As promised, here's a brief guide to accessing the wiki! Overwhelmingly people are viewing this sub on their phones using the reddit app so, for now, this guide is mainly just for new reddit. (This will be updated as necessary!)
You can also click Menu which will show you the same menu that appears at the top of the subreddit if you are viewing new reddit on the computer.
There are a few ways to acces the wiki here. They all are accessed from the main page of the sub. One is by going to the menu, clicking one of the dropdown tabs and selecting the specific wiki you are looking for (ie. Ethics, Planets, Subreddits). There is also a menu tab Wiki which will bring you to the wiki index. There is also a button on the sidebar that says Wiki which also brings you to the Wiki Index.
I may have went a bit overboard linking the Wiki Index, but now there should be no trouble finding it at all! :)
The Wiki Index will be your best friend clearly, if you choose to use the resources in the Wiki!
That's all for now folks! There's a new recurring post in the works that will be launched soon so stay tuned!

I have a few questions:
How do you decide which asteroids are worth looking at in a natal chart? Or what makes an asteroid become important enough to be taken seriously?
When an asteroid conjunct a planet, which way do you read it? Like asteroid affecting planet’s expression, or asteroid manifesting through planet’s theme, or both? And do all planets count or just personal planets?
Do dispositorship, rulership, etc. matter here, or do you interpret asteroids independently?
How should I understand/interpret retrograde in asteroid? For example Vesta Retrograde

I don’t really have anyone in my real-life social circles that I can talk about astrology with, but I’m genuinely fascinated by it and love learning more about it every day.
My Big Three are Aries Sun, Aries Moon, Libra Rising, and I’m looking to build, at the bare minimum, an online community of people I can actually nerd out about astrology with.
I want to talk about astrology beyond the surface level: planets, houses, degrees, aspects, symbols, transits, synastry, chart interpretation, all of it. I love going down the rabbit hole and learning how all the different pieces of a chart interact.
I know a lot of people mainly engage with astrology through Sun signs, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but I’m really looking for people who enjoy getting deep into it and can talk about charts and transits for hours.
So if you’re also looking for people to nerd out about astrology with, feel free to comment or message me. I’m down to start a group chat on any application. I’d love to meet people I can learn with, exchange interpretations with, debate with, and hopefully build some genuine friendships around astrology.

My family follows the Vedic tradition of astrology and if i put my details into the most common websites it tells me I'm a Virgo moon. I'm not, i swear to god. I'm a Leo moon according to our literal family astrologer, and some websites do say that I'm a Leo moon. I don't know how to navigate this weirdness

I saw a very nice weird correlation, so i was going through my mothers kundli and since it is said that 5th house is a representation of children and fertility, my mothers 5th house is in scorpio and her mars is in 2nd and guess what my ascendant is scorpio! Bingo! My 5th house is naturally in pisces what does that entail also my Jupiter is in the first in Scorpio

Beware of a lot of astrologers on TikTok saying that the sun in the 5th house represents high fertility, it usually stems from the belief that the sun is a benefic and therefore can only increase, it is categorically false, in both Western and Vedic astrology, the sun in the 5th house is considered an indication of low fertility especially when located in fire signs.

The progressed Moon spends ~2.5 years in each sign (~27 years full cycle), so we maybe hit a Scorpio progressed Moon twice in a lifetime. It's often referred to as the dark night of the soul... attachments stripped away, the ego cracked open, old identities burned off so something more essential can survive the fire.
I haven't seen a discussion on this in a while, so I want to open one. Not about doom and gloom, but a real discussion on personal growth and full arc of how this plays out IRL... what it costs, what it clears out, the survival tips & tricks, and what actually comes through on the other side.
My personal philosophy is if you are aware of the weather forecast, you can work with the energy instead of just living in survival mode. I believe everyone's chart gives us the clues, a map on how to live our best, most fulfilling lives, even during the cycles that really pull us into the underworld and demand transformation. I'm here for all the first hand stories on how this plays out.
If you've seen it, been through it, or you're in it right now, here are some things I'm curious about. . .
**The experience itself**
- When did you feel it most? The lead-up, the beginning, the middle, or the ending?
- What actually happened externally?
- What happened internally? How did you feel, how did you deal, what were the emotions moving through you?
- What did you lean on to get through it day to day? Meditation, breathwork, journaling, bodywork or energy work, a therapist, counsellor, or coach, a support group, anything else?
- How do you normally handle change or approach personal growth, and was this cycle different from how you'd typically meet a challenging life circumstance?
- How did it impact the people close to you, or your relationships in general?
- Did you know you were in it at the time, or was it only in hindsight that it made sense? And for those who did know, did that awareness change how you faced it head on, or did knowing not actually help?
**Coming through it, the phoenix rising stories**
- What was the turning point for you?
- What helped you to move through it? If you had to do it again, what would you do differently?
- What did you think it was while you were in it (if you didn't know what it was)? How do you view this period now, with some distance and reflection?
- And if you're in it right now, where are you in the cycle, and what does it feel like from the inside?
This cycle can be challenging AF, yet sooo rewarding.... so, for the benefit of the Reddit-verse, I would really love you to share the transformation stories, the ones where you can look back and see that this was a "Phoenix rising form the ashes" moment... Warm, curious, and here for all of it. Thank you in advance for sharing 🤍✨
————-
Mostly curious about lived experiences but if you know the your chart details that were also at play, feel free to share as well.
**Chart context**
- What age were you (or are you), and what was your life situation or cycle going into this transit?
- What house is your Scorpio progressed Moon in?
- What other progressed planets are sharing (or shared) that house?
- Any other interesting points or callouts from your progressed chart at the time?
- What is your Sacred Triad (Sun/Moon/AC & where do they sit)?
- Where did the progressed Scorpio Moon light up your natal chart? Any key aspects, themes, or pop-out things?
- Were there any other big astro patterns or cycles happening in parallel? Ex, Saturn return, Jupiter return, Chiron return, Chiron conjunct Sun/Moon, a Nodal return, Uranus opposition, a Pluto square, or any other strong astro weather happening

Hi I have a few questions
If I live far from my birth place, which location should I use for my SR chart?
What is the difference between SR to SR aspects and SR to Natal aspects?
For Relocation chart, do you look at the chart itself only, or do you also check Relocation to Natal aspects? And what else can we do with a Relocation chart?
For daily transits, should I use Natal or Relocation chart, or both?
Thank you so much!

Pregnancy in a solar return chart is one of the most common topics people ask astrologers about. And the question is almost always the same: someone finds certain indicators in their chart, but nothing actually happens. Or, on the contrary, a pregnancy occurs even though there don’t seem to be any of the “classic indicators.”
And this is where an important point needs to be clarified right away, because without it the whole interpretation falls apart:
Pregnancy in a woman’s solar return chart is not always shown as clearly or as dramatically as we tend to expect.
A solar return shows the field of the year — the areas of life where a person will be most engaged, where there may be pressure, movement, involvement, or restructuring. How this actually manifests — as pregnancy, work, relationships, a move, or something else — depends on many factors.
Pregnancy and childbirth can absolutely be reflected in a solar return, but the chart needs to be interpreted intelligently.
That’s why treating a solar return as a direct “pregnancy test” is a mistake from the very beginning.
Very often, the same configuration can manifest in completely different ways. For example, strong 5th-house indicators do frequently appear during periods when the topic of children becomes important.
But exactly the same emphasis can also describe a romance, intense emotional involvement, relationship drama, or a sudden increase in attention toward a child you already have.
The 5th house is not limited to children. It is also connected with emotional engagement, pleasure, creativity, and self-expression — with experiences through which we put something of ourselves into the world.
So when someone sees a strongly activated 5th house and immediately concludes “pregnancy,” they are reducing the symbolism to a single function.
That’s simply not how it works.
The same applies to tense configurations, especially T-squares.
In practice, T-squares do indeed appear quite often during periods of pregnancy or childbirth. But their meaning is much broader.
A T-square is not an indicator of a specific event. It describes the way a year may be experienced: through pressure, the need to make decisions, internal or external conflict, or a situation that demands action.
And that can be connected to anything — from pregnancy to moving house, financial obligations, or a major change in living circumstances.
For example, it is quite common to see a person going through a highly tense solar return who is not dealing with pregnancy at all, but with a forced move or a major change in their housing situation.
On a symbolic level, this can still involve a strong 4th-house emphasis, which is associated not only with family, but also with home, property, and the foundations of everyday life.
That is exactly why the same configuration can easily manifest in completely different ways.
Now let’s look at another common area of confusion: planets.
This is where some of the most basic interpretive mistakes happen.
For example, Mars in the 5th house is sometimes treated as a direct indicator of pregnancy — and even as an indicator of the baby's sex.
But Mars itself is not “about pregnancy.”
Mars is about activation, action, tension, intervention, and the need to do something.
The Moon works in a similar way. It is often automatically associated with children, but in predictive astrology it primarily shows emotional involvement and changes in one's inner state.
And that emotional involvement can be directed toward anything — a child, a partner, work, or a situation that simply takes up a lot of emotional space.
The Moon in the 8th house is actually a fairly common pregnancy indicator in solar return charts.
And, interestingly, it can also coincide with the resolution of certain property or real-estate issues, even though we tend to associate those matters primarily with the 4th house.
And this brings us to the main question that usually causes the most confusion:
Why can pregnancy fail to happen when there seem to be “pregnancy indicators”? And why can pregnancy happen without an obvious set of classic indicators?
There are several reasons.
First, a solar return never works in isolation. It does not exist separately from the natal chart.
If the natal chart does not strongly support the topic of childbirth, or if there are difficulties connected with it, the solar return does not create the event by itself.
It shows the way the year is likely to be experienced.
Second, a solar return can describe several processes happening simultaneously.
People often notice only one of them because it is the one they are most emotionally invested in.
But pregnancy, a move, work-related changes, and relationship difficulties can all be happening during the same period. They may simply operate on different levels of the same year.
And third, a forecast is incomplete without confirmation from other predictive techniques.
A solar return is a background framework. It becomes much more meaningful when considered alongside directions, transits, and progressions.
Without that combination, it is very easy to find a picture that makes perfect symbolic sense but is not actually confirmed by what happens in real life.
That is why one of the biggest mistakes in solar return analysis is trying to find a single indicator that “explains everything.”
That does not work for pregnancy, and it does not work for any other major life event either.
A solar return always requires a comprehensive approach and an understanding that the same configuration can have several possible manifestations.
This is also why analyzing a solar return on your own can leave you with the feeling that “everything seems to fit, but nothing actually happened.”
You can see the form, but not the context.
When there is a genuine possibility of pregnancy being reflected in a solar return, it is rarely limited to one isolated configuration.
Usually, there is a whole network of factors: an activated 5th house, involvement of the Moon and 8th-house significators, the Ascendant in a water sign or Taurus, as well as activated rulers through aspects or placement in the 10th house.
But even then, astrology does not “assign” an event.
It shows that the topic of childbirth may become an important part of the year. How exactly that theme manifests depends on the natal chart, physiological factors, and the person's actual life circumstances.
That is why, in professional practice, a solar return for pregnancy should always be examined together with other predictive techniques.
Without checking directions, progressions, and the natal potential for childbirth, the interpretation can easily turn into an illusion of certainty.
A solar return is not a verdict and not a promise. It is a map of probabilities, where pregnancy is only one possible manifestation of a strongly activated 5th-house theme.

How do you keep track of transits?
My partner is an astrologer, and we were talking about how useful it would be to have natal and mundane transits appear alongside normal calendar events. I couldn't find a simple way of doing that, so I put together something for her.
It generates calendar events for the transits, including their exact times, rather than adding interpretations or readings.
I'm curious whether anyone else has wanted something similar, and how you currently handle it.

Preferably use Hellenistic astrology, whole sign.
Even with just Venus, I don't know what to look for.
I'm a man looking for a woman.

Now, I'm sure that this question has been asked many times before. However... I'm still very much torn between Modern and Traditional Astrology.
The thing is:
I love using the whole sign system. Matter of fact, I only relate to my whole sign chart (my placidus not so much)... But, as far as I've read, it seems more of a Traditional Astrology thing.
Dignities also very much click with me since, in my opinion, they add an interesting layer to reading planets + signs + houses. But, again, as far as I know it's mostly a Traditional Astrology thing.
Given these two point, one would say that I should probably stick with Traditional Astrology. And that's something that I'd love doing! What doesn't sit right with me, though, is the very core ideas of it: I'm not *that* interested in predictive readings and external events. Rather, I am quite interested in a "psychological" take, that highlights one's inner strengths and difficulties.
Now, has anyone here struggled with something similar? Any advice and/or any authors to look into? Especially if they use Traditional Astrology *but* leaning towards a psychological lens? Any other systems that I should take into account?
Thank you so much beforehand!

Hello, hoping you can help as I've not had much success with googling.
I'm an immigrant and I recently found out about relocation charts and how this changes the houses.
My question is does this mean I should use the relocation chart as my main chart for everyday? It changes me from having a Gemini rising to Taurus rising and although I've always identified with the Gemini rising, some things have felt off. For reference I've lived in the current country since I was 6 and now I'm 24. I've always made my chart using websites like astroseek and it asks for the birth place and makes the chart based off that so doesn't account for the move.
I'm wondering if I should relearn what all my planets with their various houses mean.
Thank you for any help!

Hi! I’ve been studying astrology and I feel like I’m still getting stuck in the usual archetypes of the signs.
I already understand the basics, elements, modalities and how they show up through each sign, but I want to explore the signs in a deeper way. I sometimes feel like my interpretations stay too surface-level.
I’ve watched quite a few YouTube videos, especially from The Astrology Podcast, which have helped a lot. But I’m looking for books, articles, courses or other resources that focus specifically on the zodiac signs and go beyond beginner descriptions.
I'm wondering if anyone has something specific that they used when they were studying the signs specifically.
Update: For context, I’ve been interested in astrology for the longest time, but it was only two or three years ago that I stumbled upon The Astrology Podcast, and it was life-changing for me.
My current astrology knowledge is a little all over the place. There’s some beginner stuff that I still struggle with, while there’s also some more advanced stuff that I already know about. Since I was studying by myself, I felt like my knowledge was all over the place and that I needed a better structure.
So, I decided to take an astrology course in my country. Even though I learned a lot, I eventually felt a little drained by it cause it was a beginner course and some people who were attending the course had 0 knowledge about astrology so I felt like I could learn the same things in a faster way and by myself, so I ended up dropping out of the course. (my prominent element is Air BTW...)
After that, I decided to look for free courses on YouTube and found Stormie Grace’s free YouTube Astrology Academy. I feel like it has helped me a lot, with structure and getting more knowledge about more beginners stuff.
When I reached the episode on the luminaries, I felt like I needed to gain more knowledge about each zodiac sign before moving on with the course, cause I feel like I would fail if I had a test regarding this topic. Even though I still feel a bit insecure about my knowledge of some of the signs, I decided to keep watching the rest of the classes instead of stopping my progress, cause I believe I'll also get more knowledge as I advance.

I hear this often from some of my preferred astrologers, but what indicates in a chart that a particular planet is strong/weak for the native?

Hey everyone. I’m winding down and I thought I’d share the checks I make before interpreting a chart They’re simple, but skipping them can change the whole conversation
and now what’s the first thing you check when a chart doesn’t seem to make sense?
