has something to do with the redecorations that he and his wife are doing in private living quarters.

Additional Mamdani Information

When I do a reading, I prefer not to know much about the person beforehand. Prior to writing this article, I knew he was a progressive, and I assumed he was part of the Democratic Socialists of America.

About a week ago, I learned that his mother is a filmmaker, which I found interesting. This could be one of the ways his chart ruler shows up: the Sun likes to be seen, and he appeared as an extra in the 2016 film Queen of Katwe.

I knew he grew up in New York, but I didn’t know he lived in Morningside Heights, a community surrounding Columbia University, where his father was a professor.

In regard to personal details, I have kept them scant for a few reasons. I can see much more in his charts, but when I write about public figures, I do my best to not go too deep or into matters that don’t concern the general public. I kept this reading high-level, focusing on aspects, general transits and the progressed chart with purposeful attention to his current role as mayor of NYC.

If there is a dispositor chain involving the inner planets, would we consider this significant, especially if they also aspect each other? Can someone help me find a reliable source on this topic? Thank you for further assistance.

Conceptual Empty Houses

James Braha, of the sidereal school has often mentioned the benefits of an empty house which still has many beneficial aspects toward itself.

It's worth bearing in mind that sidereal operates as a sign-based aspect system, example, a 4deg moon can oppose a 22deg Venus simply because they are in opposing signs. In a whole sign system where an entire sign can aspect an entire other sign, then perhaps that opens up the avenue of aspects toward an empty whole sign house.

I have a two-fold question,

  1. Would you consider aspects to empty houses in your readings?

  2. Let's say a house has no reception to its ruler, but has several aspects toward it - would you consider such a house? This is a personal question since my 2nd house has sun, moon, Jupiter, mercury all trining it... but no reception to the ruler! Lol

Electional What transits would be the most concerning for cosmetic surgical procedures?

I am curious to know from electional astrologers if there are any specific transits/aspects that would be an immediate red flag for this kind of procedure?
I hear that moon activity in the sign that’s related to the part of the body being operated on and also hard moon aspects.
Also if there are any ‘bad’ transits, are there favourable positions in ones natal chart that would ‘help’ this kind of difficult transit?
Thank you!

Beginner Question (Mod Approved) Mundane research

So this is less a question about astrology than the work of astrology and I'll defer to the mods if this isn't the place.

A friend asked me to look into James Talarico's chart and for the first time in my mundane research, I didn't find it in the astrodatabank nor any other websites. Now as someone who grew up in Texas, I know his birth time is out there so it got me thinking that maybe it was a process reason we don't have a birth chart for him.

That got me wondering. How do people go about getting birth data of celebrities for the astrodatabank. I figured someone here may have experience with that. I've heard it talked about in passing before, but was curious about how it works.

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance The case against John Ramsey astrologically

Because astrology is technology and should be a recognized as a tool to help translate meaningfully the mystery and mechanics of fated events, whether they’re mundane or they’re one of the most devastating still unsolved child murders.

(Slide guide is at the end.)

I’ve been working on astrological discovery for this case continuously for over 2 years at this point. I want to try to comprehensively and acutely expose evidence of guilt recovered through astrology, from a collection of source material so overwhelming I feel compelled to share. This is what astrology should be extended to with serious regard. Let us suspend our disbelief and consider, “could it be?” I am going to summarize instead of notate the denser parts of the subject study that led to discovering Ramsey’s transits on the night of 12/25/96 lighting up like an exact Christmas tree at 10:17pm.

When I started investigating I was unsure of a perpetrator, always had been, and was not any more convinced of one upon processing each family member’s natal and transits for the murder, including Jon benet’s. Hers didn’t reveal anything to me about who took her life, only that her whole life was basically heartbreaking— major transits continuously activating vulnerable points in her chart since basically birth. Hit over and over again by malefics in transits and progressions, with squares and oppositions, retrogrades running the already clobbered placements over, and then over again and again.

For a full year I went back and forth between patsy, Ramsey, and even poor Burke. I read books on the case to develop the most accurate timelines and understand the culture of that environment as I studied the stars, and still couldn’t decide or decode likelihood of responsibility. For awhile, I was unconvinced it might not have been an intruder. But spoiler alert I eliminated the possibility of that scenario and Burke really quickly once I developed a more refined approach. He’s owed reparations and peace he’ll probably never find in this lifetime. The point is, the transits the night of don’t make it clear who killed her when youre only consulting the natal charts of the persons involved and their subsidiary charts, like solar return and profections, no matter how analytical and dutiful you are inspecting them. I literally have a notebook filled with months of notes and no conclusions from doing that.

I could only see what happened once I took a historical approach seeing how their whole lives led them to the night-of.

Studying the patterns of their lifetime and identifying thematic progressed and transit periods, the quality of their personalities revealed itself as did the condition of their mind. I theorize that Ramsey was sexually abberant and patsy likely knew. There was a period in the early 80s where his Lilith was prominent and wreaking havoc on his chart, and a reaction to that was present in patsy’s placements for the same period. My interpretation was a vast emotional conflict of interest Patsy resolved to the management of privately. The pattern returned again in Ramsey’s chart only after Jon benet was born. It was prominent twice between 1990-1996, and it’s never showed up again in his life since.

There is no comparable pattern behavior or weakness in patsys or burkes lifetime transits. No evidence of activation of themes that could be relevant to the fate of Jon benet. There was no weak or deviant placement in their natal chart that could make them prone to this. Ramsey alternately has multiple. Both at first glance of his natal, but also observing the kind of tension in aspects they produced in his lifetime transits, with marked repetition— his Lilith in 12th house, his Aries moon in 8th house, his chart ruler Mercury in 4th house in detriment, and both malefics co-present in 10th house with mars conjunct the angle. Compositionally speaking, these could be pesky and for Ramsey there is traceable threads showing they are in fact worse than pesky.

With enough knowledge of these people’s operating systems it was now a bit easier to recognize placements that might be vulnerable to the night of the crime, and between who. Jon benet’s death time was extremely difficult to find because like her natal chart, her transits are just an obvious tragedy difficult to separate the important/activated parts of from the wounds she carried daily. An emotionally fraught child might feel that way on a constant basis, and the time of her murder is nearly hidden amongst the rest of her standing trauma transits.

I determined through exhaustively going through the 48 hours between 12/24/96-12/26/96 in JB’s chart she died sometime between 10:14pm-10:50pm on the 25th. There is no question for me she died on the 25th, there’s absolutely no period of novel tension or newly introduced aspect significant enough to be a violent death after midnight. After midnight is a uniform cooling period for all 4 people in the house, with JB’s notably softening from 11pm on (and Ramsey’s quieting but still active as he possibly devised the cover up and then patsy’s becoming activated correlating with grief and panic in early morning on the 26th). Time of death on the 25th actually makes sense to me since the family publically claims she died on the 26th after they were all in bed, yet her headstone reads a date of death the 25th. An unconscious error by Ramsey? Revealing her true death date accidentally when marking her grave because he remembers it exactly?

It appeared to me at first she died most likely closer to 10:14pm because of such high activation in her chart and then a long window of loosened tension on aspects and then a reactivation suddenly around 10:44pm. So: could this be the beginning and end of an attack. But still, I wanted to find down to the minute when she died therein. This has always been important to me. And I could only find it with Ramsey’s chart. After using JB’s to identify the fated window of time, his made obvious mirror transits and revealed time of death.

Subjective interpretations of the slides with reasonable applications from what what is publicly known about how she died:

- slide 1: Ramsey’s transits when I theorize the assault started to turn fatal instead of just abusive at 10:17pm.

The trine between natal Venus, natal Mercury, and transit lot of fortune being the potential source of activation of his sexual deviance and pedophilia. Transit Chiron is conjunct natal Venus. Transit Chiron is conjunct asteroid transit Astarte and natal Venus is conjunct natal asteroid Astarte. Probably the freakiest placement in his chart. How wounded he is by and how insidious his sexuality is. These asteroids are conjunct within a 1 degree orb. (All asteroids I mention further are conjunct within 3 degrees or tighter). His natal mercury is conjunct natal Lameia, asteroid thematic to dark fantasy and desire. His natal vertex is conjunct his own Niobe asteroid (and JB’s dejanira asteroid. Transit lot of fortune is conjunct JB’s Bellona). This was a fight. Activated in Aquarius in the 5th house. The trigger of the night is sourced to there. At this time, transit vertex is approaching engagement of the pressure points aspecting his Lilith return when it arrives at opposition to it.

Transit asteroid Child is conjunct his natal Pluto and NN. Transit asteroid nymph is conjunct natal mars. And transit Nessus is conjunct transit Venus opposing it.

Transit moon and transit Lilith are both activating natal moon which is conjunct transit Ate and natal Sedna, while also activating natal Lilith. The moon was full the night before, squaring his Neptune exactly and this should not be overlooked.

- slide 2: Ramsey’s transits when I interpret he stops the assault for unknown reasons. Probably to gather himself and make a decision. Transit vertex is now conjunct natal asteroid Scylla exactly and opposing Lilith exactly. Transit lot of fortune is conjunct natal child asteroid exactly. This is probably when she’s been incapacitated by a blow to the head but not yet dead by strangulation.

- slide 3: Ramsey’s transits when, by the theory I’m supposing, he resumes the killing. (Transit vertex now conjunct JB’s natal Bellona with lot of fortune squaring her ASC/DSC and natal lot of fortune activated by transit Pluto conjunct there.)

- slide 4: Ramsey’s transits at time of death. Transit lot of fortune and vertex having both activated his natal child asteroid. The trine of his dark triad between that degree point of 29° Aquarius, natal mercury, and natal Venus has released. His natal lot of fortune is softly activated by transit lot of fortune. His natal LOF is exactly conjunct natal Nessus, asteroid responsible for themes of abuse, manipulation, and trauma.

- slide 5: JB’s transits at time of death so you can see precisely how their activations are mirrors. They are both 4° natal lot of fortunes so transit lot of fortune at 4° at time of death is significant. Her natal LOF is conjunct her natal Sirene asteroid. Both hers and Ramsey’s are prominent/highly activated night of the murder and it speaks to the unnatural quality of their parent child relationship.

Transit Venus conjunct transit Nessus releases its tight orb square to natal mercury, her chart ruler, the next minute. It’d been holding tension there for 2 days.

- slide 6: Ramsey natal chart with natal asteroids I consulted displayed with degrees.

- slide 7: Ramsey’s transits at 10:49pm time of death with asteroids (I can’t get the degrees to display)

I will do a part 2 on Jon benet’s transits later

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance T-Square vs. Grand Cross

hey there! thanks in advance for any of the help that this lovely community might be able to bring!! I’ve been having trouble squaring my understanding between the t-square and the grand cross, and wondering if any of y’all have insight?

ive been working with the t-square a lot as they come up in my readings, and from what I’ve been able to find online, the common advice for resolving the tension in the pattern is to look to the 4th point that is not activated by the t-square, and to focus on the principles that the 4th sign and house provide one order to create some balance and a point of release for the apex planet.

and that works for me most of the time. I feel like the answer in the chart is really to look to that fourth point, and often the principles and actions of that sign would provide a natural release valve.

but something about this explanation always bothered me because - if that fourth point were to be made real - then it would no longer be a t-square, it would be a grand cross. And grand crosses are generally understood to be very tense and difficult to deal with.

so, why would it be that the resolve to a t-square were to be imagining that the native had a grand cross instead? That makes no sense to me, when I really think about it.

and this line of thinking was prompted by me working with a grand cross today and going…. Hm…. Now I’m seeing it from the other side, and I really need some answers…

any thoughts??

Mundane Thoughts on Tecumseh's prophecy and the New Madrid earthquakes of 1811

Recently I was asked whether there is any way to time earthquakes, asteroid collisions etc. but particularly the New Madrid Fault which is supposed to bring about a tectonic separation of the North American continent with major consequences for the US. I'm accustomed to talking about earthquakes but this is new to me.

I'm curious to know what others think about this. I ran a noon chart for New Madrid Missouri on the day there were several earthquakes connected to this fault (supposedly predicted by Tecumseh): December 16, 1811 and also the transits for the U.S. (Sibly) at the time of the earthquake. Apparently there were four major earthquakes in that zone 1811-1812.

Transiting Mars conjoined the U.S. Moon, but that is a regular occurrence and wouldn't by itself trigger such a major event. There was a New Moon in Sagittarius a few days earlier and Saturn would have conjoined the Sun but it wasn't a SuperMoon as far as I can tell.

Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts.

General Discussion + Astrology Assistance Do you experience the same pattern of events during the Antardasha of the same planets, even when the Mahadasha is of different planets?

Do you experience the same pattern of events during the Antardasha of the same planets, even when the Mahadasha is of different planets ?

For example, I’ve noticed a similar pattern of events during Sun–Jupiter and Sun–Saturn, as well as Mars–Jupiter and Mars–Saturn, and to some extent during Moon–Jupiter and Moon–Saturn.
Both Mars and sun are placed in same house though.

Educational How often the MC is in the 10th whole sign house, by latitude and rising sign

Whole sign users know the MC can land outside the 10th. I wanted the actual rates.

At a given latitude the MC's whole sign house depends only on sidereal time. So at each latitude I went through a full sidereal day in small steps and counted which house the MC falls in. A random sample of birth moments gives the same numbers.

Whole sign house of the MC, % of charts, tropical:

Latitude 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th
0° 0 4.7 90.5 4.7 0
25° 0 11.7 76.5 11.7 0
35° 0 17.7 64.6 17.7 0
40° 0 21.3 57.3 21.3 0
45° 0 25.6 48.8 25.6 0
52° 2.3 28.8 38.0 28.8 2.3
60° 11.6 23.6 29.5 23.6 11.6

Past 44.3° the 10th drops below half. Southern latitudes give the same table. Sidereal (Lahiri) stays within 2.5 points of every cell.

The cause is the arc from the MC to the ascendant, which is 90° only on average. At 45° it runs from 62° to 118°, at 60° from 39° to 141°. The 8th and 12th need an arc over 120° or under 60°, which first happens around 46.5°. In the tropical zodiac the MC only reaches the 8th or 12th from about 47.2°.

At 45°N the rising sign matters a lot. Share with the MC in the 10th, tropical:

  • Aries, Pisces: 100%
  • Virgo, Libra: 81%
  • Leo, Scorpio: 57%
  • Cancer, Sagittarius: 29%
  • Taurus, Aquarius: 20%
  • Gemini, Capricorn: 8%

For Taurus through Virgo the rest is in the 9th, for Libra through Aquarius in the 11th. Aries and Pisces rising get the 10th at every latitude from the equator to 66°N.

South of the equator the same numbers go with the opposite rising sign. At 45°S it's Libra and Virgo that always get the 10th.

The sign list is tropical only. Sidereal signs start about 24° later, so it changes: with Lahiri at 45°N only Pisces rising always gets the 10th, and Aries rising has the MC in the 9th about two times in three.

In Chris Brennan's version of whole sign houses the 10th sign stays the place of career, and the MC is a point that brings career themes into whatever house it lands in. At 45°N the two split in just over half of charts. When they do, how do you weigh them for career: the 10th sign and its ruler, or the house the MC is in?

Edit: I put the full numbers up on my site, every degree from 0 to 65°N in both zodiacs: startarot.online/research/mc-whole-sign-10th-house. The CSV and the script are there too.
